No reason for Tampa to do that, and it makes more sense for SJ to NOT give up good future assets for a player that they could get a similar quality of in free Agency.

Pesce, Roy, DeMelo, Chatfield, etc. There's a good amount of RHD free agents that it's better to get a vet that can play that top pairing as our younger guys develop.

Boqvist is indeed available at a hefty discount, but it's not anywhere near that hefty.

Agree! Tampa passes and sharks could better manage their assets.

Overall not bad ideas but there are a few tweaks I’d impose

And that would probably work.

I think earlier in the season he was worth it but was scratched many nights. I don’t thinks it’s too far off though

It would help them greatly with the cap. Ideally, yes, San Jose would add in free agency although to may struggle to get free agents to sign. Cernak seems to fit the mold of what Grier wants, big and physical, and is still younger than most of the guys mentioned.

Is he even an option? What would Tampa want?

I mean, it's not like they have any young guys they need to extend at a high AAV, or go after any big FA names. losing Cernak would crush their d-depth

I would love to have Cernak but those UFAs I mentioned fit that same mold. And you wouldn't have to give up a solid young player, a good depth D, and 2nd for them.
For the record, I'm open to moving Bords but not really with the 2nd

He wasn’t healthy scratched much after Thanksgiving, he was mostly just hurt again. At least one concussion, took a puck to the face while sitting on the bench that broke most of his teeth, and closer to the end of the year got tangled up with a ref near the bench and suffered a weird upper body injury. He wears #27, which is very cursed for this franchise, and joked at exit interviews he will be changing it next year.
