new rule, whenever a devils fan does a brady tkachuk proposal and it doesn’t include Nemec, the trade price goes up

Literally . ANY BRADY TRADE WILL HURT THE OTHER TEAM TO GIVE UP.

this guy keeps comparing the Eichel trade when it was well known no one gave up much for Eichel because of his serious injury and no one wanted him to have that very serious surgery except for like Vegas.

the line that really kills me all the time is “this is the most I would be comfortable giving up

if you would be comfortable giving it up, then it’s not getting Brady Tkachuk!!! it’s that simple!

First 6 seasons in the league :

Brady has more goals than Matthew.

Matthew beats him by 34 pts while playing on much superior teams .

NJ was willing to give up 2nd overall + when Matthew only wanted to extend with 4 teams.

Brady can be traded to any team. NJ won’t get him period unless the offer starts with Nemec

i would say not enough for Brady, Nemec is a high end prospect/rookie but he has only 60 games played so far, that is such a risk for OTT to trade Brady only for him (the 2nd is meaningless) way too risky for OTT.

IMO both sides are wrong on the price saying Nemec isn't enough and devils fans barely willing to go more than Holtz and 10th overall its all ridiculous giving up Nemec alone for him stings for NJ fans and only getting Nemec back is a hard pill for sens fans to swallow and I think that's how you know a trade is probably fair.

Exactly . Nemec is the type of piece that Sens can go and retool properly and draft Tij Iginla and still be well on their way.

Trading Brady for Holtz/Mercer just means that one of those two will be on our top line . Horrible. Without even getting a top pair RD

The Tkachuk trade has been well covered above... so I'll just add that PINTO would not sign that deal. He'll take a bridge deal rather than leaving millions on the table.

I'll say this about Holtz its not the most likely thing but if he hits he's he's gonna score 40+ nothing to do with trades just the disrespect for him has gotten out of hand around the NHL

His analytics didn’t look good this year. I would 100% take him on the Sens but not in a Brady deal

Owen Tippet and Brandon Hagel signed similar deal

yeah I agree its not worth the risk but the potential is crazy high and people just dump on him relentlessly that's all I'm trying to say

Price is set by supply and demand. More scarce items carry higher price.

Top-5 prospects with 2+ years on ELC are never traded…maybe once a decade. (Not to mention one that plays a highly sought after position)

Top wingers are traded every year.

A lot harder to find a Nemec than a big winger.

Wrong.

A lot harder to find a Brady type power forward than a good RD.

Brady isn’t your typical winger. This is delusion. He’s also not even in his prime yet

You think Brady’s are in supply? And you think NJ would be the only team bidding? Come on 😂😂

Matthew is probably the only power forward definitely better than Brady he's a rare commodity as well I believe Tkachuk doesn't follow the norm when it comes to winger trades.

True, and Pinto and Hagel had similar starts (first 140 games is a near match) with Tippett trailing by a fair bit...
...but Tippett and Hagel are 1.5 - 2 years older than Pinto, and are both wingers.
I just think Pinto is more likely to hit around $4M x2 then sign a big money 8 year deal at 25.

Here is a list of top-10 prospect RHDs that have been traded while still on ELC:

(that's it)

(Wade Redden, Bryan Berard, Mikhail Sergachev, Luca Sbisa, Jack Johnson were all lefties)

Seth Jones in 2016 was on his ELC when he got traded to Columbus. So that’s 1 for your list

God, this squabble has me putting both on the ignore list. The tit for tat angry posting about something some podcast hacks say isn't worth taking over the feed here.

He didn't appear on many 'prospects lists' since he went straight to NHL. But he did appear at #10 on McKeen's 2013-14 pre-season list. So, I'd say it fits at least the spirit of the question.

But Nashville didn't add to Jones....no Kevin Fiala, no 1st pick...
