Columbus doesn't need a Marner, that's why they brought in Gaudreau. Also Kekalainen was fired because he was thinking about trading Jenner and ownership didn't want that.

Severson is overpaid - Leafs can find better or comparable RHD in FA at less $ & term. Jenner is a good player on a decent contract, but tops out at 3C on a good team, doesn’t move the needle for me.
Markstrom is on a big ticket coming off multiple years of inconsistent play. Plus he’s 34, way too much cap to alott to an ageing, inconsistent goalie

Regardless of the value of the deal, we can't afford to lose Jenner. It's difficult to overstate the degree to which he's a perfect fit in his role right here.

In that case Calgary accepts so they can trade them back to Toronto for Matthews or Nylander.
