Yeah we're not trading Knies, likely 3rd most untouchable behind Matthews and Nylander

Spurgeon does not have anywhere remotely close to that kind of value

As much as I’d love to offload Spurgeon, Toronto would not make that trade. The value for them isn’t anywhere close, especially due to Spurge’s cap hit and propensity for injury. Knies is a big part of their future with Marner likely departing, anyway.

Also Patty Kane’s market is more like 5-6M, me thinks.

I would be very surprised if Spurgeon could fetch that kind of return at his advanced age. You are trying to trade what everyone knew the worst years of his contract would be but for prime value. 35 year olds simply don't get that kind of return and especially not with term going further into their late 30s.

In a different way to look at it, why would the Leafs pay a prime price for the worst years of Spurgeon and at a 7 mil cap hit when they could offer Matt Roy 6 million, 1 mil more than you did here, and get him for his early 30s at no asset cost?

@Caerii I'm amazed no one has picked up on the purpose of this thread. They're veteran posters all and all should of known better.

Your responses to them though. 👨‍🍳💋 ROFL
