From the BOE/BOG's prespective, there were too many deals that severely compromised the future of the franchise and the prospect and player depth at multiple positions. While certain positions such as defense were upgraded, depth at the goaltending and forward prospect positions in particular were depleted. Like Tony stated, you are more than welcome to stick around as an assistant to polish your skills and then possibly later return as a GM.
