The Blues presumably accept. But nobody is paying so much to take all of Donskoi's salary. Best recalculate that one.

flyers teardown
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>buffbry</b></div><div>I don't know how any red wings fan can say no to this deal for farabee. Look what Devin toews did for avs and it costs them 2 2nds. Those 2 2nds in the Grand scheme mean nothing and farabee is better then zadina. This is a no brainer if flyers would do this, which they wouldn't</div></div>
Farabee is better than Zadina but he's not better than Bertuzzi, Vrána, or Raymond. Farabee is comparable to Fabbri in scoring which would put him around 4th to 5th among our wingers. Farabee is a left shooter just as Bert, Kuba, Filip, and Robby, the only right shooter we have in the top-6 is Raymond. Farabee has a salary of $5 million.
With Berggren (for sure) and Söderblom (possibly) on the right wing next season the question becomes where would Farabee play? Berggren is having a great year in GR and Söderblom is having a massive breakout year in the SHL.
Then add together what we're giving up. We're likely to give up a couple of 3rd round picks to fix our left side defense. With Oesterle being the only LD under contract traded away here Yzerman absolutely has to get two new veterans, he's not going to run four rookies on LD. If this trade is made we will be giving up four top-3 round picks this season.
Those two 2nd round picks can be put to better use by patching holes that are much much bigger than a middle-6 winger spot. Like moving up in the draft to get a centre that we need way more than a winger or by offer-sheeting someone that is just as good as Farabee for $4.1 million which would cost us only one 2nd round pick (Dylan Strome, Jason Robertson, Adrian Kempe, Mangiapane, Jesse Puljujärvi).
A trade cannot be evaluated out of context. What players do we have at the position? What is coming up through the prospect pool? What are our biggest needs that should be fixed first? If there's a choice, and it could very well come to that, between getting the centre we want in the draft and doing this trade then this trade shouldn't be done. Getting a winger that isn't going to be on the top line simply isn't that important at this point in the rebuild. Getting us a working LD and a bona fide top-2 centre is much much more important.

Minor Upgrades for Playoffs
Detroit declines Suter is playing good hockey right now and the 2nd line is keeping pace the 1st production.
Andersson is more well known for his temper tantrums than his play. No way Yzerman brings him to Detroit. Walker is an RHD and Detroit doesn't need anymore RHDs. Plus he recently tore his ACL and his MCL. Thomas also had a season ending injury and it required surgery to repair his shoulder.

Musing
Wings fan here. Yes, you're over market value for a player of Larkin's caliber, in my opinion, but hard pass. Larkin is untouchable because of what he means to the franchise.
Full explanation here, Larkin is the ONLY Top 6 center in the Wings organization. Veleno is the closest possible center, but he's more of a 3C with possible, unlikely-to-reach 2C potential. None of the other center prospects in the Wings' organization are likely to be as close as Larkin is. Gambling on Norris becoming as good as Larkin is too risky of a move for a team that just had the worst season in the salary cap era.
Top that off with Larkin being a hometown kid, grew up a Wings fan, and is a shoo-in for captain next season. There's a very good argument that he's not even the best forward on the Wings, but his work ethic, leadership, and attitude are what the Wings want to build around. He'll likely be a 2C by the time the Wings are playoff regulars, but will still be the leader on and off the ice. *rant over*
Kudos for not offering garbage for Larkin though.

Since my last MTL - DET Trade got so much attention
Detroit passes. Veleno and the 3rd are the best pieces of the trade and Detroit is giving up both of them. Byron is 31 and has no value to a rebuilding team and Poehling is a 3rd line center at best.

Trade Hank so he gets bought out
If your OTT trade description is correct, “ Sens would only owe $3.5M on an $8.5M cap hit” then you’re not sending enough compensation. Carolina received a top 10 protected first for 4M cash and 6.25M cap hit pre-pandemic. You’re talking about the cheapest owner in hockey during a pandemic and only getting a meh prospect (Skinner), a ticked-off potential bust in Andersson, and a 3rd. That’s a hard sale considering they’ll hit the floor without this trade also.

Price and Webers Last Cup-Window 2021 Expansion-Ready Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Steve_321</b></div><div>Why are red wings fans freaking out this hard.... there is a hockey trade to be had here, maybe it needs a first in it - but the red wings are a bad team with one good center. Don’t tell me there isn’t a configuration of domi for mantha that doesn’t work, you are all clowning hard</div></div>
Ok, let me tell you why.
1st do not call me a clown or clowning because I disagree with you.
2nd, yes we need a center, but we are rebuilding and we have Veleno, Rasmussen and possibly a center in Rossi if we pick him in the draft.
If we traded Mantha for Domi as many Hab fan's have posted, it possibly fills one hole at center but opens another hole in scoring winger. Yes Larkin is our only center, now. We have several prospects in GR, like Veleno, Rasmussen and if we pick Rossi in the draft there are 3 potential centers.
Here are some of the Mantha trades proposed
Mantha for Domi
Mantha for two 2nds and Mete for Mantha
Mantha for Poehling 2nd and 3rd
Mantha & 2nd for Domi, Poehling and a 3rd
And my favorite
Mantha and Veleno for Tatar, Petry, Poehling and 2nd and 3rd in 2022
Do I think there is a trade to be made, yes but I think Wings and Wing's fans see Mantha as a building block and because so they want A+ prospects and picks and Habs want to deal their overruns and players they believe do not need. Wings want Domi, possibly but not for their #1 forward.
Wings in a rebuild and trading one of their best players for other teams extra pieces is just not the way to rebuild even if Hab fans think so.
I really wish now, Montral won th e 1st picks and got Alexis so they would stop this crap.

NO.
Just STOP PLEASE.
Wings do not Domi so stop.
Wings do ot want Mete so stop.
You say he is injury prone, so we take that chance. You say he has never scored 70 points. Fine.
If you make all these arguements why in the HELL do you want him.
You make arguements defeating your own case for us to trade him, because why would you want him.
Stupid plain and simple STUPID
