Whats The Plan Chris

I mean why not both... like 9.4m opening night cap space mean they would have an obscene amount of TDL cap space accrued, like 20 m or something. Their actual bonus liability is much less than it was last year, the odds of them having carryover is super low, and if they do, that means they had some awesome years from the young kids AND added a bunch of pieces. If they just do nothing and open the season with almost 9m in cap space, its a massive mistake. They should be taking on some bad expiring deals from teams that need to get under the cap if they dont add Eichel.

If Kakko or Schneider were going to be available in an Eichel trade, the deal would have been made weeks (months?) ago. What will change between now and then to make the Rangers up their offer? Hard to see pressure points for them, only for Buffalo.

Rangers, loaded with wings, desperately need a top 6 center... How about another wing for a top prospect, a center and a 1 on an expiring deal. Makes sense to me.

Broken Neck trades

It will be a top prospect, 1-2 roster players, at least one 1st and probably another pick or prospect</div></div>
But thats the point of this whole thing that seems to be soaring over your heads. Adams passed on offers that dont exist anymore. Vegas went out and signed people and acquired Dadonov. They cant just magic 10m in cap space between now and opening night, unless buffalo takes a ton of salary back to make it work. Which means the package you are quoting surely doesnt exist as an option anymore, and is lowered. Adams overplayed his hand, teams made other adjustments and now instead of NYR, LAK, VGK and others all bidding on Eichel, its just the NYR left. So why would Drury raise his offer? Show me one point of leverage Adams has left? Did you read the Vogl article in the Athletic? Was good stuff.

Sabre fans would rather he went to Russia for the next 5 years. No return is better than a $hit return and having that cloud hang over the franchise and players they got in exchange for him. Address the Sabres needs or waste 5 years of Eichels prime.</div></div>
Lol your response is laughable. Name me another team right now that has better assets to offer than what the Rangers have already offered and the cap space to take him on this season. I think the last reported offer was something like 2022 1st, Strome, Zac Jones and one of Chytil/Kravtsov. No one else is coming close to that and all you have is a ticking time bomb going into camp. You think the Pegula's are just gonna pay him $10m a year for 5 years knowing he never plays for them again? You think it gets easier to trade him when his NMC kicks in? You only fooling yourself if you think the Sabres have any leverage left here. Once the Kings signed Danault, your chance of a bidding war went up in smoke.

Because he is never playing for your team again, he might be damaged goods, your owner is a cheapskate, your GM gave up all his leverage points and there is no one out there making an offer for him that comes close to what the Rangers are going to offer and nothing that is going to happen to force Drury to up his offer lol.

As hilarious it would be if Eichel went for the pennies on the dollar you are talking about, the Rangers last offer included a 1st and 3 better pieces than that, so I dont think its possible to be that low. But Adams blew right past the logical point where he had the most leverage and the return will be smaller than what he could have gotten before the draft for sure.

Eichel Of Course
It seems pretty apparent to me personally, that if Schneider or Kakko, let alone both, were available to be offered for Eichel, the deal happens weeks ago. Buffalo has less leverage than it did a few weeks ago, so im hard pressed to see why the Rangers would up their offer to this package at this point in the conversation.

Firm believer that if Kakko was on the table or going to be included, the deal would have been done weeks ago. Not sure what events can happen between now and opening night that would make Eichel's price go anywhere but down, so if Kakko isnt on the table already, what is getting him added to the deal?

Rangers would be fools to turn that down. They have a ton of one year cap space that they arent gonna be able to use unless its Eichel. Take on the Mikko deal, get two good assets too in return for Georgiev, and then have allaire coach Mikko up as the backup, rebuild some value, and then flip Mikko at the deadline with 50% retained for even more assets. Perfection.

They’ve woefully screwed this team up. Guess that means they’re trading most of the young guys to keep overpaid older players since we’ve still got a flat cap to deal with.</div></div>
lol. settle down. the young talent aint going anywhere unless its for a superstar, and if they were gonna trade Kakko for Eichel, it would have happened already.

This is easily one of the silliest takes i have ever seen on this site. $12m in dead space this year, $10m dead next year, $6.5m the 3 after that. To prove a point? Are they ideal, no? Is the Trouba contract that bad? Probably not, he was excellent last year and should be very good the next 3. Kreider is worrisome but thats also Kreider. Settle down. Buy them both out. Worse than Sather over here.

Rangers have so much cap this year, and if they move from Eichel chase, I would do Mikko and a 1st for Georgiev if i was them, just take the 1 to downgrade the back up and eat the whole cap hit and see if Allaire can coach him up.

Trouba is getting the "C" and literally not going anywhere. He forced his way to NY for his wife's internship and residency program, she is already matched and in place. He isnt waiving and they arent going to even consider asking. He and Kreider are unmovable for at least 3 years. Just a fact of life.

The reported last offer from the Rangers is Jones, Kravtsov, Georgiev, Strome and a 1st. If the Rangers were willing to move Kakko or Schneider, this deal is probably done already. All the posturing and expiring leverage Adams has seems to be trying to get Schneider added to the package over Jones. So basically there is no chance you get Kakko, and absolutely no chance you get Kakko and Schneider.
