You'd give up Donato, Lauzon, 1st and Swayman for Eric Staal? That's gotta be the worst deadline deal I've seen from the Bruins perspective yet.

Blues are not moving Tank.
You have overpaid for everyone else.
You have no depth.
And you put yourself in a position where you don’t have the cap space to sign Mac, Carlo, Chara, Jalmy or their replacements next year without trading 1 or more assets that you can no longer replace from within if you do. Trouble.
better win now because the future is bleak.

<em>REASONING:</em> All trades are horrendous. The Columbus is absolutely horrendous. You're trading Jake DeBrusk + JFK + Lauzon for Josh Anderson. Like what? How did this cross your mind as a "good move". Letestu is an AHL scrub at this point. He holds no value. You still somehow grossly overpaid for both players in one trade.

I was going to do my own personal "Starsearch" rating of one quarter star, but I think your rating is more accurate. These are just plain terrible all around except for the Klefbom trade which wouldn't happen because it makes Edmonton worse. None of these are even close to fair.

Brekels pre-TDL plan 2
As for the Williams trade, it’s an option but not very likely. He’s the captain for a team pushing hard for the playoffs and if they continue like this, I see Carolina as buyers at the deadline. I also don’t know how I’d feel dropping a second rounder for Williams who’s probably best at third line but can step in temporarily at second line.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhockey91</b></div><div>Lmao Toronto has much better goaltending. Rask is losing his job to halak haha. Boston’s only advantage is on D, I’ll give you that. But the gap between Toronto’s offence and goaltending is much bigger. Sure Boston can compete with anyone in the east, but do you really think they can beat Toronto, Tampa, and then Washington/Pit? It’s not very likely they can win 3 series against teams that are better then them with their current roaster. They can definitely win one or two, but 3 would be very tough. Just look at how Tampa dummied them in the ECSF last season. Bring in senko, then they have a chance</div></div>
Have you watched hockey in the past month and a half? Rask has been playing phenomenal while Halaks numbers are slowly declining. Research before you make comments like that. Boston beat Toronto 3-1 in the season series so I wouldn’t act like anything will be a cake walk. Sure Toronto added Tavares but that defense is the exact same and Boston seems to expose that defense every time they play.

Okay, okay, okay I'll agree Andersen is a decent goalie if you agree to spell his name right. Does that sound fair lil guy? How about I buy you an ice cream and you can vent about how puberty is hard?

I like how you don't even know the guys name yet you feel qualified to give you 2 cents on which goalie is better and that you use ESPN and TORONTO sports network as your "proof". That just shows you're completely out to lunch about this argument and that you should watch more hockey especially of players who's value you are comparing.

Earlier this year he was losing his job to Halak. Rask has gotten into many cold streaks throughout his career. I’ll take Anderson all day every day over rask</div></div>
Well, when he's had more cold streaks than Andersen, yet puts up better numbers yearly; it should be easy to tell who the better goalie is lol. Without his cold streaks he'd be one of the top 5 goalies all time and even with them he's got better career numbers than Carey Price and Rinne and Bobrovsky all of which have routinely been superior to Anderson. You're probably using some stupid Capfriendly user metric in your head where you think "well Rask's 2 years older and played in the NHL for 6 more seasons.... therefore Andersen has much more potential!!!"
I love you're take on the leafs being the superior team to the Bruins as well. I mean the Bruins didn't beat them in the playoffs last year or anything and after Toronto added Tavares the Bruins definately aren't 3-1 vs them this season as well with just as many injuries if not more. But hey, the last thing an impaired person would do is feel qualified to make an opinion on the matter based off of zero statistics after watching none of the games. I mean, that doesn't happen on here at all does it? :sarcasm

NYR BOS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BreKel</b></div><div>Lmfao... "murdered"? What a delusional and over reactive take. The BOS/NYR trade last season was far from a "murder". It was fair value for the best winger option at the TDL. The only valuable piece the Bruins gave up was the 1st round pick. Lindgren is a decent prospect, but his upside seems to be limited and Spooner blows.</div></div>
At the time Spooner was probably worth a 2nd round pick in the offseason if he kept the pace he was at and Lindgren was a 2nd round prospect. People forget though that the Bruins were able to dump nearly 2m in salary cap in the deal so that factors in as well.
I think the deal slightly favored the Rangers and because it didn't work out some people are always going to blow it out of proportion. The team targeted he and only he and was 2nd in the East with the 4th overall best record in the league and Sweeney said the team earned the right to have a big time piece added due to their consistent play so that's why they felt okay spending a good amount for a guy who hadn't topped 40 points in 3 years. That was the part of the deal I didn't like. Rick Nash hadn't played 70+ games since 2014-2015 so it was a major gamble as a rental health wise and it figures he gets hurt. The team probably should have seen that one coming which is why I didn't like the deal, but had Nash stayed healthy the entire way he would have been worth the price in my estimation.

Brekels pre-TDL plan 1
I'm not a huge fan of either of these players and fail to see the point in adding both of them. I can understand Ferland vs the 2nd and cehlarik, but if you're adding Schenn + another rental I think it's to become better than Tampa and Toronto and I don't personally think this team is better than them. If the Bruins are 3rd in the Atlantic it probably only makes sense to add Ferland into the mix for a cheap package like you did. I'm not a huge fan of Schenn to begin with, but if you add him and Ferland it pretty much means you don't have enough cash to resign Ferland even if Backes is traded and Chara retires. If The cap goes up 3 mil and Backes is traded + Chara retires you have 14M. McAvoy and Carlo should take up atleast 10m, so that leaves 4M for Donato, JFK and Ferland which I don't think is enough as Ferland likely takes up the 4M himself or possibly even more if a team decides to get a little crazy in Free Agency.

I think Ferland would be a nice fit on Boston and that price is more than reasonable for a rental winger. The Schenn trade might be a fair offer based on the way he's playing but I hope that our GM keeps in mind that he doesn't have to trade him (contract not expiring) and he's playing some bad hockey right now so there's a good chance his value would be better if he waits it out. He's only got 9 goals and he's sporting a .965 PDO at 5v5. He and his linemates are in a serious funk but they look like they're starting to pick it up. I'd hate to see him traded for anything less than a promising prospect + or a 1st round pick +. When he finds his game, he's more valuable to us next year than Grz and Heinen IMO.

And Heinen + Vaakanainen + 1st... Overpayment as ****. <a href="/users/ngikas" target="_blank">@ngikas</a> here is the problem with this boob. He thinks that STL is going to get similar value to what they gave up for Schenn when there is a good chance they don't. As he stated before, he thinks trading is profit based. He's in for a rude awakening when Schenn is moved for much less than he expects, or walks for nothing in 1.5 years.</div></div>
Like I don't know much on Schenn except that he had a career year last year and STL bought high. They tried to go for the home run bringing in Schenn before last year and now ROR before this year and it hasn't worked out. You know how it is tho, no fan wants to "lose" on a trade and unless both teams are making a hockey trade theres most likely going to be a loser. Who knows giving up Heinen, Grizz/Lauzon could be a horrible trade 3 years from now. But on paper I think my original post and your offer are probably about on point.

I think it's honestly just STL fan. They live in a world where Schenn is a 70 point player because he's done it a total of 1 time in his 5 years of 79+ games. He also never scored 60 before that season, but some how they value him as a consistent 70 point forward.
