Yes Shattenkirk struggled but I don’t think they’d waive him seeing as they just signed him. Would like to see Mitchell play 3RD but just don’t see it happening

Better off if Zboril is not claimed. His full cap hit can be buried and leaves them with more depth.
No way in hell they keep Greer over Lauko.</div></div>
Yeah I think Poitras is getting a shot. Fair enough about Zboril, as long as he’s not playing for Boston game 1. Is Lauko waiver exempt still? I thought he was which is why I put Greer over him. But if he’s not then yes it’s an obvious choice

Agreed, but don’t sleep on Gasseau. Crazy 2nd half for the Eagles this year. Great size and skating. Raw overall but the Bruins have a good development team and he’s coming into next season with big time confidence

Is Boston going to Marc Andre Fleury Ullmark this offseason?
If the Bruins can keep Sway on less than 5 mil per season long-term, I could see them keeping both goalies around until Ullmark's deal expires. Having 2 fantastic goalies for less than 10 mil with the defense they have could keep them competitive even as they transition the forward group to the young guys.

Yeah you guys match up well with the Bolts. I could've seen center depth being an issue prior to the TDL but O'Reilly coming in was a huge add. Only scare is goaltending. Big Cat can steal a series and we've never seen Samsonov do the same.

Would prefer Pens for the Bruins sake, I think they match up really good agains the Pens and not as good against the Panthers, but what can you do?
If NJ beats out Carolina for the division title, I could see the Isles winning that series in 6 or 7. They have the size to slow the Devils through the neutral zone, and a good enough goalie in Sorokin to steal a game or two.

Assuming you mean "if they lose in the first round again," which begs the question: Does Matthews resign with Toronto if they fail to see the second round both this playoffs and next?

Bert-Berg-Pasta
JDB-Zacha-Lysell
Lauko-Coyle-Fred</div></div>
Works for me, too. Lysell played LW in junior, too. Maybe he'd be willing to try it out for an NHL debut if it came to that. Merkulov is more natural at LW, though.
Koppanen deserves a shot next season. Looked really good in his short stint earlier this year. Great guy to have in the fourth line with his size and face off ability

I know they can, which is wild considering the start to the season that they had (in terms of missing Marchy and Mac and Grizz, plus a brand new head coach). I'd rest as many guys as possible against NJ and the leafs, because while neither of them are innately physical or "dirty" teams, they both have the biggest incentive to run at Boston's top guys (easier to beat the Bs in a series when they're missing guys). Would love to see some of the young AHLers come up to play those games.

Meant to run the current top 6, my bad.
Wasn't sure what to do with the 4th unit, Nosek is the least talented of the bunch so I scratched him but he probably does play due to his face-off ability.
Freddy and Hathaway definitely play a "playoff style" of game, but Foligno is such a great presence on the team and is a talented bottom-sixer, too. A good problem to have if you're Monty and trying to sort this out

70 games in. For the sake of saving time, just look at the last few posts, and you’ll get the idea that these predictions have trended similarly since game 1. That has yet to change at game 70. I’ll wait till the season is over before reposting on here.

Agreed Fliggy will be in the lineup but not sure of his return time. Looking like Hall will be back first.

Thanks. I don’t know if I’m even going to be able to finish this years Draft Guide by the off-season. Not nearly the same amount of spare time as last year, and way more for me to do. I’ll do a mock draft post once the regular season ends, and then probably a Bruins draft board prior to the draft. But as for the output I had last year for draft content, far less I’m afraid.

Next season
I think the move on LD is to move Grizz, as you did, and put Ahcan in his place. Very similar capabilities in the way of puck moving and better power play QB capabilities. Sign a 800K or less 7D, let Lohrei play AHL full time.
Keep Lauko. That package doesn't get Holloway anyhow and Lauko can play third line if needed instead of Holloway. I'd run the lines:
Marchand-Monahan/FA Center-DeBrusk (Keep Marchy-JDB chemistry, I like the fit of Monahan)
Lauko-Zacha-Pastrnak (Czechmates lite)
Hall-Coyle-Lysell (Keep Hall and Coyle together, let Lysell learn from two vets with different skill sets)
Frederic-Koppanen-Hathaway (Gritty line, I like Beecher as the 4C and think he's ready but Koppanen impressed me in his NHL stint and face-offs are ridiculous)
Ahcan-McAvoy (Grizz lite with McAvoy, Grizz-Mac works so why not try this)
Lindholm-FA RD (I like Mayfield as a fit but split Lindholm and McAvoy to maximize both's usage and touches)
Forbort-Carlo (Gives Bruins big 3 defensemen their own pair to anchor, shutdown pair that plays similar minutes to Lindholm/FA RD)

5 BOLD predictions for the Bs this year
60 Games in, let's go:
1) Still 2 ppg scorers for the Bruins, being Marchand and Pastrnak. Bergeron, DeBrusk, Krejci, and McAvoy all sport .75 ppg paces or better as well. AND LET'S NOT FORGET Dmitry Orlov's totally-sustainable 132 point pace with the Bruins since joining the squad.
2) No more hope for youth joining the squad, with Hathaway and (apparently as I write this) Tyler Bertuzzi joining the club. Maybe a game at the end when everyone's resting, but maybe not even then with now 14 (when healthy) NHL forwards on the roster and 8 defensemen.
3) Linus has been a superhero for this Bruins team, and an elite goal scorer to boot. I mean, 31-4 with a sub-2 GAA and .938 save %? Ridiculous. And let's not forget Swayman, who I think has flown a bit under the radar with the team's success and Ullmark's ridiculous year. 15-4 with a 2.33 GAA (6th in the NHL among eligible goalies) and a .916 save % (tied for 11th with Juuse Saros). Good progression for a young goalie who kind of disappointed last year.
4) Over 82 games, Krejci is on pace for 19.4 goals (just shy of my predicted mark) and 70 points (well over the predicted mark). I'll take it.
5) Here's the Bruins 10-game splits since starting the year:
Games 1-10: 9-1 (W W W L W W W W W W) 18 Points
Games 11-20: 8-2 (W L W W W W W W W L) 16 Points
Games 21-30: 7-1-2 (W W W SOL W L W W SOL W) 16 Points
Games 31-40: 8-0-2 (W W W SOL W OTL W W W W) 18 Points
Games 41-50: 6-3-1 (L W W W W W W L OTL L) 13 Points, considered the "slump" of the season
Games 51-60: 9-1 (W L W W W W W W W W) 18 Points

It does make sense, though. Remarkable that Sweeney added to the team and gained cap space. One of Zboril or Reilly moving out could add the space for one more piece
