<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>That’s your perogative. You are the GM on this one. However. The B’s have been in need of a top 6 RW all season. Pasta is the only one on the team. Not many on the market. Stone is averaging a point a game on a bad team. At 25 and an RFa at seasons end he’s not a rental. We’d have control over him provided we’d have the cap space available to sign him. With Lingren, Lauzon, Urho V in the system at LD Zboril is expendable. With Marchy, Heinen, Debrusk entrenched for years to come at LW, Bergy, Krejci at C with JFK, Donato, Frederic, Studnicka waiting Spooner who is also an RFA at seasons end and looking for a raise is expendable. I like Bjork and his potential, rather have Stione now and for the next few years and he could be a difference maker in the playoffs.
Your offer of Vatrano/Miller/3rd for him would be like them offering Nick Shore/Oduya/3rd for Pasta. We’d laugh at it. Not sure if it’s just Stone you don’t like or if you have a case of homeritis and overvalue the playes on your own team, but if that’s the kind of value you set you’d have a hard time making trades as a GM for real. Not saying this to be a dick, please don’t take it that way. Just being construcive..</div></div>
It is a case of me being out of touch with hockey for this past year. I am trying to catch up and I guess Stone has flown under my radar for the past few years. The more I think about it and am hearing about Lindgren, Zboril is more expendable than at first glance. I have always liked the idea of Zboril on this team as a two way D. Granted all of this has since been blown out of the water! lol

I like the way this guy thinks. I would be more willing for Spooner and a 1st for Brassard. Then work out other deals to address needs and still have assets available.

I have a hard time giving up those picks for Brassard who has 1 YL and will be a 3rd line center. I want to get rid of Belesky and Spooner as much as the next guy but I want to add to our assets by trading them not give away more with them. Granted I know to get rid of Beleskey you may need to give up something. Riley Nash is a viable 3rd line center so I would think we should focus on getting a D man or RW. Just my 2 cents. Not to mention we would have no picks in the first 3 rounds.

Ooof yea that is going to be rough. I would say a bridge deal for McAvoy would be ideal but he is the kind of player you can justify not doing that for. Probably 4.5-5.5M on a bridge deal or 6.5-7M on long term contract. (I Hope). OEL will probably pull close to 8M i would think. Either way yes, worse things to spend a lot of money on.

Not terrible by any means. If that is the start of the convo I would try Bjork instead of Debrusk... I think the organization is partial to him. I know I am lol So maybe Krug, Bjork and a 1st (I have a hard time giving a 1st for 1 YL but we do have a wealth of young players I guess we can let someone else have a chance. Maybe a 2nd conditional 1st if he signs?

It is funny I just tried making my own ARMChair GM team and I have a trade with Krug in a package going to Ari for OEL.
The contract is too much for a 3rd pair specialist when you have cheaper options available for similar skillset.

How do you figure... please do enlighten me. What part is so ridiculous? If there is a part let me know and I can work on it. I am trading away Krug, Spooner and a 2nd for a guy with 1 year left on his deal. The only other major move is signing Z who isn't going anywhere and Grabner who will get a contract above 3.5M less than 5M

Not bad. I think Vatrano might get a 3rd/4th. And I would want to see if we could make our pick for Bailey a 3rd conditional if he signs to be a 2nd. Grez I like becuase he is a cheaper Krug. I would much rather find a way to trade Krug. And you would probably get a bigger return on Krug.

Then I am out. No need to give away a lot for him. We are in a good place right now and we have the luxury of waiting for the right deal. We don't HAVE to make a move.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>Lol, way off. For starters the original posters offer is probably not enough to get Stone.
Czarnik/Vatrano have little trade value and won’t bring much more than 4th-6th. Spooner has upped his game but still his max value is late late 1st.
Your offer wouldn’t even be enough to get a Zach Smith, JG Pageau, Dzingel type.</div></div>
Then I don't want to do the deal. That would be my offer and I wouldn't budge. I don't need stoner. I just didn't like what we were giving up.

I think this is way too much to give up. Maybe more players or the like a Czarnik/Vatrano variety, and I am keeping Zboril. I think McQuaid or K. Miller would be better to shed some cap and get rid of that redundancy. Spooner I would think has a lot of value right now and he is doing his part in making a run in the playoffs. I would like to trade him for something for sure but he has a lot of value I think. Maybe Vatrano, Miller, and a 3rd?

So if signed to a 7 year it would be 49/5 for AAV but 49/7 for actual cap hit.

I want OEL and Eberle just as much as the next guy but not sure this is how you do it. Also Stempniak is $3M. And don't spend that money on Krug. We have plenty with C. Miller, O'Gara, Grezlyk, Zboril, Morrow, Carlo, etc. No need to overpay a guy that can be replaced. Krug is a 3rd pair specialty player.

Why in the world would you resign Connolly?! So much young talent ready to play. Also they don't need Krug (ie. O'Gara, Zboril, Miller, Morrow, Grezlyk, etc.). Jimmy needs to go. And Stempniak will cost close to $3M.

Resign Eriksson before you get Vanek. Krug is gone probably trade his rights for a pick. No need to sign Kelly with all the young players we have. Keep Griffith and I keep that Brodin trade minus Vanek. I think Seidenberg can be part of a bigger trade as well.

No way they get rid of Connor. Not enough for Shattenkirk. Not enough for the rights to Vatanen. Hall is an interesting one that could happen and the Zetterberg is interesting as well. Pens would be all for that but I am not sure Edm wants to give all that away for him.
