Detroit Red Wings 2024 Season
One of the better Detroit ACGMs I’ve seen in a good while lol. Obviously optimistic on some things but a far cry from some of s*** on this site. Would love the look of this team.

It’s fantastic. It feels like your still downtown in Detroit even when your in the arena. Part of me hates it because the Joe was something special, but at the same time LCA makes it look like it was a minor league barn.

I was actually at that game lol
I remember telling my wife I hoped he eventually makes the team full time. She seemed confused due to how good he looked. I told her he is still a long shot but if he hits that’s a huge win. Jury is still out but it’s a no risk / high reward keeping him around.

Maybe stick to teams you understand? Pretty sad attempt at a Detroit team. Unless your point was to take the team back a step.

Zadina with the worst plus minus in the league this year and Raymond wasn’t far behind. Marner is soft but he’s actually great defensively and is a much smarter player than Raymond. Tanner Jeannot is a much better player than Zadina cus he’s physical and is a great role player. Raymond puts up decent points but he’s nothing special offensively. I would rather have Jeannot at his price rather than paying Raymond 8 million per. You should change your username it’s really bad</div></div>

Detroit needs to remove a D or two before adding another overpriced one. Chiarot/Maata/Holl/Petry are on the roster. Adding Risto is just more of the same.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FarhanLuigi</b></div><div>He makes 4.8M, elite skater with 62 points. He's not Ghostbear.
He's always been incredibly talented but was played into the ground in Florida then was a monster in Pittsburgh by every metric.
I dont think the Habs should trade him for magic beans. I do realize 95% of everyone here would rather trade every decent player for a 1st round pick but that isnt a great strategy as Mtl found out with Arturi Lehkonen for a 1st and 2nd which many called too much at the 2022 TDL yet he's irreplaceable in Colorado, today!
Matheson is also irreplaceable in Montreal and I dont think Kent Hughes is going to give away another foundational piece just to make a trade for magic beans.
This a cap league and a top pair D at 4.8M with term and still young. You dont trade that kind of known asset.</div></div>
I didn't say he wasn't good lol however I do feel like you vastly underestimate Ghost (offensively).
Value is different to every team, so to Detroit, why waste the draft capital when they can re-sign a guy they know works for them? That is working on a short term problem when bigger problems are elsewhere.
There is also the chance that he doesn't replicate his first and only 60+ season being on a new/different team.

Maybe wrong team but seider the only puck moving dmen on that team but doesnt have mathesons elite skating and pp type of playmaking</div></div>
When that team doesn’t need offense but does need to stop teams, no they don’t need him. Detroit also has Edvinsson, Walman, Maata, Chiarot with rumors they want Ghost back if it’s workable. Ghost is essentially MM offensively.
Just like MTL, Detroit has a bevy of LHD prospects for when Maata is gone next year (replaced by AJ/Wallinder) and Chiarot the year following (Wallinder/Buium).
Maybe you get that return for him, but I don’t think it will be THAT much, and certainly not from a team like Detroit.

Petry is gone after this year, Holl can and probably gets bought out. All it means is that Detroit can’t retain guys like Perron/Kane as easy, if at all, and will have to rely on cheaper stop gaps until (Burgers,Soda,Mazur,Danielson,Kasper) arrive with ELCs.

No, there is a misunderstanding by outside fans who don’t understand the direction this team is going. This team was projected to finish 7th in the Atlantic. Only 3 of SY’s draft picks are on the team with a bulk of “who he picked” set to arrive at the end of bad contracts.
When this team overachieved, the goal has now become playoffs, however not at the cost of long term contention. A flash in the pan run followed by more mediocrity and rebuilding is not the goal.

Pick 25ish in what is considered a weaker draft to obtain a kid that won't be with the Wings for another 3+ years or may not pan out at all. Meanwhile Ras fits the bill as a middle 6 plug that can play up and down the lineup, has great size and can also take draws. He is at a solid age, and has a solid contract. Prior to his injuries (slowly becoming a concern) he was finding his stride.
You also added in Dvorak which is for cap purposes I get, but I don't see him being anything more than a 4th line player.
