Elias told me himself, I swear this is a done deal... wink wink

Crosby
Lindholm
Ross down the middle
You're welcome!!</div></div>
Nope we're keeping RyJo AND signing Stephenson, Next year's third line is Ross, Chandler and Joey!

I completely understand how this helps CBJ but it's quite unrealistic for the other teams.</div></div>

Well I'm an Avs fan. Curious what Buffalo fans think of the offer... Just think they would rather a solid puck moving defenseman on an ELC who is close to NHL ready in Behrens and a potential scoring threat in Olausson for their 3rd line plus a first and 3,rd chips... Still doubt Buffalo moves Mitts but maybe with them locked into Tage and Cousins long term maybe they move Mitts.

Testing Value
The Avs being interested in Kreider requires a couple of things, 1) They are committing to an internal option to fill the 2C (i.e Rantanen) and trading RyJo, or they are dealing a defenseman to free up cap space. 2) Landeskog confirmed to not be returning. While I think it is a bit far-fetched, it is possible. I think he would be a good fit on the Avs as well. I do see the price for Kreider with retention for the next 3.5 seasons being higher than a likely late first round pick.

Avs 2C my take
The Sabres give up on this season and trade a 25 year old center with 42 points in 49 games this season for an up and coming prospect center and a late 1st round pick. A mini-mini-mini-retool involving one player from their roster. Ritchie should hit his prime roughly around the same time as guys like Jack Quinn, Peterka, Kulich, Benson etc. Not a bad fit.
Col now:
Drouin - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Parise - Mittelstadt - Lehkonen
Wood - Colton - O'Connor
Cogliano - Johansen - Kiviranta/Olofsson
Col when Valeri is back from his time away:
Drouin - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Lehkonen - Mittelstadt - Nichushkin
Parise - Colton - O'Connor
Wood - Johansen - Cogliano

I don’t disagree necessarily but this is always a sticking point with fans. What does Philly think of Foudy and OO? Do they need that? Nope, they need young Dmen. One spot we have an abundance in prospect pipeline is LHD. So to me, with the prices set from Lindholm and Monohan. The Term left on Laughtons Contract and filling Dcore out with RHD putting Bo back to his strong side. I’d say it’s a no brainer. Barron & Helleson, you Give AF that they’re gone? How they doin? We are win now mode. In 5 years when Guly might MIGHT hit. Who knows how we are.

You're going to insist on hanging onto an aging guy that will hit UFA after next season when you're being offered a 22 y/o D with top-pair talent? If that isn't an "absurd overpay," I'm not sure what is. That is a deal most GM's would take in a heartbeat and one CMac would never offer anyhow.

There may be a slight learning curve going back into that role, because he’s been placed into mostly a winger role in jersey because we have Jack and Nico, but he’s 22 and is developing every day.

Ryjo beheading
I reckon Chicago would do this. Dach's a solid prospect but I'm willing to bet they can find a better player at 29th-32nd. Or they can use that COL 1st + TBL 1st and move up into the early 10s.
I could see Chicago icing Johansen next year and potentially building back his value before flipping him, but I'd rather just buy him out.
Personally think there's no way Colorado does this, Tyler Johnson's a shell of his former self. Often injured, limited production, he isn't going to give you value on the penalty kill. It's really all name brand value. If he's healthy he might have a bit left in him to be a useful third liner for a contender but I wouldn't target him if I were the Avalanche.

Trades a joke and Hanifin won't extend in LA so the trade isn't happening.</div></div>
Lol. I love it when someone brings heat and simultaneously makes a complete a** of themselves.
4,950,000 x .75 = 3,712,500.

RyJo Show
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TJTwolf</b></div><div>May not be Fleury but it's quite possible it's what the Avs do, or at least something like. Back up G and then maybe a depth D and a 4C at the deadline as well.</div></div>
Honestly, there are only 2 issues with RyJo: his skating and his scoring.
Hoping Val is healthy and well before playoffs, if you put RyJo between Val and Lehky, I think the other two will drive play enough to the point where that doesn't matter (not to mention the Byrams and Girards that will most likely be on the back end during his shifts). And if not Val, maybe Kovalenko (assuming all goes well with him too). RyJo has been his best when he has drivers/enforcers around him to help with that.
And his scoring, yes it's not great. But, 30 points is something, and maybe that's all he needs. Mac and Mikko are having unreal years (Mac especially), and LOC continues to chip in along with the rest ofcthe roaring 20s line. Val has been a monster while he's been playing, and you get an occasional 4th line goal. On top of that, Makar and Toews continue to produce, alongside Buram, Manson, and Girard here and there. Heck, even JJ has a few goals. All this to say, with a Hart caliber Nathan MacKinnon leading an insane top 9 and being backed by an elite D core, is a 30 point 2C ok? Sure. Don't get me wrong, I'd love an improvement. But realistically, is Adam Henrique gonna be better? Or Jack Roslovic etc? No. So, maybe just give the depth more depth, give Georgie rest, and go for it.
Unless an insane offer comes like Brock Nelson or Boone Jenner lol.
