Tyler Johnson isn’t any better than RyJo and adding a 1st is crazy.

I reckon Chicago would do this. Dach's a solid prospect but I'm willing to bet they can find a better player at 29th-32nd. Or they can use that COL 1st + TBL 1st and move up into the early 10s.
I could see Chicago icing Johansen next year and potentially building back his value before flipping him, but I'd rather just buy him out.

Personally think there's no way Colorado does this, Tyler Johnson's a shell of his former self. Often injured, limited production, he isn't going to give you value on the penalty kill. It's really all name brand value. If he's healthy he might have a bit left in him to be a useful third liner for a contender but I wouldn't target him if I were the Avalanche.

Hawks likely aren't trading Dach, even with that 1st included in the deal. And Kiviranta adds no value for the Hawks, so take him out. So Hawks counter w/ Johnson 50% retained and the Ottawa '24 3rd for Ryjo and the '24 1st.

No. It's a matter of value. Sure, CHI could probably find a comparable or better player with that pick, but if you add up what it costs to dump RyJo, the cost of acquiring Dach, adding the 3rd and TJ with 50% retained, that 1st round pick isn't enough, and Kiviranta is worthless to CHI.

Take out Dach and CHI at least thinks about it.
