Description
First trade comes from @SMH. I wish you the best in your attempt to get another first for RyJo at the next TDL!

Second trade is a variation on a trade from @Hammerwise. I removed Johansen since he is gone in the first trade and added a third coming back to Colorado as a result. If (and I know it's a big if) Philly is willing to move on from Frost, I think this is a decent return.

Third trade is mine. As mentioned many times, SJ has only one retention slot left, so moving Kahkonen at full salary, even if the pick is a round or so later, might be pretty desirable for them.

I think the Habs decline, this trade is too good for us, we're SuckinForMacklin mode now, Jake Evans as our 2nd C is perfect

Byram for Frost? Straight up! And I'm a huge Bo Byram fan so this would break my heart a little.

If SJ doesn't plan on re-signing KK then sure that's a good deal.

If no one wants that deal for 1.5 years of RJ @ 4m then I'm sure the sharks would take him on for that 2nd.

I love Byram, but given Flyers need down the middle I don't see it happening

I wouldn't do that. The idea is to keep everyone (except RyJo) but also add. One of the appeals with Frost is his affordable contract.

I think you can dump Johansen and find a better fit at 4C for cheaper than a 2nd

I like the Frost trade and the Kahkonen one is good too

Idk, maybe. I'd be happy if that were the case.

I think Evans would be a good 4C. Maybe they have to trade him again after the year to keep the band together, but I think it will be doable.

It's only one year and half of his salary is retained by Nashville so he only costs 4M.

Yup, 50% retention gets him to 2M. Some other guy who made right around 2M just got traded for a first. That would be best case scenario. A more reasonable scenario is an additional 2nd or 3rd, and at worst you get a functional but overpaid player for only one more year.

I like the Habs deal. I would do that. I think the Frost deal is a little pricey. Not sure he's the right guy for you guys right now. SJ deal is about right.

Yeah 4m is a lot for a pretty bad player. 18 points in 49 games is bad. Thats a cap dump of at least 2nd and a 3rd. Then you have to pay for Evans which is probably a 3rd or 4th. Habs dont really need 3rds or 4th rounders so if you made it 2 2nds with Johansen or a 1st if the Habs add a 3rd

A second round pick is not enough to take on Johansen's contract. Habs got a 1st to take Monahan. Johansen's contract is worse.

You may be forgetting just how bad Monahan's contract really was. $6.375M for 23 points in 65 games. RyJo is $4M for 18 points in 49 games. Pretty much a wash on scoring but over 2M less for Johansen.

Edit: Or maybe you're forgetting that Nashville is paying half his salary.

Are you saying that PHI offered Gauthier for Byram, and COL said No????

I don't see COL being interested in giving up a roster player (while going for another Cup run), for a prospect that might not even play this year.
I can see a roster player for a roster player though. I think Frost for Byram is a win-win.

Yes, allegedly COL told Philly they would have to add more if they wanted Byram
