the tuna for jp
I like most of this, probably have to give a bit more for tatar and im not sure if I'd sign engelland, plus Connolly might want a little more cash but IMO everything is plausible for all teams involved. If Oilers had an off-season like this i might even hope again

Thats assuming you could get a second, which is doubtful atm. Buts thats just me arguing, I agree with you but i also dont think that this trade is far off in value, i think oilers would lose in this one tho but we're doing that already when we ****ed up his development

Way to solve the Marner situation
Oh shut up and relax, he'll get signed. Im an oilers fan and when Drai got signed it was for to much especially compared to pasternack and elhers but we signed him long term and now it looks like a steal. Even if you have to over pay he's really good, and an absolute joy to watch.
PS. My tone may seem hostile but I assure you it was said in a comforting voice

I do that, i dont really like Vlad much but id do this deal, if you trade him for a second or third round pick there's no guarantee that the pick would play the amount of games Namestnikov would in one season

I agree, thats far to much for Mantha, wingers dont have the value defenceman have, tho Krug is older. Also Pavelski will probably get the modern version of the marleau contract if not more, 7/8 mil on a shorter term

Im not against trading pulji, but Edmonton needs fast wingers more than it needs a 4/5 defenceman, a pick and low end prospect. Basically pulji even if he is a bust helps us more than gudas and and a pick will over the next few years

As an Edmonton fan I'd do that trade real fast as well, and do you really like 4th rounders?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SJH</b></div><div>It's only a bad contact if the player isn't worth it. Seriously watch the games man. The big factor here is Gardiner who, despite all of his screw ups, is an analytics darling. That crowd (I'm talking to you Adam Wilde) basically promoted the narrative that Zaitsev sucks because well if Zaitsev sucks, then Gardiner must be good. Funny how the moment Zaitsev was able to ditch Gardnier as a partner his season turned around wasn't it?</div></div>
Hey now, as a SDP listener i must object to your slanderous accusations of Adam Wilde, which is weird because as an Oilers fan i normally hate his guts. Also i really wanted to use the words slanderous accusations in a sentence

Projected Leafs Next Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SJH</b></div><div>From what I can tell he seems like a lighter version of Ed Jovanovski/Bryan McCabe/Dion Phaneuf. He can hit, he can shoot, he can skate, but like all three of the previously mentioned it looks like he lacks Weber's airtight defensive decision-making. At least that is what I'm seeing having looked into him a bit.</div></div>
Pretty much, hes still good defensively tho, id say take Weber, make him slightly worse in almost every category except for skating, hes better than Weber at that, hits hard, bomb of a shot, and would probably be your best defenseman at clearing the front of the net

Dumba is a nice piece but the price is waaaay too high. Zaitsev, the 1st and another mid rounder maybe. Not sure if Nylander/Dumba straight across is an even deal. Don't know Dumba well enough to say. I'm allergic to mistake prone defensemen. Don't know where he rates there.</div></div>
Think shea weber but lite version, still a monster tho

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Weezley</b></div><div>What? So they win by offer sheeting him 10.5m but they also win if Toronto matches? ?</div></div>
Yep, they can either screw Toronto by getting one of their best players (turnabout is fair play) or give them a slight cap headache. If Lou did this to Toronto NYI fans would love him forever and i could watch all the drama from a safe distance so i win as well

Off Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jcash08</b></div><div>I think it would benefit both teams. Boston gets cap relief a good RW behind Pasta. and Gives them another good center prospect which they are lacking. Edmonton gets Krug to bolster their power play and a a winger who could jump into the top 9</div></div>
I doubt this would happen tho, the cap relief comes at the cost of krug who is very good and puljavrii and mccloud arent nearly enough for one of the better defencemen in the nhl, plus backes has less years left on his deal than Lucic
