Is Monahan actually available
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Not unless Calgary is getting Eichel</div></div>
i respect you a lot but Monahan has not been playing like a 1C since 18-19. his WAR is around 63 percent. hes a solid 2C. but nowhere near Eichel level. this boston trade is fair price but it does nothing for the flames so they certainly decline.

Doesn’t that make sense to you? A player who’s primary weapon is his legs didn’t do well, older players who don’t rely on speed did better.
So the thing about him wanting out of boston and being unhappy there is based onnnnn? Nothing? Absolutely nothing? An instagram post you saw?</div></div>
Based on the fact he requested a trade a few months back, and the fact his ice time was cut in half. Hes not happy in boston.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>Sure. Don’t really care about advanced stats, but ya. That drop off in goals is crazy for a guy that was playing at a 25 goal per 82 pace over his career before that. Which option do you think is more likely:
1. A 24 year old just forgot how to play hockey
2. A shortened off season, no pre season, and a weird pandemic season affected debrusk more than most players.
One of those is logical, one of those is not.</div></div>
its not that he forgot how to play hockey lol. i think that he is unhappy in boston and would like out. his ice time was also cut significantly. also the pandemic argument is nonsensicle because look at players like Fleury and Jeff Carter who's careers were likely extended due to much needed rest. there are lots of examples of players who just burn out on their current teams. can debrusk bounce back? absolutely. is it more likely to bounce back somewhere other than boston? also yes.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>What makes you think that?</div></div>
i mean 5 goals and 9 assists in 41 games says a lot. on pace for only 10 goals in a full season. plus his advanced stats have dipped a lot.

any team with a debrusk like player wouldnt trade for him because there would be no point. and boston certainly wouldnt downgrade on him.

i guess my point is that debrusk doesnt really help them right now in a bottom 6 role.

there are a lot of guys that are out there that could fill that top 6 role. rakell is certainly one of them.

theyre on the decline, and debrusk definitely needs a fresh start elsewhere. 2023 doesnt look like a bad draft and Foudy isnt a terrible prospect. this is likely the most they could get for debrusk because his stock is falling a lot.

Bergevin must agree since he added Chiarot, Edmundson, Savard and Anderson since.
Oh, and they still dont have a puck moving defenseman apart from Petry...
Caufield did hold his ground during the playoffs though. I'll give him that.</div></div>
Wow thats very interesting. Ive never seen a habs fan who is not to the moon on caufield. But the question is whether the habs could have drafted a nhl ready petry level puck mover at 15. I think not, but even if they did, the likelyhood that hed be ready for the 2021 run would be unlikely at best.

boston is one of the best defensive teams in the entire league. cant pull up the analytics because im at work right now but halak was absolutely boosted by a strong defensive clinic.

his name is still on the 2011 cup. and making the final twice is pretty good. if he has won in 2013 or 2019 i say absolutely. would you consider Henrik Lundqvist a hall or famer?
