Muzz was a beast and has been missed. Your right as well he wont be leaving but the contract will be. Hoping they can resign Edmundson, really reminded me of Muzz.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CoryTheGreat</b></div><div>I think merzlikens is actually a good goalie stuck on a horrible team.</div></div>
Then he’s all yours!
Goalies are voodoo. Unless you luck into a Saaros, Vasilvesky, Shesterkin, etc., it’s so difficult to predict. Particularly in a league where <a href="https://www.stat.cmu.edu/cmsac/sure/2023/showcase/hockey_saves/report.html" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">scoring is increasing, and even great goalies have diminishing save percentages and GAA.</a>
We <a href="https://thebuzz414379540.wordpress.com/2021/11/29/the-rise-and-fall-of-matt-murray/" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">see it</a> all of <a href="https://insidetherink.com/the-fall-of-blues-goaltender-jordan-binnington/" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">the time,</a> across <a href="https://edmontonjournal.com/sports/hockey/nhl/cult-of-hockey/edmonton-oilers-waive-jack-campbell-what-does-it-mean" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">good teams</a> and <a href="https://www.latimes.com/sports/hockey/story/2023-03-16/kings-joonas-korpisalo-jonathan-quick-goalies-drew-doughty" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">bad teams.</a> Elvis could very well turn the corner in TOR, but so much more goes into that than “he’s on a horrible team.”
IMO, it’s the BOS’ and CAR’s of the world who have such profoundly great D systems that they can turn most any G into a great one.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CoryTheGreat</b></div><div>Not commenting on trade value, but the leafs need size and some bite in the top 4 on the right vs a small puck mover like Lily. How about a deal centred around Murphy for Lily?</div></div>
Something around those two players could work. But it definitely won't include a 1st going to TOR.

Crazy how different deadline conversations would be if Muzzin was healthy. Always like watching him and hated when he was on the Kings.

Only way Pesce is available would be if you are able to agree to an extension, give a return high enough to support the move, and the Canes are able to find a suitable replacement…
A lot of moving parts here. Mainly the fact that Pesce would be very unlikely to waive an NTC or sign an extension in Toronto.

The proposal with the Hawks is interesting, I think it would come down to Chicago really wanting a player who is available when the Leafs pick is on the clock.

Well done. Nothing sexy, but realistic. Everything here is reasonable. I dont know if CHI would retain on Murphy for 2.5 yrs though after doing it with McCabe, the nect few years are different circumstances now tbat they have Bedard in tow.

GM's generally only scout the first 2 rounds or so. The. They leave the rest to their scouting staff. Tre definitely drafted Cowen, it seemed like a pretty signature pick when he took him last June. Minten is technically one of Dubas' picks but I think the org values him very highly

Marner won’t walk. He loves being a Pajama boy. Leafs should play hard ball with him and pretend to walk, watch him come crawling back with a discount in mind for him to stay.

Vladar has played very well his last few games. He started out the season rough but is definitely on the upswing. Samsonov's mental is shot. At least with Vladar you are getting a similar caliber goalie who isn't doubting himself every time he steps on the ice. You are also adding a big difference maker in Tanev here and saving cap

doubt a luxury ta ever happens in the nhl. If the cap jump lets say 110 as you have it, mcdavid salary will be closer to 20 millions lol.

I don't think it's entirely out of the question, but still a long shot. It really depends on how much success EDM will have over the next couple of years. Realistically the Oilers will offer him a massive 8-year deal a year before he hits UFA.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoSeider53</b></div><div>Marner and Nylander get at least $1,000,000 more than what you're offering them.
Good luck convincing yourself that Bertuzzi is going to sign for $5,000,000 per year. You're at least $1,000,000 short on him as well.
And yeah Noah Hanifin isn't signing long term with any Canadian team, Reports are that he's more than likely heading home to Boston. He wants out of Canada period</div></div>
It's going to be so great when the Leafs avoid paying Marner more than 11.5 mill and Nylander more than 10.5 mill...
And Bert wants term... So, 5 by 6 would be more convincing for him than 6 by 2
And leaving this here: https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/noah-hanifin-on-toronto-mcdavid-and-nhl-draft/
"When asked about the possibility of landing with the Maple Leafs, the 18-year-old native of Norwood, Massachusetts spoke highly of Toronto’s tradition of being a hockey town.
'I’ve been to Toronto a bunch of times and it’s an unbelievable city,' he said. 'The hockey environment there is so special and if it ever works for me to be in Toronto, it’d be such an honour.'"

Yeah but knowing Sullivan, he'll put him on the 4th line. If I trusted the coach of the Pens to play him then maybe. I just don't see him playing over Guentzel or Reilly so he would be on the Pens 3rd line too.
Your trade offer isn't bad, and I think your counter is more than fair. I just don't know how he would fit on the Pens.

I'm not fully sold on it either, I'm just going by current projections. If we were in full tank/rebuild mode and were in last place I wouldn't truly complain about this package, though I would be bitter about Frost. He's having a rebound right now so hopefully that whole spit is over with.

Sammy has to go down or find a way to move him. Team has 0 confidence playing in front of him.
