If you somehow had to trade Power, return has to be Chychrun + Logan Cooley at min. Power just went #1 overall

We aren’t trading a guy that wears an “A” for your egregious Cap Dump
You’d have to pay us *significantly* to take Wheeler off your hands
And why would be he waive to come here anyways??</div></div>
From Frank Seravelli "The early sense is Wheeler may be willing to consider a proposed destination that also is not on his list, if it’s a proper fit for his family and career." So, who knows maybe it would be a team like Buffalo. Id disagree with him being described as a "cap dump", he's still a solid NHL player who can play on any teams PP, and contribute at 5 on 5, he has 106 points in his past 115 games. He's not ascending, but he's also not regressing at such a rate where you'd scratch him or bury him in the AHL for example....Oh, and he wears a C, not just an "A".

The worst in the NHL: https://www.nhl.com/stats/teams?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20212022&seasonTo=20212022&gameType=2&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=a_faceoffWinPct&page=0&pageSize=50
Only Eakin had a good FO % but it is unlikely he will be wearing a Sabre sweater next year.

I think that the general consensus out here is that Grans for Johnson is a great idea, but we certainly don't need another young left-handed forward because we're overloaded with LWs and Cs. <a href="/users/littlejerryseinfeld" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@littlejerryseinfeld</a> is right here: just take out mittelstadt and turcotte.

He's done really well, nobody can deny that, but if the adams decides that a few larger vets are what this team needs to go to the next level, he won't be automatically gifted a spot on the roster (like so many first round picks in the last 10 years).

Boston taking this
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DDossett</b></div><div>So do you like the deal? Is there something there the bruins would like in cap savings and a scorer?</div></div>
the cap savings is nice for foligno wise but haula is on a steal of a deal his 5v5 offence and defence has been amazing and since moving to the 2nd line has been on a 60+ point pace in 82 games hard to find that for 2.35 mill.
if foligno was making 2-2.5 mill i wouldnt move him, his defence has been great he is a solid leader bring good physicality which is needed in playoffs and he has an unrelentless motor he is always hustling even his play driving and offence has improved as the season has gone by
i like olofsson but his style of play doesn't fit boston a whole lot, he is bad defensively and doesn't play physical literally everything B's pride themselves on, he most likely doesn't beat debrusk for RW1 as debrusk is hot and has took a rather big step in his game looks better then he did back before the covid seasons
debrusk currently has 22 5v5 goals out of 24 most those goals coming within the last 30ish games
just a comparison
laine only has 21
svechnikov 21
rantanen 20
B tkachuk 21
E Pettersson 20
william nylander 19
brayden point 18
tom wilson 18
and all those guys are called great scorers some even called elite scorers yet debrusk is outscoring all them 5v5 even in Bruins rather more defensive system and could potentially be higher in total goals if he played PP1 yet no one wanted to even give a 2nd for debrusk at the TD
so ya he doesn't beat out debrusk and his solid all around 200ft game and oloffson would play 3rd line he doesn't fit the design of that role, though is more skilled the frederic, frederic is the near definition of a third line hitter and he has good chem with coyle and smith they have been very successful since being put all on the same line.
value is pretty decent production wise kinda but i just don't think it works out for either team boston style of play doesn't work with olofsson or bjork and i just don't think haula or foligno would help buffalo enough to compete

The argument would be that olofsson still has some growing to do, and haula is a guy that they know fits in their top six. Olofsson hasn’t played an important game in the NHL, haula has. If I’m boston I make the trade, but I’m definitely a little nervous.

Wow, olofsson is good. I can see maybe adding another center to help with d zone starts (or a real #1c, but that's another discussion), but you brought in two guys to play on the wings which is only blocking a guy like Peterka who has graduated from Rochester. Manson is fine if it's only 2 years, I would definitely grab at least one vet goalie, probably two- skip Anderson and tokarski. But I want no part of that Boston trade, if you wanna move olofsson for a young, right d, a guy that checks the defensive, physical, talented boxes, sure. Not for anything like this.

Last I checked he wasn’t having a good year, but yes the last 20 games or so he has been very good (about a PPG in this span). But regardless, his value isn’t gonna be exactly groundbreaking, and isn’t certainly worth the package here

He has 38pts in his last 50gp, which is 62pt pace. That package isn't anything special lol. Bjork is a borderline 13th forward at this point. The 2nd rounder has less then a 18% chance of playing 100 games in the NHL. The only worthwhile piece is Olofsson and Boston doesn't have a spot for him.

Haula is the bruins second line center.
Since becoming the bruins second line center (all of 2022), he’s third on the bruins in even strength points, with 35 in 52 games. For reference, that’s more than guys like kadri, nylander, Tavares, Calgary’s 2nd line center only has 25 over the same stretch. Bennett is florida’s second line center right? He has 27. Point is playing 2nd line center for tampa currently. He has 23. O’Reilly for the blues. 26. Do you want me to keep going through all the good teams in the NHL and what their second line centers do?
Little value, for 2 million and change for this year and next? Really?

As I said, "...make this trade hoping Kravtsov and Georgiev would turn into decent players."
In retrospect if this was offered to the Sabres by Drury, Karmanos would do cart wheels all around Key Center.
Georgiev or Kravtsov may not be traded for a second round pick, but they each have a ceiling of a first round pick.
