I don't think Dufour alone checks the top prospect box.
I think trading away all your 1sts is a bad idea. You'll be the NY Panthers</div></div>
I figure Dobson makes up enough value to cover discrepancies in value, but you're probably right and they'd likely need to include Raty or Holmstrom as well

Saving the season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Warrior24</b></div><div>These trades wouldn’t fix then anyway and set them up to be worse now, and into the future by giving up more 1st round picks.
The season is over, they need to move out Varly, Mayfield and Parise for picks.
Trade Nelson in the offseason, and buyout Bailey.
Then they can look at adding a top line LW and go with:
New LW-Barzal-Wahlstrom
Lee-Raty-Palmeri
Beau-Pageau-Holmstrom
Parise-Cizikas-Fasching
Martin
Clutter
Pelech-Pulock
Romanov-Dobson
Bolduc- New 3 RD
Salo</div></div>
I don't think this season is over yet. If they lose these next three, then yes it is. You cannot punt seasons when you have a goalie as good as Sorokin. Also a little ridiculous to suggest trading Nelson, who's been the best forward on the team for quite some time now.

Islanders never take this. Whether or not the players are good is debatable, but the islanders highly value both martin and clutter. They dont want to lose them, and can shed cap space much more efficiently.

Draisaitl to Detroit AKA How to lose McDavid suggested trade by DSN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>Raymond would be nice but would lead to less pieces, and higher chance that the Oilers lose the trade. I think it would be easier to get more if they went for Larkin (plus they would need a center) and Detroit's 2023 1st unprotected. Can give them Barrie or Kassian to balance the cap.</div></div>
When talking about a player the caliber of Draisaitl, I don't think a return of Larkin+Raymond+both firsts is out of the question. Maybe you can only swing one 1st at that point. Thinking about it more, think I for sure understated it in my previous message.

A 3rd line caliber goalscorer, sure. If he's in your top 6, your team's in trouble.
By the way, you know he didn't score at all with Barzal, right? and only had 1 goal in the tournament? They did not work together.

How the Habs Could Rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>It's not close to terrible. Anderson had 19 goals in 69 games, he's already a 20 goal player, he would of probably gotten 25, in a full season on the top line with good linemates he gets 30. All this with no PP time. All 5on5 scoring which is an asset. Then you add his final aspect. 5.5 million is a good contract, the only ppl that say its a bad deal is a few misinformed ppl here</div></div>
He has scored 20 goals once in his career. That's not my definition of "20 goal player". Seasons that you think he would have gotten 20 goals do not count. He's too slow to play with Barzal, and the Isles 2nd line doesnt need another power forward with it projecting to have both Lee and Nelson. Isles won't be trading for him, and nobody with half a brain is going to be giving up a 1st for him.

I know this isn't yours, but that return is nuts. Think the asking price on Drai starts at Raymond, 2022 1st, Vrana and would likely need more

The Islanders never do this, lol. Anderson's contract is terrible and they don't have the luxury of taking on another $5mil 40 point guy. They have like 4 of those.

Don't think Isles take this, having Scott on such a low cap hit is big for them since they want to compete again this year.

Addressing Leafs Needs
Varlamov trade looks reasonable, not sure about the retained % though. Isles would only move him to save some cap space, and retaining 50%+replacing him is likely the same cost overall.

Don't think ghost would qualify as more efficient, have you seen his contract? Think if NYI does this Sandin is on the 3rd pair and they still go for a bigger play at 2LD. Don't find this trade overly realistic tho, not sure why Toronto would do it.

Offseason into TDL Realistic Maybe

It's not, the only people in the world who think it will happen are Habs fans. No reputable reporter has pushed this rumor, because its nonsense. Isles likely called to gauge the market, and nothing more. There is no chance Lou will bring on another 40-50 point guy.

Realistic Cup Team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rhenry18</b></div><div>I think many people are undervaluing Necas, people are overlooking it because of the year he had in a system he does not fit very well in. With this being said if this is not enough for Dobson, and he is untouchable swap Dobson with Pulock, take the 1st away and swap the 4th with a 3rd, how does that make you feel?</div></div>
Pulock and Dobson both are untouchable for me.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>joshelkin</b></div><div>Pulock is 1/2 of arguably one of the top d-pairs in the NHL with Adam Pelech. He just signed a team friendly 8 year extension and it contains a full NTC. He wouldn’t waive it. Also, from a value standpoint I’m still keeping Pulock</div></div>
Everything said here about Pulock is why.
As for Dobson, he just had 51 points in his first year quarterbacking the PP and with a top-4 role. You don't move a guy like that. Additionally, Isles already have 2 holes on their defense (2LD 3LD), and could be looking at losing Mayfield next year opening up a spot on the right, probably the weakest area of organizational depth at the moment. Pulock and Dobson are the 2 most untouchable skaters on the roster, at least IMO.

Islanders never take this trade. Nobody is giving up a premium asset for a one time 20 goalscorer with 5 years at 5.5 left. Especially not the isles, who have a million dudes who can produce the same with the same cap hit.
