Deadline
If Pesce was not willing to waive his NTC to go to the buffalo in the off season, why would he do it at the deadline? Particularly when the Sabres are all but out of the playoff race.

I think Buffalo would take that deal to free up a spot in the top 6 and get a legit bottom six winger with size.

As a Sabres fan, I don't think the Bruins would do this.

Lundell would be blocked by Tage, Cozens, and mitts (if they resign him).

I don't know if I would expect too much for Okie. If he wanted to be moved, the Sabres would probably trade him to the team if his choosing which will limit his return.

Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RoyBoy</b></div><div>The concept of swapping young players with Buffalo in Mittelstadt and Byram is amazing, the Sabres don’t need another LHD. I know one of Power, Dahlin or Samuelsson usually play the off-side, but adding another lefty just doesn’t make sense to me, even if Byram can play the right side as well. But if Buffalo doesn’t care about that, this deal makes a lot of sense</div></div>
When the Sabres won the presidents cup in 06/07 they had two RHD on the roster, one of which (Mike Card) played 4 games. People really over blow the ability of NHL defensemen being able to play on their off hand. A lot of offensive defensemen (like Dalin) prefer playing on their off hand as outs their stick in the middle of the ice and opens them up for one-timers. It also opens up the passing lanes a bit more on the breakout.

Keeping The First
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sabres89</b></div><div>The Sabres don't need anymore 5'9" forwards. So basically, the Sabres are retaining on olofsson and moving a 3rd for a 5th. They would be better off letting olofsson run out the clock in the pressbox.</div></div>
I agree with this, Just give the Sabres a fifth and I'm sure they will move Olofsson just so they dont have to pay the otehr half of his salary.

I cant see the Sabres trading for Gibson at this point, but if they do My guess is that UPL would be going to the ducks along with other assets.

Fehrevary and a second is certainly closer, but I just think there will be better suiters out there.

I don't think the caps are a good trade partner for Mitts. They want a bigger D in his late 20s. If Jensen was 5 years younger this would work.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>seanrushton</b></div><div>Why would you willingly take on a contract like Trouba's?</div></div>
Because they are getting rid of a contract like Skinners. They have plenty of internal replacements for Skinner, they really lack D of any kind.

Frost is an ideal 3/4 center for the Sabres. Lawton can be a good 4th liner and the first is a first.

I honestly don't have much faith in Savoie at this point and I'm guessing GMs are seeing the same things I am. IMO the Sabres need to move him while he has good value.

Especially with Rosen in there but I'd maybe even consider it without him. HOWEVER, I wouldn't do it until the offseason. Feels too disruptive to pull mid-season if you mean it as a deadline deal, and July 1 gives Boston opportunities to replace Carlo that may not be there at the TDL</div></div>
This would be off season not TDL. I think Rosen gets included because both players are RFAs which depletes their value.

Playoffs
I can't see the Sabres moving Krebs unless it's in a bigger package for an impact player or if it's an overpay. Krebs is good in his role, young, cheap, and controllable. The Sabres don't really have many 3/4 center types in their system so moving in from him just creates another hole they would need to fill.
