Any Takers
JVR is going to decline and is overpaid and we definitely have no use for Ghost now.
Drouin hasn’t exactly played how we hope but he’s making steps toward it and his potential is very high so we keep him and hope him and Suzuki can build some chemistry.

What is up with peoples obsession with making a massive amount of trades and completely trying to change the team. The core of this team is great, we have great prospects coming up. Sure we can add a couple pieces but this changing half the team **** don’t make sense.

There’s no need for that trade....Juulsen will be healthy and is more than suitable as 3 RHD.

Interesting Tatar trade, if the Habs land Hall i would do it for sure. Still have to consider it if he doesn’t. I really don’t want any cap issues so this trade brings in a couple nice prospects that could turn out nicely and save us some cash.

Lias is not what the Habs want or need. Going to have to include someone better than him for us to move Danault.

This doesn’t make sense for the Habs IMO. Seems like Virtanen hasn’t been able to find his game. We have Armia who is fitting in nicely with us and is a solid 3RW. Our right side will be Gally, Caufield, Armia.

Looks pretty damn good to me and going forward we will have Caufield in the lineup as well.
I think Evans deserves that fourth line C role. Cap space may become an issue so Maybe we can’t afford to keep Tatar. Hopefully Lehkonen can find a way to finish more or Poehling can develop into that 3LW.

2021-2022 big choices
I feel like re-signing all of Tatar, Petry, Gally, Danault, Domi may make things difficult when we need to pay Suzuki, Romanov, Caufield. Probably should move on from one of them. Or at the least hope for deals that would be easily moveable and avoid NMC’s.

Trading Danault
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheEarthmaster</b></div><div>The Habs really shouldn't assume that both Suzuki and Kotkaniemi are ready for the show because of a few good games in the bubble.
They're gonna end up doing what Buffalo did with O'Reilly, which is trading him assuming Mittlestadt was ready. And we all know how that worked out for them.</div></div>
Suzuki is ready for a big role he proved that in the playoffs. KK will be given the chance to be 2C but with either Domi or Danault being 3C there won’t be much difference in ice time. He’s not going to be thrown into the fire he’s going to get some skill playing with him in hopes of giving him that push forward.

It’s quite laughable at this point, not only do we have too many LHD on the roster we have more than enough LHD prospects as well.

Laine
Caufield has been hyped every step of the way and has proven his worth every time (screw this years WJC That was the worst coaching display ever). Caufield has every bit of ability to score that Laine has, it makes zerrrro sense to trade 3-4 valuable pieces to acquire Laine, keep the pieces and give Caufield a chance.

As long as you’re not asking for Caufield, KK,Romanov or Suzuki to go with Danault.

Sure Ehlers has a good contract but seems like everyone on here thinks Domi’s next contract is going to be way more. His contract will be similar to Ehlers so therefore you’re getting a 2C for the same cost or close to it.

I get that Jets fans don’t want to move Ehlers I really do, but sometimes you have to move players you don’t want to in order to fill some holes in your lineup. If your GM feels he needs to improve at C and D well one of your good wingers could be gone. I don’t follow the Jets enough to know how well they play defensively but if they need to shut things down better than Danault is a verrry valuable piece to do that.

If you think a 60 point winger is worth a 60-75 point Center, a solid young 3rd pairing D, a young prospect with top 6 potential, two second rounders and the 16th overall pick in a deep draft you need to give your head a shake and lay off the drugs. If you put Domi with Laine he’s going to put up points like he did his first year with us. Centres have more value than wingers, there’s many reasons why this trade is brutal.

What the actual hell is this trade....take away the 1st and the 2nd and it’s still too much....Domi and Fleury for Ehlers that’s fair, add in a 4th if you feel like the Jets need to win the trade.

I get what you're saying for sure. Petry is good. Just figure with him and weber up in age mkving one for a younger guy would fit the team.</div></div>
We got the pieces to make it work. Having our top 4 RHD getting older may not be ideal and potentially should be looked into in terms of how we can get younger but in the end Weber and Petry have shown no signs of slowing down yet so I wouldn’t be tooo concerned at the moment. My hope is that Petry will accept a short term deal and then explore one year deals if both teams are interested.

Sorry should’ve mentioned that of course an extension would be needed for it to be this years pick. Even if Risto isn’t as bad as people think it still doesn’t make sense, it would take a hell of a D man coming our way to move Petry, he’s an under rated D in my mind even if he is 33.

Your idea is terrible for the habs and would make us absolutely brutal next year. Without Danault and Petry this team would get lit up especially with having Risto on the blue line. Danault costs this years first.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Taxtime</b></div><div>Sabres should absolutely do it if they can get an extension. 1 for 1 if they have to.</div></div>
I’m very torn on Danault his defensive ability and 5 on 5 play is amazing and is built for the playoffs. I’d be very sad to see him go and really I only think he goes if he’s trying to get a big time pay. Even if he becomes our 3C the guy will always have an important role on the team. Ultimately I think it will likely be Domi who gets traded. That 8th pick could also give us a very nice young player that could add on to our young core. Sorry for rambling but man Berge is in for a hell of an off season and I am reallly antsy to see what happens.
