Chicago - 2024-25 - Off Season
Taylor Raddysh is a nice prospect at a position of need for the Ducks (RW) who seems to have taken a step backwards this season. However, Anaheim's other position of need is RD, so we won't be trading away our best RD prospect.

Chicago - 2024-25 - Off Season
Ducks decline rather easily. Luneau just missed the majority of the season with an infection but looked good in his cup of coffee. Ducks aren’t trading their top Rhd prospect for a 3rd liner.

If you think someone is retaining $24M on Coots for Sheary I have a bridge to sell you. Coots isn’t getting moved for anything more than $2M retention. Hertl got a 1st and a former 1st round pick with all that retention and he doesn’t have half the resume Coots does. Dude missed 2 years with a back injury and came back and still scored at a 0.5 PPG pace even with being completely burned out the last two months of the season. He will come back even better next year. Any deal for Coots is a similar deal to Hertl.
I’d move Coots with $2M retention for free but I guarantee you the Flyers wouldn’t

Chicago getting better
Take out the 5th going back to the Nucks & Hawks probably play ball. No thanks on the Sens trade. Absolutely not to re-signing Tinordi. I don’t hate the Sprong signing but think they could do better. Unlike my fellow Hawk fans I do not believe they bring in any free agent D-men. Davidson will leave room for the kids to play, yes even RD where there isn’t very much in the pipeline.

I don't think this makes the team any better, Sprong is solid but I don't think they want anything over 2 years at this point unless it's a bonafide top line forward. I think there's a legitimate chance Kane comes back.

895 and maybe 1000 as a Hawk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NickC1988</b></div><div>Chicago has no need for Wilson and his albatross contract that is already one of the worst in the league. There are other ways KD could/should build this team like acquiring RFAs in need of a change of scenery or buying low on someone who underperformed in a difficult situation. This isn't it. Wilson is 30, Ovi is basically coasting to 895, there's no need to even consider this.</div></div>
Oh! Wow! I didn't even realize Wilson had an extension in place. That is awful. WSH would need to pay CHI to take it, for sure.

Davidson is committed to rebuilding the right way . IE not giving up picks & prospects for a 30 year old & a 38 year old that looked like he couldn’t even move his legs in the playoffs. Caps can grab Raddysh in free agency if they want him though, he should be available.

You're trading for Ovi and Wilson and somehow a 1st round pick isn't involved?

Flame On
Los Angeles has no need or reason to trade any of their top 6 forwards, least of all not one but two members of their top line for the past two seasons. Turcotte and the first for two seasons of Markstrom is within the realm of possibility, but only if Markstrom wants to waive his NMC.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>Yes. That's a deal the Hawks would make.</div></div>
It is funny seeing Leaf fans I had to block say this is a bad trade for TML but they just don't have a clue that Athanasiou was just injured he is back and fine.
Just one of the faster skaters in the league usually puts up 40 points on a less then good team and also physical.
And from the GTA!

I would prefer this instead of hey let's stay the same get some old guys March to our doom staring into the void
All of these guys are from 20-24 and we have gotten 1st round exits going the old guy muh veteran route
People forget the lightning thrived originally because we brought in some youth that has been developing in the AHL to be complimented by our veterans that know the system.
Honestly it makes more sense than it looks.

Stamkos discount
Not a snowballs chance in Tampa in July TB gives Dumba 3.5. Lilleberg should and will be 3LD next season. Stamkos on a discount is 5.5 minimum. ABB has proved he's as I've told people for years an AHL player. They resign Chaffee, Gonclaves, Motte all first not sign ABB, Blaise, Watson

So Chicago helps Detroit free up cap space so they can go out and sign all of those players by eating 3 x $5.625m on Copp, their FA signing mistake from two summmers ago, all for the benefit of moving up 1/2 a round and two minor leaguers… I think the Hawks laugh and hang up.

Another Playoff Run
Not that it matters in the grand scheme of things, as Chicago fans have mentioned they would accept this trade previously... but a 25 pick is preferred because we already have 3 2nds in 26.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>I get what your saying on the value of the trade, but the Hawks aren't trading Kaiser, Allen or EDM after one pro season each for any of those Isles forwards. Phillips? OK. But the Hawks are going to give those other 3 at least another season to develop unless it's a deal for a legit, long term piece.</div></div>
I did not word it well, but yes 1 for 1 Phillips would be the only possible from the Hawks standpoint for those forwards....but...I think there is a bigger deal to be made around one of those D invilving a forward with picks and other pieces to even out value that could help both teams.

Chicago laughs and hangs up. There's no way they're taking that much salary on for a single 2nd round pick. Skinner isn't waiving for Chicago anyway.

Really ??? Never seems to have bothered players traded to or signed with to the Raptors or Leafs. But it seems to be a big issue for the tax experts on CapFriendly

I know that some Leafs fans are down on Mitch Marner, as if he's the sole problem, but not even the worst Toronto homer thinks that he should take a $1.65 million -- <strong>million</strong>! -- pay cut.

Yeah no.
The Leafs would 100 percent sign that deal if Marner asked that lol
