Yeah no.
The Leafs would 100 percent sign that deal if Marner asked that lol

Truly abysmal & so many unrealistic assumptions:
Marner agrees to waive his NMC
Marner signs that ridiculous extension
Leafs are the one adding the 1st 🤯
Leafs accept a LHD at a big cap hit with term back, not an area of need and player is declining due to age

Trotz is on the books saying he doesnt like long retirement type contracts
Toronto would definitely do that contract with Marner

I reckon with McD's cap out Nashville could swing Marner's cap but wing isnt their area of need like RHD or Center so this is like getting a Lamborghini while living in a rundown 1 bedroom apartment. Sure you can afford it but maybe there are better things to allocate your funds to first.

You get taxed wayyyy less in Tennessee than you do in Ontario. Have to take that into account.

I know that some Leafs fans are down on Mitch Marner, as if he's the sole problem, but not even the worst Toronto homer thinks that he should take a $1.65 million -- million! -- pay cut.

Leafs have no need for Saros long term. Same with McDonagh. Marner doesn't sign that contract obviously.
Let's stop this Pesce fetish. Eight years is absolutely crazy for soon to be 30 year old Dman

Really ??? Never seems to have bothered players traded to or signed with to the Raptors or Leafs. But it seems to be a big issue for the tax experts on CapFriendly

Hawks decline. They aren't moving Hall any earlier than the TDL. They need him to play w/ Bedard. And the Hawks aren't burning both of their remaining retention slots for a single 1st.

Even without retention Hawks laugh and hang up.

Chicago needs Murphy and Hall as veteran leaders for next season unless other moves are made leading up to the draft and during FA to make them expendable.

To be honest the Hawks can probably get and equal or even better return at the TDL without having to take Jarnkrok’s contract back.
