<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Howisjulienstillhere</b></div><div>If they give Saad that much I’ll stop following this team

I’d like Hoffman

Have a felling we’re gonna get eichel/Hoffman or nothing

Kinda like always</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>IF we lose Chiarot to ED then adding Leddy makes a bit of sense as a stop gap. I want Hall or Saad over no D Hoffman or too much risk Eichel! I would love to add Dvorak IF Danault is done in Montreal. Definitely NO to Dubnyk.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OlegP</b></div><div>I dont think there is a chance that we don't sign Danault after this past playoff performance. They need a Quebecois marquee player and he's too valuable for what he does. Only reason deal isnt done is because of expansion protection lists. He'll get his money now and term</div></div>

1. Hoffman is possible because he tried to get him last offseason AFTER Toffoli signing but the cap wasn’t working
2. Ducharme doesn’t like Kulak for a reason we don’t know, and Bergevin always liked Leddy (ex-CHI player) and he is a puck moving dman who can log minutes (GMs like that even if they are meh)
3. He will overpay Danault we all know that. Everything 5M and more would end up being an overpay over 4 years. He overpaid Price, after Byron, after Gallagher, now it’s Danault’s turn.
4. We need to stop believing Seattle aren’t picking Allen
Maybe if Lehky or Evans would be exposed but they won’t

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Howisjulienstillhere</b></div><div>Not saying they’re never going to win but ovechkin and stamkos won a round in year 2 and 1 respectively. Stamkos and the lightning also went to the Stanley cup finals. Not quite the same thing
As I said above, until Matthews re-ups you have a 3 year window to win. Not saying he’s leaving but they’re probably a reason he only took a 5 year deal</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>but they still kept Ovechkin, Backstrom, Kuznetsov, and Carlson who were even bigger parts of their core

Matthews, Marner, Nylander, and Rielly are still young and will only continue to improve.

Washington shipped out their older guys but still kept the main boyz together and did not give up on them.

Also Toronto already did its share of moves

Brown, Kapenan, Johnsson all were moved for prospects and picks which has set the team up well for the future with guys like Anderson, Amirov, Hallander, and other prospects.</div></div>

Carlson was a rookie in 2011 and he replaced Mike Green. Similar to Sandin and MR right now. Semin left bc Carolina offered him too much money. Basically what happened with Marner but Washington was too smart to dish that type of money out. Kuzy started playing full time in 2015. You could pretty much say he was the main catalyst to the Capitals being spectacular the last few year but he was hardly a core guy when they moved on from Green and Semin. Capitals basically draft well and spent their money well like trading Varly for the #11oa pick. They just made some boneheaded trades. I think leafs should move on from MR and just keep drafting well. Even dumping MoJo and Alzner was huge for them.
