Easy no for both sides.
Why would both teams do this?
It's bizarre.

None of this makes sense for the Jackets. Trading for an $8M center when we don't have the cap space another big, slow, overpaid RD and a 7th round pick is ridiculous. And then to give up the hometown first round pick at our weakest position, a cheap young RD that has really impressed and a second round pick while rebuilding is outrageous.
If there is a deal to be made for Horvat, it starts with Boqvist or Ceulemans in my opinion and definitely does not include meyers.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hughesline</b></div><div>Fair enough. Just noticed Sillinger was seemingly having a down year and thought he may be a piece with the emergence or Johnson</div></div>
He's far too young still to give up on. He's still the 4th youngest player to play in the league this year and the 2nd youngest behind Slafkovsky to play regularly. The only way he really could become expendable for the Jackets is if they end up drafting a top center in 2023, Johnson takes the other top 6 spot and Voronkov earns the 3C spot over Sillinger. Sillinger is well ahead of Johnson in terms of center development though imo so Johnson on the wing and Sillinger playing 2C is probably a more likely scenario if they do draft a solid center this summer.

Genuinely wondering, when did everyone get so high on Iorio? I seen him constantly in mock trades here. He played well in preseason but was just drafted

I think other Devils fans might like him more then I do, but this is similar situation to when we had Will Butcher imo. Great rookie season, but production slipped and defensive play just caught up to their inabilities. If teams need a secondary off. Dman, i would be open to moving Ty there.

If you take out the third I'd do it. The move from 22 to 9 is worth around the 25th pick and I'd definitely take that for Eriksson's contract.

Maybe change the 1st to the Arizona one or the Devils pick (if lucky), but still.

Butcher is a specialist and doesn't play D. I don't know why anyone wants Wood. He has elite speed and the intelligence of a 5 year old. He hasn't improved in 3 years and doesn't play D. Losing Nico would hurt but as a Devils fan I'd immediately impregnate my wife if I heard this deal.

I'd rather bring back Tanev than play Edmundson/Hamonic in the top 4.
I don't like the idea of trading Demko. I think we can get by for next year by just moving out Sutter and Baertschi and then waiving Eriksson.
I'm not sure why re-signing Toffoli has become such a priority. We have young wingers who could step in to his spot in the next 1-2 years (Podkolzin, Hoglander, Lind). I don't think we should tie up cap space in something we can replace with an ELC soon.

I actually don't mind the Ducks trade, but it'd really depend on how much Stecher is going to get on his next contract.
As much as it seems like the Ducks have some cap flexibility with Kesler on LTIR, it's actually not as rosy as it once was now that Backes is there. Add in the fact that Perry's buyout cap hit jumps to something like $5.5-6ish mil next year, all of the sudden it gets tight.
Think I'd rather just skip the middle man and snag Hamonic for 2 x $4 if that's the cost.

Why does everyone love Tanev so much? He is 30 years old and this is the first time in the last 3 seasons that he has played over 55 games. He gave us a great season on his last year on his contract. Hamonic & Edmundson have played 60+ games the majority of their pro careers. Edmundson is 26 and Hamonic is 29.

You've also gotta realize they have to hit the cap floor. Lucic could be an easy to get veteran that eats up $6M. For cap floor teams, those are important

Isles deal doesn't make too much sense for us, although I think Leddy and Ho-Sang would make a lot of sense for VAN and it'd be great to send them there. Ho-Sang especially so he can turn his career around. I'd make a few counters.
Ho-Sang for Granlund straight up.
Leddy for Gaudette and a 2nd.

Canucks - Aggressive AF
Easily the most intriguing thing I've ever seen on this website. I don't hate it.. I don't love it though either. Here are my takes
1: CBJ doesn't do this if their entire offense gets gutted via FA (Duchene, Dzingel, Panarin). I feel they'd rather blow up and get pick/prospect for Wennberg rather than a pricy 3LC
2: I like it, CGY could definitely listen to this
3: VAN shouldn't do this only because in the end, NYI wouldn't do Markstrom for 1st (Griess/Lehner both very similar) which would leave VAN without a 1st rd pick
4: BOS clearly didn't resign Schaller for a reason, his very low stock has plummeted even further with a terrible stint in VAN, and why change a Cup winning team? (Sorry St. Louis).
5: Pretending the FLA trade goes through, I think the talent pool drops too much from picks 10-13 to 19 so not a good deal for VAN
6: I have no opinions on why this would or wouldn't go through so... good move for VAN, gets rid of a bit of fringe.
7: Hard to consider giving up the future Captain.. even for Hall. talented as he is, I'd take Horvat's leadership and style of play over Hall's speed and offense. Also, Severson >>> Hutton and Kole Lind's value is pretty nonexistent right now.
8: Don't know if the 5th and 7th are needed.. Granlund for a 4th is a-ok with me.
9: Way too much for Zucker. Virtanen has potential to be Zucker in few years.. that plus 1st and Leivo is over payment. Could see Leivo, 1st for Zucker, 2nd.
10: As discussed above... Lehner = Markstrom, imho. Both fringe goalies that would thrive under defensive systems with Trotz.
Mad props for going outside the box. Love the thought process and even though I don't think GMJB would take that much action in 5 years let alone an offseason it was still really cool to see the time you put into this. Final team is still thin on D and G but a Boeser, Pettersson, Duchene, Hall, Hughes PP1 would be unreal
