Nashville is not making that OTT trade with Formenton and it's a very underwhelming return.

Preds Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuckLuck_77</b></div><div>Why do I get the feeling Nashville fans are excited to move on from Ekholm? Has he not been good this year? Or is it just the fact that you guys want Poile to finally move into a rebuild?</div></div>
Nashville fans wanted a rebuild after last year and Poile gone. Guys over achieved and should have been traded when the value was good. Saros is the only reason this team is staying competitive, put in an average goalie and this team would be in the tanking competition.
However, Ekholm has been having an excellent year in my eyes. He would be an excellent D partner for one of your young right handed D man.

Probably taking out the 3rd pick would be a realistic offer but still would be a good return for the Preds.

Idk man, that video of him at the end of the game skating around looking at the fans like it was his last time was telling.

are we any better in 2 years than we are today
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>herzausstein</b></div><div>It all depends on how some of our prospects turn out.
Tolvanen is kind of regressing
Kunin looks good
Tomasino is having a good year especially when you consider how little time he’s been given on ice
Jeannot is a beast
Trenin is moving along
Other then them its a lot more guesswork.
Evangelista, afanasyev, L’Heureux, and Svechkov look like they could turn into top 6 players. Del Gaizo, Farrance, Ufko are interesting dmen that could pan out. Saros is still young and should have several years infront of him but Askarov still looks like the future. A lot of questions, I still wonder if signing Forsberg long term is the right answer but I don’t want to trade him unless he will not extend.</div></div>
Have to disagree with Eeli regressing. Agreeing with all the other assessments. Yes, his goals and assist numbers aren't what we expected but every other area of his game is up hits, defense, possession numbers and etc. I think he just isn't getting the puck luck and it's got his confidence down a bit. As long as he keeps firing he will be fine.
In other terms, Preds do a fantastic job at making players be well rounded in their game and you can see that in players that have gone through the system. I think they have done a good job of late drafting players that can be top 6 forwards compared to prior years. Just gotta hope one of these guys turns into gold.
As great as Forsberg has been they should trade him. Will limit the future for spending and team would probably still be that same bubble playoff team without him. Poile usual does the opposite of anything I suggest though, so he's probably a lock to stay.

If Don wasnt Don
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>datdude</b></div><div>thoughts on Van deal was to bring them a bit more sandpaper while cutting some cap, Nashville surprisingly are fielding calls on Filip Forsberg which makes me think they would on Ekholm as well, If they can't pry him away I'd love for them to go after a legitimate 1LD and I think Yakov is one of the more underrated up and coming power forwards that plays a pretty solid 200 foot game.
Seattle is a pipe dream however the stage they are in I would not be shocked if they did move Yanni (depending on if he is willing to waive) I think he is the ideal fit with a fair deal/term, and is what the Bruins are sorely missing</div></div>
Forsberg is a UFA that's why he is being shopped. The team has been on a skid and are a fringe playoff team and not really Cup contenders. They aren't shopping guys who just signed to stay there. Big Yak is young and not going to moved under a "competitive rebuild" especially

It’s an in division trade that ain’t happening. 1. Wouldn’t be trading Fabbo in any deal. Really don’t have any use for Klingberg cause we won’t sign him. Preds are probably moving him for a young players and/or futures.
