Yes but they are moving back to receive a lot of draft capital for the future, not dumping Myers for there 1st this is a bigger deal than dumping Myers. Fans seem to overvalue there own players. I wasn't sure about Pearson figure if they can move his money that would be good for them. THEY NEED CAP SPACE!

Its 5 spots.... Deep draft Pens need more prospects in there system. Never know there draft board they may have a guy they love in the 19-22OA range.

I think both of these trades definitely could happen and idea of using all the cap space to gain short term contracts to meet the cap floor and add draft capital is exactly what the blackhawks will be looking to do. I do believe they bring Max Domi back also.

Would the avs talk to the caps about Kuznetsov? Maybe trade Girard and something else for Kuzy. With Landy going on LTIR they are fit Kuz in and he would be a great 2nd line center.

Wouldnt mind that at all or maybe give them some cap relief also. Very good point. I think we have some options for sure.
Getting Bedard I think puts a little more pressure on the hawks to try and make sure they get that 3rd - 1st round pick.

As a blackhawks fan i would accept that. Can possibly take another quality forward or a RHD at the end of the first round and its about a 14-16 pick difference.

Maybe possible. I am not sure Buffalo would want to do this as there should be a solid RHD prospects there when they pick. Hawks would accept.

Don't mind your moves at all. I would try to change the Van trade with Myers and Boeser and no picks coming back to us. Mon can keep Hoffman. The rest i would roll with, maybe id play hardball with the leafs trying to give them tb or sens pick before the hawks pick in the 2nd.

I get that but it is also still LTIR money, have to be under to start the season tho. LTIR money is tricky. I just see MON wanting to move on from a few guys and let the young guys create there own culture and leadership. Not a lot of teams will be calling for Hoffman @ 4.5 mil.

During Draft day amp after
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rktkt66</b></div><div>Despite the fans' disdain for Olofsson, he's still been a reliable 20-goal scorer each season and it's been speculated by many that he should be worth at least a 2nd round pick to teams eager to add offense and/or PP help. The Sabres aren't trying for a cap dump so your theory that the Hawks taking Olofsson back to warrant the 1st is off - but, like GMTommy suggested, the Sabres might give up a better draft position to Chicago (i.e. giving up Buffalo's 1st for TBL's 1st or pair of CHI's 2nds).</div></div>
Fair enough. I'd assume the hawks would think about it for a pair of seconds if they really like a player in buf's 1st round. Just shooting things around. I imagine the hawks would either like to move up the TB pick at either 19-20th or at least add another 1st for this year even if it was at the end of the 1st.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>COL isn’t spending even $2.5M on a bottom 6 guy that cost a resource. They have gotten to the point they need those guys to be ELC or $1M-ish, they have about $13.5M this off season for 5 bottom 6 forwards, a 6th dman Byram and Newhook and potentially a 2C. Johnson produced 32pts averaging 16.5 minutes, COL’s bottom 6 under Bednar has averaged closer to 10-12.</div></div>
The point of this is the fact he's a gamer and can move up into the top 6 if needed and produce. N i watched Newhook this year, which they expected him to make the jump to second line center this year. That didnt happen. TJ is also a Sakic type of player..... I totally get where you are coming from in a cap prospective with 2.5mil hit but the juice has to be worth the squeeze.

Don't think they take him for a 3rd and if they did, Mitchell doesn't go back to NY. Wilde has less than zero value. Martinez isn't waiving to finish his career in Chicago. Best Toronto gets in a Murray trade is the Rangers '23 2nd or Chicago's '23 3rd. But don't see Hawks doing this trade either.</div></div>
Montreal has to give an extension to Cole Caufield. It is not like they have tons of cap space.

Buffalo guys if your 1st round pick stayed where it was, would you include it in a Murphy trade if the hawks also took back Olofsson? Maybe the hawks add a pick. Just a thought. Seems like they would like to move on from him.

Funny is I listen to a lot of hockey podcast, including Montreal guys and all of them suggest trading Hoffman and buying out Armia. A lot of this is to create spots for there up and coming young players while opening up a little cap space. Take it as you please. The hawks would take Bailey for the right deal, Mitchell inclusion is to provide him with a fresh new start, they have already done this with Beaudin and Barratt and got nothing back. Wilde is a RD which we dont have a good depth in Rockford so its a spot he can fill and possibly figure something out. Vegas needs to move money and i am not sure who they could move but Martinez will most likely be the guy.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rktkt66</b></div><div>From a Buffalo POV, that deal is an emphatic 'yes' and I imagine the Sabres would even add a medium prospect or depth player - but the questions are: 1) do the Hawks want to trade Murphy rather than keep him as mentor for their youth?; and, to a lesser degree, 2) does Murphy have Buffalo on his M-NTC list? If so, if the Hawks came to him with the intent to move him, I'd assume that his history with Granato would favor Murphy agreeing to a Buffalo trade.</div></div>
Yeah i think Murph would waive to Buf. A up and coming young team in the US. He has a 10 team no trade list and he is from Ohio. Yeah a 2nd and prospect I think may get it done. I know buffalo could use a Murphy.
