Detroit Red Wings signed Emmitt Finnie (3 Years / $845,000 AAV)
Its never a bad deal to get someone on an ELC. Sure they may have given him a little much but maybe Steve-Y sees something in him that he really likes

Definitely not ideal but I could see him wanting to get a bit of term. Trying to be a bit realistic with the signings.

Pavelski and Kane are not reasonable camparisons for any deals, both took heavily discounted deals to sign on to chance the cup and both are older and have higher risk of regression or injury, plus both have bonuses set up that will pay them close to double their base salary FYI

His lack of defense is the reason that both Seattle and Detroit have kept him in the bottom 6. After 2 seasons of this and his defensive play hasn't improved his defense or shown more hustle it makes men think he is ok with it. take a look at this clip: <a href="https://youtu.be/NHE0VW8kQqo?si=RnO-2o8PQLjJJNJU" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Sprong</a>

I don't know why Reimer didn't get the start after his performance on Saturday. Trying to find something positive out of the last 10 games Raymond has really stepped up!

Didn't mean to quote you on that first one.
I know collecting mediocre centres isn't a good idea. Just messing around with them idea of spending more at free agency in that regard. Ideally I wouldn't do that signing but the status quo is kind of boring.

Might as well keep Fabbri the $1M in savings is hardly worth it and just resign Fischer. Rather see Kasper or Danielson on the team instead of Lindholm. Then you have money to sign Roy and then you don't have to sign Meyers.

Apparently we're not looking for picks for Jake. The top destinations for Jake don't have many top prospects and I think if a 1st isn't involved one of your best prospects has to be coming back. Lundell for example for Florida, Lekkerimaki for Vancouver, Morrow for Carolina, Ritchie for Colorado, Brisson for Vegas, etc.

Compher has done well as the #2C and I think he will be fine until Kasper or Danielson are ready. I'd rather see them go after Trenin and bring Roy home over signing Desharnais and Bogosian. Seider, Roy and then Holl or Petry would be better than what we have now.

Deadlineoffseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jfstompers</b></div><div>Taking smith to move Copp isn't bad trade. We're going to lose perron Kane Sprong in the off-season and smith mitigates that lose at a reasonable price plus it gets Copp off the books. I'd rather just buy out petry in the off-season than pay to move Holl.</div></div>
Copp is alot more useful than Smith to us. I could see maybe a deal where we acquire Smith for cheap at 50% to play next year if we can't re-sign Kane. Rather give some young guys a shot like Berggren. That third line is a bit underrated in my opinion. Losing Copp would hurt in multiple ways. We will need him to help insulate Danielson and Kasper. Not opposed to a Petry buyout next season if we can sign Matt Roy. It only saves about 750K though next season so meh. Can just play him fringe as the third pairing guy with Holl. Holl and Petry swap out.

Wings Contract Extensions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jfstompers</b></div><div>I doubt that they just run it all back.</div></div>
I agree, I'm just saying I think this is what Detroit should be resigning them for and if it's more you are probably looking to trade that player. Sprong might get more than $2.5M but he only plays 12 min a night and scores but hes not being used as a top 6 winger, idk Kane, Perron, amd Ghost have all had relatively big years and could get more on the open market than I would want them to resign for.

I've got an idea what if you make an ACGM that is actually plausible for all teams involved. We've seen that you are quite adept at making ACGMs that get everyone riled up and angry. What do you say just one ACGM that everyone involved is ok with or close to ok with. You know what I'd be happy with one that didn't piss anyone off.

Playoff Adds
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jfstompers</b></div><div>The one upgrade I really want is over Fischer on that third line. Someone that plays a heavy game like he does but that has more finish to his game. That 3rd line could be a game changer.</div></div>
I agree. Another player I would like to add is Trenin. He could be a decent fit there. Or could Veleno play that position and Trenin (or similar player) could play 4th line. Also just adding Sturm could free up Veleno to pay that spot since we don't really have any other centre to replace him. He could be moved there and Fischer down to the 4th line.
