moving rielly to W
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Byrr</b></div><div>Rielly isn't a winger. The thing you need to do to play top 6 minutes on the wing is shoot the puck. We criticize some top 6 wingers for not being able to do so but really thats in comparison to other top 6ers. A shot is what really seperates a bottom 6 winger from a top 6. With Rielly's shot, he's much closer to a Kerfoot (who also shouldn't be top 6 here) than he is a Nylander, Marner or Bunting.</div></div>
you're right about the shot but i also think that there are other factors that can tip the scale as well in regards to the difference between top and bottom six usage. rielly is a top six level playmaker in the NHL, thats what gets him up on the second line. certainly not the defense or shot. also important to remember guys like Nic Dowd, Phil Danault, Mikael Backlund & even Hyman who are all top six mainstays and have been for a while but absolutely cannot sling it.

edm could work here too, with kane out they need forwards. their left side is stronger so i would maybe do savard instead but i think a deal that looks pretty much the same could get done. maybe savard and gally for mcdavid

i have a sweet spot for drou and his contract is also up this summer, less pressing that we banish him immediately. 4.5 for a 3c is just sucky especially with term like dvo has. i dont have a problem with his game or production but the contract doesnt work for me

ngl it wasnt even bc of his actions i saw a video of him "skating" against the steelheads earlier and it made me so sick that i bought him out on ACGM.

muzzin has been hurt for the better part of a year now. a wise man would wait and see 15 sample games before they say hes still useful. over the hill and with a large history of injury, already declining in play when hes actually in the roster for a change, all factors that point to him maybe costing a lot more than a third to dump at 0% retention

the blackhawks in general are on a huge sh% binge and will not be good all year. the whole team is playing out of their league and are bound to regress to the mean.

i could see MTL biting if it were hoffman and savard for a young fwd (scarce in pitt). trading two old guys for three old guys doesnt make so much sense especially when we are already log-jammed at forward and defence.

By pick value that puts the trade only slightly in OTTS favour. Mid to late 1st arent valuable at all</div></div>
mid to late first round picks are as valuable as they draft they exist in, and this is one of the deepest first rounds the nhl has ever seen (as of right now)

a mid second and a high second for Jordan Spence and a first round pick is a pretty miserable trade for the kings
