No thanks, we already have many players that can get the same amount of numbers as Mittelstadt, like Gambrell, Gregor, True, etc.

Don't know if it was ever clarified, but it happened during the fight and it looked like his hand hit Gudbranson's helmet a good deal and then he was favouring it. Makes the most sense.

Broke his hand to some degree in a fight with Gudbranson a while back. But he is skating with the team again as of today (not sure if contact or not), so he must be not too far off.

TDL Horror Show
Gambrel doesn't get you a 2nd and I think leafs want a 3C not a 4C. Florida can't trade Driedger right now maybe in the offseason.
Colorado can't move Byrum right now when they traded Cole to the Wild they committed to the current situation. I think the Sharks could get a Newhook in a Hertl trade though.

TDL Horror Show
I think a lot of NHL GMs would trade Byram for Hertl, no question. If your window is open NOW, you trade futures for a better shot, no question. But there are some GMs who operate on a longer horizon. Keeping Byram gives Colorado a wider, if shallower, window.
You can find success either way, but the only teams since the lockout who've won with the latter approach are the Red Wings and maybe the Bruins.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>And if you watched them you would have known they were playing their 3rd string goalie against Dallas and lost in OT, and against the sharks if it wasn’t for a ticky tack offside call against landeskog they are on their way to then next round
But hey you’re more of an expert about a team you don’t cheer for</div></div>
If the refs make the right call on Zadorov in game 6, there isn't a game 7 to worry about. Anyone can play that game.

At this rate, I doubt FLA would want to part ways with Driedger but if the plan is to let him go in a trade I suppose acquiring his signing rights in the offseason isn't a bad idea. I do want to see how he holds up over the course of the season though. He's looking good so far but it's still a relatively small sample size.

DAL Getting Something for Dobby b4 Expansion
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JumboFett</b></div><div>Stars do have Bow and Point, but if they also have Dobby while being forced to protect Bishop due to his NMC then SEA will be free to choose Dobby. Flipping Dobby for picks/prospects before SEA takes him for free would be the best case scenario. DAL's other option would be to bribe SEA to avoid Dobby, but that costs them something.
I love the idea of having Dobby in SJ for many reasons; he's a long-time friend of our vet and goalie coach, Nabby, we have a young, Russian goaltender who could use a mentor like Dobby, and he's just an awesome guy who our fanbase would shower with praise.</div></div>
Oh I don’t disagree with the trade as a whole. I’ve got no issues sending Dobby to SJ. I just don’t see a the need for Dubnyk to be in this deal. Any package of picks/prospects would be fine & allows San Jose to get a return for Dubynk elsewhere.
I’m 100% on board to shop Khudobin at the TDL

I hate Jones so much because he's not consistently bad enough for me to feel like a buyout is worth it (considering the cost) but he's also not good enough to justify paying that much for. So I might consider buying him out after this season if he continues to suck, but if he plays more like he did in that Avs game consistently, keep him around for a little later at least until the buyout isn't as bad.
As for both of the guys you have here, I like them but Driedger would be one I lean towards more considering we wouldn't have to pay anything for him. Allen at that cap hit is great too though.

Also, last year, kreuger wanted skinner to drive play on his own line. Unfortunately the ex-gm gave the coach marcus johansson as the #2 center (he was steaming hot garbage and hadnt played center in years), and some combination of connor sheary, jimmy vesey, vladimir sobotka, and evan rodrigues as wingers. So skinner had very very little to play with. Now kreuger has decided that skinner is going to be a more well rounded player or he will sit. Im not as upset as most fans are, its the coaches prerogative to make his players play his gameplan. Hes not hurting his trade value, hes probably 2 million over market even if he puts up 30g and 20a, which means hes going to be here for awhile. Of course we need goals, skinner should be back in the lineup soon, not sure how far kreuger is willing to take this. Skinner has had this rep his whole career- no defense, probably good for 30g/20a in a good year, not sure at 28 with 60 million guatanteed that hes going to change that now.

3rd for Gambrell straight up maybe, he's not enough to warrant a 1st. Maaayyybeee, just maybe, they'd do it if it was this year's second as they don't have their own and you're just moving down a bit in the same draft, but I don't see a legit reason to there.
P.S. He was DU Pioneer but isn't a COL native.

I think the point of dumping Johnson would be to get rid of the full 5M.
From a Sharks perspective this isn't awful, but I doubt Tampa accepts. I think they would rather get rid of the full 5M with high picks than retain.

I think Slater Koekkoek's the play. I'm not sure what he'll take for salary, but he's stronger on his off-side and he's happy on the 3rd pair.</div></div>
Honestly I’m fine with any one of Koekkoek, Rutta or Heed. All three are pretty decent. I’d personally prefer to have a right shot on that side, but it’s not a complete game changer. Plus Koekkoek has been more healthy over his career than Rutta.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JumboFett</b></div><div>100%! With Stutzle and Norris coming up (as well as their $925k price tags) I have a strong feeling OTT's just buying time to trade out Cobra. Why else would they have taken this long to re-sign him?</div></div>
I think they probably don't want to give Tierney the full amount of money he wants (cause the Sens org is cheap af) so they're waiting for his arbitration hearing which is on November 8th. So if they are intent on keeping him, that's probably why it's taken this long. It's possible they don't want to keep him as well though. You never know.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JumboFett</b></div><div>I'm not certain what his trade value would be, but if they can unload him for a reasonable return I think they will.</div></div>
Me neither, but if it's similar to what you've posted, I'm all in. This would only further Doug's plan to get the 2015-16 gang back together. The sens have a lot of solid guys in the pipelines and could quite possibly be wanting to get rid of him to make space for Stuetzle/Norris/Brown/Chlapik.

I was mulling over true 3C options (not Handemark or Kellman like Kurz is suggesting, but a real 3C). I was thinking of Kahun, or even Sutter, but the best possible option would be bringing back Cobra!
It would fit with the locker room reunion that seems to be going on, and he could play all over the lineup if needed. Too bad he's behind a f**kin OTT paywall!!</div></div>
I'm definitely interested in the prospect of getting a legit center for sure. But with that being said, I don't know if OTT does this or not. If the biggest pick we have to give up is a 3rd+B/C grade prospects, I'd be down, but still a bit hesitant depending on what Tierney's arbitration $$ ends up being. But I think there would be better offers out there from other teams as well. I also have a soft spot for Cobra though so keep that in mind haha.
But hey you know what maybe Melnyk/Dorion decide to be cheap mother****ers again and decide to trade him for cheap. I dunno. Anything is possible.

Sutter is actually kind of interesting to think about since he's on a one year deal, Vancouver probably would want little to nothing for him, and half retained, he'd be somewhat affordable.
Could be an okay 3C for a year.
