Swap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rags21</b></div><div>Kings gotta add</div></div>
Why? They're nearly identical in points per game over the course of their careers, and I'd argue Arty has done more with his ice time than Kakko has (mostly 4th line minutes for Arty).
We're well past draft slot now.
As a matter of fact, this couldn't even be 1-for-1 because Kakko is already getting paid his next contract that he's not performing to while Arty is still on his ELC.

Turcotte and Knight 2026
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KINGS67</b></div><div>I just don’t know if swapping prospects is the right trade. I could be wrong. Turcotte looked pretty good today.
I’d be for trading someone like grundstrom to try and get a bit better but I doubt he gets a prospect like Clarke. Maybe add lizotte to him. I’ve said before I wouldn’t mind possibly Kaliyev to get a prospect like Stillman or now maybe Clarke</div></div>
I like Turcotte because he can play both sides of puck, can skate, play fast. There have been a handful of guys that have come here and instantly looked slow. He is also close with Hughes brothers and would probably fit right in.
Grundstrom maybe as we have had Nolan Foote and Thomas Nosek (two guys battling for 4LW) both hurt all year. We have even used a dman in that spot a few times. Kaliyev should be nice trade asset, but I don’t think he fills a need…others will pay more.

I doubt La makes a trade with Edmonton, I’d say LA is currently edmontons most intense rivalry right now.
Also think it would cost more to get Kaliyev

How did the Kings give up on him? He's been injured most of the time since he's turned pro. When he has been healthy, he's been very good.
When asked during training camp what Turcotte needed to do to make the NHL, Blake said very curtly, "Stay healthy."

Chychrun may be available but they would need a RHD worked in there (Spence or Roy [with an extension]) the picks would need to be balanced out also.
I would be fine to trade Chychrun to the West Coast as I don't want to see him in the Atlantic lol.

Honestly there's likely a deal that can be struck involving both. Add to Kaliyev but still definitely in the realm of possibility.

Swapping Kaliyev for Monahan looks like a logical swap. A contender trading a young player for a more established UFA veteran.
Kaliyev for Robertson seems to a logical/similar swap, though I believe Robertson has upside.

Three team trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>The open question is PLD viewed in the same light as he was when he signed the contract,. My guess is no, but I agree they’d have to add if they went this direction.
Jonathan Huberdeau was once the primary return for Tkachuck. I wouldn’t take him for free at this point, PLD is not near that point, but I’d argue his value in a trade has taken a significant hit.</div></div>
First year with new team…probably not an 80-pt center, but I think his stick goes up from here. Maybe good time to buy if made available.
But in general…a young 60-pt center will usually have a lot more value than a rental goalie…even if they are a bit overpaid. I think Bruins would have to part with another worthwhile piece. And maybe ask LAK to eat $1m off AAV if that piece hurts (like Phil Kessel outta Toronto deal).

I’d think ullmark would waive</div></div>
In an Ullmark for PLD scenario, I’d think Bruins would have to add a considerable amount. Young top-6 centers generally carry a lot more trade value than goalies.
PLD for Ullmark, Lysell, Kuntar
PLD for Ullmark, Geekie, pick
PLD for Ullmark, Lohrei, Farinacci
Don’t know what LAK wants but these seem in range

Chychrun and Tarasenko to LAK
Kings not really interested in Tarasenko. They need right-handed forwards.
Matt Roy is only available if the Kings are out of a playoff spot at the deadline. Playoff teams don't trade away their best defensemen, pending UFAs or not.
There's nothing wrong with the value in this trade, but I don't think the Kings would do it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>I think that’s fair.
Tarasenko is valued at a late 1st 50% retained. And Chychrun is valued at a 1st and a good player/prospect</div></div>
I disagree completely. I'll be surprised if anyone gives OTT a 1st at this point for Tarasenko. After his mediocre stint after last year's deadline deal with the Rangers and not really lighting the lamp this year? I'll be surprised if he goes for more than a 2nd.
Chychrun? Yes, I think a 1st + prospect is fair, but that's not what's happening here when you're adding in Roy, Lizotte and Kaliyev.
Roy + 2nd for Chychrun would be fair, or Kaliyev + 1st for Chychrun would be fair.
This proposed deal is a massive overpayment for LA. Massive.

Didn't say Kaliyev is worth a 1st, so I'm not sure where you're getting that from.
I don't care if Roy doesn't have term. He still has major value. This deal is treating him like a throw-in.

He is very much as bad as he'is because that is just what he is as a player. People have had massive unrealistic expectations for him and he's been over rated massivly because of it. He's just a pretty good 3C, that's his ceiling.
William Nylander is a very good 1st line winger and easily worth double the cap hit PLD is, and always has been</div></div>
Nylander is too inconsistent to be making Matthews and McDavid money. Plus on this team he's the 2nd line RW.
What stanley cup team in the cap era paid their second line winger 11 and a half million? There isn't one.
Nylander is a 9.5 million winger, 1st line calibre. That is true. But on the Leafs he's 2 million overpaid and being played on the second line.
Leafs management are led by braindead morons.

Trolling Los Angeles fans, I see.
Two first-line forwards and on-ice-time leader Drew Doughty with $16 million in retention costs Auston Matthews, not one season of Mitch Marner and cheese.
What makes some deluded Maple Leaf fans think that prospects Abruzzese and Niemela and UFA Brodie have meaningful trade value, especially to Los Angeles?
