Just to put into perspective how well Byfield has played this season, he has more goals than Stutzle and is tied with Kopitar. The guy has arrived and won't be moved.

LA depth pieces
Los Angeles wouldn't have interest in any of those Maple Leafs. Turcotte, Pinelli and Helenius are all better prospects than any of them.
The Kings wouldn't be trading Anderson-Dolan or Fa-gem-o for either of those UFAs, let alone adding a second and a third.
Why would Colorado pay anything for a backup goalie whose contract will expire before he's medically able to play again?!?

Avalanche and Kings decline, and you have no business trading Pulock now that he's signed to that contract.

Byram Mitts Clarke Trade Discussion
Roy and Clarke aren't competing for roster spots. Clarke and Spence are competing for a roster spot next season. It's very likely that Spence will be the defenseman moved, not Clarke.
Spence and Clarke are both very good offensive-minded defenseman, but neither are defensive stalwarts. Having two of them on the right side will take offensive minutes away from Doughty (since he'll be the only RHD available to take tough defensive minutes and play on the PK) and leave the right side defensively weakened for over half the game.
Unless Clarke has a setback this season (unlikely), Spence will be traded and the RHD for the Kings next season will be Doughty, Clarke, and Roy.

Los Angeles will not trade local boy and fan favorite Trevor Moore.
The Kings have absolutely no interest in Bertuzzi, Hirvonen or Timmins, but if Matt Roy refuses to re-sign, I can see Los Angeles accepting Easton Cowan for him.

Also kings aren’t going to rebuild. So no need for slaggert as I have already explain why they don’t need him.
Kaliyev has way more value than a reclamation project with low upside lol. He’s being used wrong in LA. If he were used right the kid can absolutely meet 20-30G range.</div></div>
Englund is an LD, Blackwell is a forward. Unrelated.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KINGS67</b></div><div>Spence would be the guy most likely not Clarke.

Kaliyev should be apart of the deal.
Spence/Roy, Kaliyev and a pick or 2 depending on if a 1st is involved is my guess.</div></div>
I'm gonna go ahead and say Roy is a nice piece and certainly one the Preds would like, but not one they would want on this deal. He doesn't fit the timeline of their "rebuild/retool". I could see Spence being a part of the deal, but I don't know how Trotz views his upside. I'm sure they're also interested in someone like Turcotte who's around the same age and has a fair amount of upside.
The fact that some of these guys will also need new contracts is probably an issue too. I don't think Trotz would want to trade for a guy who hasn't played a game for us and then have to worry about getting them extended the same season

What Id do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>This is surprising from you. Dubois was a bad trade and signing and definitely is going to cost you. Paying 8 million for a 3rd line (that's how he often plays) is really bad. Getting a guy who without a doubt becomes your best player for him and the rest is a big win.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>Marner is the best player ever to play with absolutely no value. It's incredible. Guy could win the hard and art Ross and still have no value.</div></div>
It's a little premature to say that DuBois was a bad trade and a bad signing. If I remember correctly, Jeff Skinner looked like one of the worst signings of all time when he recorded only 37 points in 112 games his first two seasons there. Patience is a virtue.
Nobody thinks that Mitch Marner has no value, especially Kings fans. Our antipathy to having anything to do with him is the cost of his acquisition and his salary structure. Giving up our anticipated future #1RhD, a first and two seconds (never mind abandoning the DuBois attempt) for one year of Marner would be moronic asset management even if he were to win the Conn Smythe in his one season with us. Los Angeles fans have dynastic ambitions, not transitory ones.
Selling DuBois at a low point would be just as stupid and criminal as Anaheim selling Trevor Zegras at his low point.

The Kings aren't trading Matt Roy to their bitterest division rivals on any rational basis, never mind this one, for which we would not give you more than Jacob Moverare and Alberta boy Jaret Anderson-Dolan.

PLD has not played with very good wingers for most of the season.
Last couple of games he’s made some nice saucer passes to JAD and JAD can’t buy a goal. Any other good winger would have put the puck in the damn net.
JAD at best is a fringe NHLer. Put fiala back with him where he actually had success with.</div></div>

Kings are definitely in a bad place, but if you think this is because of PLD you are not informed correctly.
All the top-9 have struggled as of late and a shake up is needed, which is why they moved out the coach. To admit and take a loss on PLD would be a deathstroke to Blake's tenure as GM. The team is stuck with PLD, which isn't great, but it isn't exactly the worst contract in the league. The guy is 25 and playing with pretty meh wingers, let's see if a coaching change and Arvidsson can get things going. Either way I think there are plenty of places to dump on PLD if that is the purpose of this thread.

Sounds like you're trying to sell me something. Seemingly every Rangers fan on here wants Kakko off that team.
You're welcome to disagree, but I wouldn't add a single piece to a swap, and I'd argue the Rangers would need to retain to make it even possible.

Why? They're nearly identical in points per game over the course of their careers, and I'd argue Arty has done more with his ice time than Kakko has (mostly 4th line minutes for Arty).
We're well past draft slot now.
As a matter of fact, this couldn't even be 1-for-1 because Kakko is already getting paid his next contract that he's not performing to while Arty is still on his ELC.

I’d be for trading someone like grundstrom to try and get a bit better but I doubt he gets a prospect like Clarke. Maybe add lizotte to him. I’ve said before I wouldn’t mind possibly Kaliyev to get a prospect like Stillman or now maybe Clarke</div></div>
I like Turcotte because he can play both sides of puck, can skate, play fast. There have been a handful of guys that have come here and instantly looked slow. He is also close with Hughes brothers and would probably fit right in.
Grundstrom maybe as we have had Nolan Foote and Thomas Nosek (two guys battling for 4LW) both hurt all year. We have even used a dman in that spot a few times. Kaliyev should be nice trade asset, but I don’t think he fills a need…others will pay more.
