Turcotte is worth more to the Kings than his value on the trade market. For that reason, he's not currently available for trade. The Kings currently have him on the first line with Byfield and Kopitar.

Well the asking price is a first plus a good prospect and maybe a 3rd asset, so start with that i’d say.

The Kings absolutely should go the Vegas route with LTIR shenanigans, but I don't see Calgary taking that return for Hanifin.

No, the Kings are not trading Adrian Kempe for anything that doesn't involve your 2024 first or both Frank Nazar and Sam Rinzel. I've had this discussion with your esteemed colleagues <a href="/users/Garak" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Garak</a> and <a href="/users/hawksguy81" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@hawksguy81</a> and we're all on the same page -- what it would take, you shouldn't give.

Hard to commit to that when you don't know if he'll be a solid 1c, or an average 2c in his prime. Major difference in value there.</div></div>
Byfield is not a risk at all he will by far be the best player in that bunch

Trade Roy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KINGS67</b></div><div>He’s an RFA there isn’t much negotiation going on. He wants to play on NHL roster and apparently wings don’t have room for him.
My thought is to hopefully get him on LA ship out Kaliyev and or grundstrom make room for the kid.
No I don’t think this actually happens but it’s a thought.</div></div>
Just because a player is an RFA it doesn't mean they don't negotiate. There are a coupe of players that holdout every season.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WingsMJN2965</b></div><div>Nah, I absolutely buy that he's pissed. He fit in fine in the NHL last year but gets demoted to the AHL this year. He's almost 24 and stuck in the minors when he's clearly an NHL player. But, I don't think that means it can't be remedied by making room for him.</div></div>
The Berggren trade rumor was started by Pagnotta from the 4th period. Detroit called up Berggren in case Kane couldn't go but Kane was able to go and Berggren was sent back down and since his return to Grand Rapids he has 13 goals and 14 assists. in 22 games. Yzerman's plan for the last couple of seasons was to keep the majority of Detroit's young core to develop and find success as a unit and that's why he has chosen to fill the roster with UFAs the past couple seasons.
This makes sense to me but I could be wrong, because all we know for sure is Yzerman's plan for developing our prospects. Either way it gives a perfectly logical explication for the situation that doesn't involve people being mad at each other. Now we just have to wait and see!

Trade Roy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AirmanSD</b></div><div>I think your asks are a little steep here. I have to think that it would cost around the same as Hronek did last year a 1st and a 2nd. And he had an extra year of control with it ending in RFA instead of UFA.</div></div>
Hronek has been really good this year, but he did not have the same value he would NOW at last year's deadline. He was on a bad team and okay. Not great. I think Roy is in a tier above that based off of known play. You do make a good point about RFA/UFA status, though. If there's a trade, I'd have to imagine it's to a team that has a significant chance of re-signing.

Trade Roy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KINGS67</b></div><div>Exactly why I think they should trade Roy. This season could be lost with the injury bug hitting late, especially if LA loses Kempe.
Yeah it’s not looking good right now. I don’t know which will garner more. TDL trade or offseason. If Roy can be traded at the draft or near it I hope they can get at least a 1st and prospect if he isn’t traded by TDL.</div></div>
Typically a team who is on the bubble (which LA is) there is a discussion, but LA is so far ahead of other bubble teams it's unlikely Blake throws in the towel, especially since his job is on the line. I think he's going to overpay for a goalie. I don't like it, but I think it's where we are headed after last night.

No interest in exchanging 5 more seasons of Kevin Fiala for one more season of Jakob Chychrun even if the injury to Adrian Kempe turns out to be completely momentary.

Personally, I like Grundstrom and Kaliyev, but I’m not so sure the Sabres are looking for any more young wingers. Of the two Grundstrom may be the better fit because he’s a bigger guy and they need to add some size. Matt Roy would be my top target in free agency if he actually gets there.

MTL has pieces the Kings would be willing to ship out Byfield for but MTL wouldn't being willing to pay the price it would take to get Byfield away from the Kings.
An example would be: MTL 2024 1st plus Suzuki.
Like I said from the Kings side they would probably do that, however never in a million years would MTL do that.

Yzerman is heavily pursuing LHD/RHD. So if Blake were to move him. I'd definitely see Yzerman being involved.

No thanks from LA. Guentzel doesn't really fit a need for the Kings and they can't afford to extend him. Definitely not worth giving up a 1st round pick for a guy that will be playing somewhere else next season.

Substitute Beck or Barron for Dvorak and Anaheim would be interested.
It will be interesting to see whether Zegras' stock rises or stays the same by the end of the season.
Turcotte is starting to demonstrate why he was the fifth overall selection in his draft. Los Angeles won't be trading him.

LA depth pieces
Los Angeles wouldn't have interest in any of those Maple Leafs. Turcotte, Pinelli and Helenius are all better prospects than any of them.
The Kings wouldn't be trading Anderson-Dolan or Fa-gem-o for either of those UFAs, let alone adding a second and a third.
Why would Colorado pay anything for a backup goalie whose contract will expire before he's medically able to play again?!?

Byram Mitts Clarke Trade Discussion
Roy and Clarke aren't competing for roster spots. Clarke and Spence are competing for a roster spot next season. It's very likely that Spence will be the defenseman moved, not Clarke.
Spence and Clarke are both very good offensive-minded defenseman, but neither are defensive stalwarts. Having two of them on the right side will take offensive minutes away from Doughty (since he'll be the only RHD available to take tough defensive minutes and play on the PK) and leave the right side defensively weakened for over half the game.
Unless Clarke has a setback this season (unlikely), Spence will be traded and the RHD for the Kings next season will be Doughty, Clarke, and Roy.
