It’s the old, put Dillon at the top to distract from the fact they slipped Dubois in there for a dog sh*t return

Sean Durzi for Jack Rathbone and your 2023 second has some appeal -- a soon-to-be-established top-4 RhD for two futures.</div></div>
I think the Canucks do that. Or at the very least SHOULD do that. Need a long term partner for Hughes

Most likely though it is a TDL trade. With the Dobson, Romanov and Bellows contracts the Isles most likely only have about $1.5M in cap space max. Moving cap right now is too expensive, apparently Lou would not attach a 1st to Bailey to move him and sign Kadri. With their cap space accruing during the season there would be more space at the TDL for the Isles to make a move like this.</div></div>
Problem is come deadline you have more teams who are more desperate and willing to give up more to make the push.

Need help NSH fans
I'd say a 2nd at most. He has not produced to the hype that was built up for him. Stuck behind Forsberg and now Jeannot on the left side and Granlund and Nino on the Right. Teams wont pay big money for him. He <strong>Might</strong> get a 2nd but it would be for him and possibly a 4th going the other way. His value is relatively low considering Edmonton cant get a deal for Puljijarvi in this market. That said he's on a decent contract so really who knows. Just a Winnipeg fans perspective, so im probably biased against Nash, but just the way i see it.

Winnipeg has been trying to shed Dillon so that they can get Heinola and Samberg in the fold full time. Yeah it costs the price of Dillon but Monahan for 1 year as 3C could provide Winnipeg with 3 scoring lines and let Lowry flourish on the 4th line and they can comfortably roll 4.

The Jets will bend the Knights over in a deal if they want Hellebuyck. Dont need to trade him and if he's wanted that bad the overpay would/should be ridiculous. Probably starts with Theodore, and multiple 1sts

This trade sticks the Jets with $6.3 mil of dead cap next year and they have no one to replace Wheeler's production next year or the year after and wouldn't be able to afford to find a replacement.</div></div>
How does this stick the Jets with 6.3M dead cap next year? Zucker is UFA after this year. Jets save $2.75M this year and clear $8.25M next

Florida needs the retention more. Jets even though getting a good deal can’t be taking on 6.5M + retaining another 1.5M. Take out the picks and jets maybe do it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>VladislavTretiak</b></div><div>That's exactly my point. Montreal is not a contender and will not be for at least 2 years. Furthermore, Suzuki, Caufield, Guhle and Barron are untouchables. If a trade has to happen today, I would not overpay. Winnipeg would then be better off trading him at the TDL. If he really wants to play for Montreal, he will become UFA in 2024.</div></div>
Exactly, Some other MTL fans seem to think he needs to be traded right away for Penny’s on the dollar when in reality Winnipeg still has a decent amount leverage for now anyway.

I don't want to overpay for a guy who might whine because the pressure in Montreal is too much for him to handle.</div></div>
Then why pay for him at all? Winnipeg is only gonna trade him to MTL if they get exactly what they want (most likely one of Suzuki, Dach, guhle, Barron). He’ll most likely be traded at the deadline this year to a contender who wants to get 2 playoff runs out of him. Winnipeg would get a better return then anyway when teams in the hunt are more desperate, than now when teams are in tough trying to get cap compliant.

Dubois is not eligible for NMC or NTC until he’s UFA eligible in 2 years time. Jets can trade him whenever before his ufa years.

Does this get PLD done
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Not really. You may want to convince yourself that the offers won't get better, but nothing nothing supports that assumption. If Dubois has a big year and someone sees him as the last piece they need, his price goes up.
Dubois' minimum price at the TDL in 2 years is a 1st and good prospect, so the offer would need to be at least that, plus more for the extra two years.
If the offers are bad, they just keep him and play him. 2 years of PLD and his rental return is better than accepting a poor return.
Chevy is patient and always has done well when he needed to trade a player. I don't see him changing his MO now. He knows he has two years, that's his leverage.</div></div>
Exactly, did the same thing in the Trouba situation, waited and when he had to make the deal he got back Pionk and 1st which turned in to Heinola. Jets have no pressure right now. So unless the offer is worth it, they have no reason to move him.

Does NOT get you Dubois or anywhere close. Habs fans need to give up the dream and wait till he potentially hits Free Agency in 2 years or come up with better offers. Dvorak doesnt move the needle and a florida 1st is at best 20's. So what's the incentive to move him to Montreal when other teams will give them much better prospects and roster players than that.

That could be completely true. Just think Panthers are in the "Win, here and now" and taking futures wouldn't be their focus. That said Weegar is a win now piece too. But honestly who knows at this point lol

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Subbanator7667</b></div><div>I don't think that Weegar trade is close to what Florida would be looking for. They would want futures and ELC contracts so they can resign Hubby</div></div>
Heinola is an ELC, and Wheeler is much better than Hornqvist and it would only be 950k increase in cap hit by doing so with the $2M retention by swapping those players. Maybe the Jets add a pick if Weegar has an extension in place with Winnipeg. But i really dont think this is that far off. Florida actually gains $2.1M in cap space in this deal.
