sweeney spending
1. Coyle is overpaid for his production, so I doubt you get value.
2. Philadelphia is nowhere near contending. Why would they want Ullmark. If they did try to acquire him, my assumption is they’d try to get of Courturier’s contract. The comp package is probably close
3. No to Hanifan. We don’t need to allocate more money to D and he’s likely to be overpaid

They need to shed cap, this puts them over…with a 20 man roster. Plus it’s a 💩 trade for them.
Oh..and stop listening to Jimmy Murphy’s make believe.

I dont want Poitras play 1C because it's setting him up for failure. I don't want Greer even on the NHL roster, let alone starting.
This team is also over the cap

Now if they extended him and flipped him in a package for Elias and Noah in Calgary. Or Elias in Van. Ok. Otherwise…i want no part of him.

Bruins have no need for one year of Lindholm and Tanev if it costs them four years of Carlo alone never mind the 1st and Lysell.

Boston isn’t trading Debrusk for a defenseman. Hanifin might be the exception to that.

Images removed for simply for space.
You're just providing stats to what I'm saying. 82% Dzone starts is going to lead to poor metrics. A/60 and G/60...hard to score when you always have to start in your own end. None of that gets reflected in your stats. I could play devils advocate and say "Did you catch where Kampf also have to play the shutdown role with lesser teammates than Suter was provided?", BUT truth is... that stat doesn't really matter either. They played the shutdown role. The whole line did. That was their focus/goal.</div></div>
I am showing value also. David Kampf a 2x1.5 was excellent value. Pius Suter at 2x1.6 is excellent value.
<strong>David Kampf at 4x2.5 (with a NTC lol) is terrible value. He is not a 3C (now paid like one) and too expensive for a 4C. </strong>

<em>he's a Boston area kid and he played college hockey in Boston and they are probably the team he'd like to sign long term with the most</em>
If Boston feels the same way you do then why wouldn't they just wait till FA? If Hanfin really wants to play for Boston most wouldn't he take a discount to play for them, making a bidding war not as big of a deal?

Boston Bruins signed Jeremy Swayman (1 Year / $3,475,000 AAV)
I wonder if the 1 year term is sort of like a peace offering? I really think the Bruins view him as the goalie of the future, so going to arbitration was not ideal.
"Hey, we really wanted to pay you, but we couldn't because of our cap issues. Sorry we had to go through that process. How about next year we do things right by you? No hard feelings?"
Other than that, I've got nothing.

McIsaac isn't really special. At least not enough to trade a potential bottom-6 F and another pick. Most importantly, let's just take care of our own cheap defensemen who could be lost on waivers (Mitchell, Walsh and Regula) and all three have been better than McIsaac recently.
Personally, I prefer a young player with upside over a declining veteran in Bailey. Beecher isn't ready.

I don't know if Boston fans are gonna like that trade, <strong>but I also think it would be more shrewd to just offer sheet Swayman</strong> and trade Scheifele elsewhere.</div></div>
Swayman can't sign an offersheet anymore since he did player elected arbitration

Bruins would trade for Lindholm, but not that package. Lohrei is off limits, and trading Zacha puts the Bs in the same place as now: in need of another 1/2C.

They may be a few out there, but I have personally not seen any Boston fans claim that the Bruins will be able to trade for a bonafide 1C by offering DeBrusk 1 for 1. Just because we don't want JGP and his contract does not make us delusional.

How to fix cap issues 101
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>20 man roster, trade or buyout Murray and the cap works with Domi and Bertuzzi. Teams have started to realize that to win the cup, they need to play with serious fire when it comes to the cap. They need to be willing to burn themselves to win. If they aren't willing to get burnt by the cap and their tactics, the odds of the winning are very low. Vegas burnt themselves to a crisp 2 years ago and just missed the playoffs. Although if they made the playoffs, they would have had so many reinforcements, they would have been a serious problem for teams. Last year, they went a little less aggressive and won the cup.
Get used to 19-21 man rosters to start the year.
Getting Domi and Bert on 1 year deals, were perfect adds. Klingberg has a lot of use, and I can see his need but he is the one I thought they misspent on (and Reaves). I thought they needed size and physicality in their D. Which Klingberg is not. He is a super talented shooter and puck mover though, so it could end up working out nicely.
I disagree with your take, because the Leafs aren't in a serious cap problem. Although that does change if Samsonov gets over 4m a year (which I think is unlikely).</div></div>
Best of luck to you guys on this strategy.
