Nylander, Ullmark and a 2nd for Fowler?
Nylander has only had half a season in the AHL..... Give him some time before you sell him off. He hasn't even started his Entry Level deal yet so we have plent of time for him to grow into a great player which I think he can be. McCabe has been looking solid playing top pair minutes with Risto. The Sabres issues this year have been all the injuries. Last I looked the Sabres had the second most time missed due to injuries based on player average ice time.

I'm with Shibbal18 on this one, I think Lehner has been doing great this year when you consider how bad the injury bug has hit the Sabres this year. With 31 games in the books O’Reilly was out for 6, Kane was out for 11, Eichel out for 21, Ennis has only played 12 games this year, Gorges broke his foot but was only out for 3 games, Kulikov has only played in the last 17, Bogosian and Deslauriers have only played 11 each. With the number of top bluelines and top line forwards we have had go down at the beginning of the year for us to be around .500 is amazing and speaks to how well Lehner and Nilsson have played to keep us within striking distance of 3rd place in the division. We are what 5 points back of Boston with 3 games in hand for 3rd place. The biggest hard spot with Lehner and Nilsson for that matter is getting a win in the shootout but we would have to have someone that can score a goal on the shootout for that to happen. I think GMTM tries to keep both Lehner and Nilsson next year if he can get good contracts. I think your going to see Kulikov stick around as well. I don’t see picking up Oduya on the 2 year contract either. I think trading Reinhart would be a mistake as well, your justification is because we are stronger on the RW then LW but you trade away a very good RW/C and bring up Nylander to play the spot you would have had Reinhart in? I would rather have Nylander on the LW with Jack and Kyle and leave Reinhart with O’Rielly and either Foligno, Ennis, or Kane on that wing.

NHL 2017/2018 $79 mil
Ennis will not be playing Center, more then likely will be LW on Eichel’s or O’Rielly’s line….. Eichel with be first line Center by 17/18…. Riemhart will more then likely be on Eichel’s right wing….. Ristolainen will get more then 3.4mil per year and will be first pairing not 3rd. O’Reilly and Okposo I think will be second line with Kane or Ennis on LW…. I also don’t see the Sabres picking up Pavelec as a starting Goalie will be on the wrong side of 30 and coming off a 0.904 SVS %.... The Sabres will resign Lenher if he has a good year which I believe he will…. The Sabres will also probably let Gionta go next year, maybe offer him a coaching job or something…. Unless Franson has much better year then last year he will not be resigned either…..

When you say you have 31 year old D signed until he's 40 I say you have horrible contract and that would get you laughed out of building when you bring up Reinhart's name for that.

Wow horrible trade for the Sabres, not to mention didn't sign the guy that has that spot already in Risto. I don't see the sabres giving up Reinhart to take on your horrible contract. You also left the retired guy in McCormick starting the 3rd line, it will be interesting seeing him do that from couch.

VAN trade
Wow, where to begin: Risto is RD thus he would be first pair right side and Kulikov will be paired with him. McCabe is LD thus would be on the left side and would be on the second pairing with Bogo on the right side. Gorges and Franson would be 3rd pairing. McCormick has announced he was retiring due to medical, so would be on LTIR and not centering the 4th line. Larsson should be centering the 4th line and my guess is Foligno will be the LW on that 4th line as well. I don’t see Rienhart being on the 3rd line just so he can play center, so he would be on the second line RW, where he played last year. Ennis would be first or second line LW. Moulson should on the 3rd line LW with Girgensons at center.
The trade would leave the Sabres without another a good option to put on the LW with either the top line or second line depending on where you stick you Ennis. Not to mention, your basically trading Kane straight up for Virtanen which I don’t see the value coming back to the Sabres to make this worthwhile. I’m guessing because he was a 6th overall pick in 2014 so he should have skill but he has what 55 games in the NHL. This is also saying I don’t know much about Virtanen’s game just don’t see trading a top 6 left winger for a guy we are going to throw on the 3 line RW when we have a lot of RW ready to make the next step and short on LW top talent.

Sabres- 16/17 Prediction
I think your going to see McCabe playing with Zack on the second pairing pushing Gorges to the 3rd pairing with Cody. I also think your going to see the Kane, Eichel, and Reinhart line we had at the end of last year that was really starting to mesh well. I would start Okposo out with O'Reilly and Ennis which I think would be great line.

I would also switch Kane and Ennis. I like how Kane played with Jack and Sam last year and think he can watch out for them while they are on the ice to make sure no one trys to take a run at one of them. I also think Ennis' skills would mess better with O'Reilly and Okposo.

Wow, that CBJ trade looks really miss matched. I would think Pacioretty for Jenner straight up would be a really hard sell because of age and contracts but to also throw in Ryan Murray that seems a bit excessive.

Opening night line-up
Ennis needs to play on 1st or 2nd line to use his skill properly. I see him playing with O'Reilly and Okposo. I also see Sam, Jack, and Kane playing on the same line now weather Ryan's line or Jack's line is the 1st or 2nd doesn't bother me but from past performance thats the way I see it broken up. On Guhle, yes he is better then Nelson but Guhle is a Left Defensemen, so why would you bring him up and burn a year of his contract to play on the other side? I actually see Bailey staring over Fasching but it will be who ever has a better camp.

If all player in the world cup is hurt
Lets start out by saying McCormick anounced he is retired due to medical issues from blood clots so please place him on LTIR. Risto would still be signed for around 5-6mil a year for 6-8 years, though under yuor conditions would be placed on LTIR since he is playing in the World Cup. Ennis would slide to 1st line LW, Moulson would drop to 3rd line LW, and two of either Nylander, Bailey, or Fasching would be brought up from the AHL to play RW 2nd line and 3rd lines. This would push Foligno, Larsson, and Gionta to the 4th line. In this case I could also see Guhle being called up to play LD.

Internal budgeting: sabre perspective.
I really know nothing about where Montour projects and this deal would swing on him since Stoner is only really a depth D who is over paid for just depth. Thus Montour would need to be someone thats ready to step in next year in at least on the 3rd pairing and project into top 4 for me to be taking on a CAP dump and giving up Baptiste and a second round pick. Also with your lines Fasching is a natural RW so would put him there on the 3rd line, if he stays up out camp, that would put Ennis on left side either on 1st or 2rd line.

BUF (2016-2017)
All 3 of these trades are horrible for the Sabres.... Your giving up Girg and Franson, who both only have 1 year on there contracts, for an AHL defensemen and two 3rd round picks. I think if were going to sell both these players it will be at the trade deadline and would be for more then that. Your taking on 6 years of 5.9mil for Brown who isn’t the player Kane is, who we only have to put up with 2 more years before we can let him walk, and Brown will need a walker by the time we see then end of contract so will kill our cap down the road which Kane will not. Your giving up Ennis who only has 3 years left for a worse player in Callahan who is paid 1.4 mil more and has the extra year…. The only reason your cap space looks nice is because you didn’t bother signing our RFA Risto who will be getting 5-6mil a year and you dropped out Girg and Franson from this year but really that cap space isn’t need until Jack and Sam need new contracts, when Brown and Callahan’s contract would be killing us. You also have Bitetto starting as second pairing LD, like really he is 26 and played a total of 30 games in the NHL and making 600K? You have Gorges playing off side on top pairing, this is the spot that have Risto written in pen. BTW put the guy who already announced 3 months ago he was retiring due to injury on LTIR, psss its McCormick.

Yah he announced he was retiring back in like June, due to the blood clots issue he had been dealing with the last few years but for some reason people keep putting him in the line up as 3rd or 4th line center on these rosters. Its how I can tell if someone actually follows the Sabres or not when they leave he on the roster. I will say at least LilAdriel didn’t have him in starting roll like I have seen before, so was giving the benefit of the doubt that knew he was retired and didn’t bury the contract because he was still under cap.

Sabres Bring in Panarin
No way do I see the Sabres trading Reinhart for Panarin and Crawford. I see the Sabres not wanting to spending big money on a goalie, that money is going to go to Jack and Sam. Besides Panarin is more a product of his line then anything else while Sam creates with who ever we put him with. Thats not even throwing in the 2rd round, Lehner and Girgensens both of which are RFA's.

If we did get Yakupov I think he would be on the left side 2nd line. That would push Girgensons to the 3rd line center and Ennis out to the right wing. I would also put McCormick on LTIR. On the trade, I don’t think we would get any picks back from trading Foligno for Yakupov. I also think your overpaying for Ristolainen, would think his deal is going to be closer to 5 - 5.5 AAV.

The one trade of these I wouldn’t do personally, would be the Kane trade. The JVR would really be interesting but don't think it would ever happen simply because its the Leafs.

Didn't know they could do that for the expansion draft but that still leaves the question why would Fleury waive his? If Fleury doesn't, he would have to be protected, meaning Murray would get moved making Fleury the #1 goalie for a cup contender instead of the #1 for an expansion team that would be years from seeing the playoff let alone contending for the cup.

I don't think players can waive their NMC to be exposed in the expansions draft. I think the Penguins' best hope is to get him to waive his NMC to be traded before the expansion draft, if you don't want to expose Murray.
Besides if he doesn’t get traded before the expansion draft, he would have be protected. This would mean Murray would get scooped up in the draft or traded before the draft, placing Fleury back as the undisputed #1 goalie for the Pens. So were would it benefit Fleury to waive his NMC anyway?

Just noticed it was for 7 years thus for the offersheet it would be 7.7 AAV since its more then 5 years. In that case it would 2 First, 1 Second, and 1 Third. Seems foolish I team would go more then 5 years on an offer sheet meaning they would giving up more picks for less money.

Actually from what I am seeing on:
<a href="http://www.generalfanager.com/draftpicks/offersheets" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.generalfanager.com/draftpicks/offersheets</a>
An offersheet of 5,500,000 a year would fall into the "$3,755,233 to $5,632,847" range which would be one First and one Third Round Pick.
The range that puts you into the 2 First Round Picks, 1 Second and 1 Third Round Pick range is $7,510,464 to $9,388,080.
