Gotta do something now right NYR
I get that Georgiev most likely doesn´t get the return that Rangers fans hope for. But in my opinion DeAngelo has a ton of value. He is not good defensivly, no question about it. But he is elite offensivly and wouldn´t be a rental. He is an RFA after this season and still very young. If you look at advanced stats and compare him to Dumba, I would take DeAngelo all day. Dumba is not good on D, still better than DeAngelo, but Dumba is nowhere near to DeAngelos offense.
But anyways I don´t think DeAngelo will be traded this deadline + Toronto doesn´t really need a guy like him

Kreider is the biggest name left on the market. The only reason why NYR shouldn't get 1st back is if they want an A prospect included

Going even younger
Why should the Rangers trade Wall? I doubt that teams would pay much for him before he made his first AHL/NHL games. His value is low altough he has great potential. With Lundqvists contract up after next season Wall could be ready to be the backup to Shestjorkin (Georgiev is gone) so you can still figure out which one you want to keep. And also Wall will still be on his ELC by then. If they have cap problems he could be a perfect solution to that.
His value would be highest after an half/full season in the NHL

Montreal should do that without a doubt. Price is not playing good, he still has a lot of potential to bounce back he hasn´t done it the last 3 years so it is more and more unrealistic. If Price would be traded he won´t get you much with that contract

Georgievs SV% and GAA are better than those of Lundqvist. Here is Lundqvist on the graph. I guess I don´t have to explain you That GSAE is the best method to evaluate a goalie

The Rangers have by far the worst Defense in the league. You can´t argue with GAA or SV%, because with similar performance Georgiev would easily have a GAA of below 2.5 on the Ilanders.
Unfortunately there are only starters on this graph, but Lundqvist´s GAA and SV% are worse than Georgiev´s. Kepp that in mind when you look at Lundqvists position on this graph:

Then the Rangers have to lower their expectation. But they will wait until the Deadline before they are going to accept offers with smaller reaturns.
But there are 2 arguments that he has higher value right now:
- Some teams like SJ could looking to improve their goaltending now. There are teams who don´t want to wait until the Deadline
- He is a cost-controlled goalie. He is RFA this summer. Even if they would go to arbitration he would still be RFA after that year -> maybe a good option if they can´t pay Andersen in two years

Its already clear that the Rangers won´t trade him for Bracco and a pick. Toronto would need to add on this. If Toronto don´t want to trade him for more, they should look for another backup solution...

The difference between Lundqvist and Price is that Price is not playing well at the age of 31. Lundqvist is 37 and a Top 10 goalie in the league right now. But there is obviously room for a bounceback for Price

Price is not a good goalie anymore. Combined with his bad performance he has one of the worst contracts in the league already. And still plenty of term left

Big deadline trades with rangers and vancouver

I guess the Rangers would wait and see which pick they will get in the draft anyways. If they can pick up a center in the top 6- top 8 they wont trade for another center. This would make either Strome or Howden expandable. So if they can not pick up a center in the draft who can play as 2nd line center within the next 2 seasons they might trade for another guy. But I think they wont rush that decission and make a trade before the draft

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>More picks and prospects? How many do you need?
Look at who you added this summer and for how long, your D is set for years, likely extending Zibenejad in a couple seasons plus your strong on the wings for the foreseeable future, all you need is a 2C really, not sure if Nashville would do this though.</div></div>
We have a (low end) 2nd line center in Ryan Strome who is playing very well offensivly this season. So we don´t need another 26+ year old center who will be on the wrong side of 30 when the Rangers will be contenders and a very high cap hit when we need guys like Kakko, Kravtsov, Zibanejad, Shestjorkin,... want to get paid. So a center 24 years or younger would be more preferable

I don´t think that this trade would benefit the Rangers. I think they are still looking for picks and prospects rather then "older" roster players. In my opinion Johansen is on the decline already, and with the Rangers cap situation they wouldn´t want that high cap hit. And I don´t think that they want to move Gross until they have seen him on North American ice. He played well during the WJC so I guess they want to keep him a bit longer.
