ANA CAR OTT three way
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NDoody</b></div><div>Cap issues are gone mostly after this season, they have almost $5M coming off books in dead cap and the 5-6 M the cap is going up.
this is a horrible trade for ottawa and a huge no. Need to have a young top 9 forward coming back.</div></div>
Careful you gotta say top 9 with top 6 potential. If you just say top 9, theyll send you a 28+ year old career 3rd liner

Non-Pinto Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NDoody</b></div><div>You could get Jospeh and a pick to take his salary, but you're not getting JDB on top of that.
Also just moving JDB doesn't free up enough cap to sign Pinto which is likely 2.5 per on a bridge deal.
JDB has been very slow in development and at most would only still be a 7th D this year, more than likely Kleven ( 21 yr old, 6'4, LD who played/s at North Dakota with Sanderson, comparable is Phanef) rockets past him in the Ottawa depth charts if he shows well at camp and was already top 3 in fitness training this week.</div></div>
Gotcha, but with the Sens actively pursuing a playoff spot, it seems essential to have Pinto in the line-up to make that happen. A move is coming, but no matter how you look at it, they are at the disadvantage when it comes to make a move. I could see a decent prospect on the back end being moved, since with Chychrun, Chabot, Sanderson, Zub, Brannstrum and Hamonic seemingly being the 6, they could 'afford' to lose one.

Opening Night
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NDoody</b></div><div>Chabot is playing the LEft side in camp, which would be a great move if it works.</div></div>
He's a LHD and played left all his career, please explain
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NDoody</b></div><div>I also have a hard time believing that the Sens would ship out Kubalik right after acquiring him. It is a bad look for the Sens and makes it harder to sign FA's. New owner likely also doesn't want that bad optics as the first move team makes with him as owner.</div></div>
I don't get this argument... It's not like they signed Kubalik as a UFA. Dorion made his choice and decided to sign Tarasenko, which stole Kubalik's PP spot and made him redundant
They didn't "acquire" him. Dorion insisted to get a 1st in return for DeBrincat (for the optics) and took whatever else he could. Wings wanted to move Kubalik since they were getting a huge upgrade in DeBrincat
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NDoody</b></div><div>I think it is more likely that Branstrom of Joseph is moved. If Kevein shows up at camp, (which it looks like he is already coming in top 3 of fitness testing, would make it easier to move on branstrom.</div></div>
Joseph is a better ES (and PK of course) player than Kubalik and it would cost asset(s) to move him. Brannstrom is a possibility since Kleven is coming up but Dorion has to get a good asset for him, like a good forward prospect.

ANA CAR OTT three way
Drury and Helleson are most likely not even needed (even as support players) for the foreseeable future...
Chabot, Sanderson, Chychrun, Zub, Brannstrom/Kleven, Hamonic, JBD, Guenette, Donovan, etc
Stutzle, Norris, Greig, Ostapchuk
Sens WANT Pinto, not Drury
I'd much rather waive Kubalik or even Brannstrom than do this, even if it doesn't make sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>They have cap issues, so would have to be ELCs. And adding ELCs that can play in top-6 will cost a lot.</div></div>
Cap issues are very small and only for this season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>How would you change? Maybe a better RD from Anaheim?</div></div>
It would make more sense for Ottawa to get Jarvis in the deal instead of him going to Anaheim. Anaheim would then get Drury. I'd rather see Luneau going to Ottawa as well instead of Helleson. Ottawa could also send a 2nd or 3rd round pick to even things out more. Either way, I'd still rather see Pinto stay in Ottawa, but if he needs to be traded, this would be more fair.

Just goes to show how the Sens improved overall depth since last year. Even if Norris gets injured again they'll still have a good top six.

5 reasons why Giroux would be a better LW for Tarasenko than Batherson
It should be :
Tkachuk-Stutzle-Tarasenko
Giroux-Norris-Batherson
Giroux has played LW before and will help take the faceoffs from Norris whose shoulder injury requires him not to take faceoffs. Also Batherson will be sheltered with the Sens 2 best defensive forwards

fitting pinto
What's with everyone's obsession of flipping Kubalik? I have seen multiple ACGM doing this, they literally just acquired him, he's still somewhat young, and on a good AVV. Why on earth would the Sens trade him without giving him a chance. Such a lateral move to get rid of him just to bring in an older Tatar.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ecupirate07</b></div><div>What happens when Forsberg comes back?</div></div>
Insane proposal: Start the season with Joseph-Stutzle-Tarasenko, Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson, Greig-Pinto-Giroux, Sokolov-Kastalic-Kubalik/MacEwan.
In the first 15-20 games Joseph will prove last season was just a down year and he's good to go, thereby making him much easier/cheaper to move.

If we are going to be sellers at the 2024 trade deadline
I highly doubt Tarasenko will waive his NTC at any point this year and even if he did it would only be for a select few teams, thus negatively impacting his value.
If he does get traded, it will be for a 3rd round pick.

Scheifele and Helle deals
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NDoody</b></div><div>Yah they have a little over $4M in cap space rn with Kevin Bahl still to sign.
Next summer Dawson Mercer is due. Even at a bridge deal and resigning players for less they don't have the money to offer him anything near what he wants.
Basically, they would have to give up assets, and likely more than you mentioned just to have him for one year and then try and sign and trade him else where.</div></div>
Jets have to take vanecek back at least. I’m not sure why fans are scared of adding good players and having to make a move or two to make it work. Look at vegas lol. They added good players and made the money work and they won a cup doing it.
