Isles would need to send cap back at this point, whether it's JG Pageau or someone else. I think that's dead in the water at this point.

We have heard of the Islanders being involved in Cat for awhile. knowing how Lou operates like the CIA, we wouldn't hear anything until the trade happens.

However having read and heard about Walstroms contract situation right now, makes me think more that this could be a real scenario for the Sens. Double Sign and Trade!
He is a great young player that hasn't blossomed just yet, but can likely be a 20-goal scorer.

Heard this as well, but Sens can not take back much cap space, Islanders would have to make a move somewhere else to dump cap space and fit Debrincat.

Islanders are up against the cap like Ottawa, This doesn't get the job done. Pageau would need to go back plus they'd need to get rid of another hefty salary like Kyle Palmieri to make it work.

FWIW per his list, DeBrincat would agree to sign long term with both Detroit and Nashville. Very doubtful he would with the islanders.

      Lombardi is a helluva prospect.
Also helps that the only team we can 100% say with certainty that DeBrincat will re-sign with is Detroit.

Take out Brannstrom and take out Lombardi, upgrade the 4th to a 3rd, and deal

That's why I think it's dead in the water. Even if we say this package makes it happen, they still probably have to spend another premium pick to clear a Pageau or Palmieri deal off the cap to fit him (and then find a body to replace the player they just dumped!) Before they re-signed the entire team to 7 year deals, I think there was a shot; at this point, there's just too many moving parts and too much value they'd have to sacrifice to make it work.

and this isn't just because I am partial to Pageau. But I would think the islanders wouldn't have to add assets to move him. Great in faceoff dot, good on PK. With cap going up his 5 M a season the next two years will be easy to swallow. Many teams are looking for a Defensive 3C that can play on PK

Right take glass and brannstrom and it’s closer to what he’ll get. Glass is more than likely will get the chance as our top 6 center. Trading him for a winger isn’t gonna happen

Logic makes sense, but Detroit has a lotta LD, so if Brannstrom is coming here, Johansson would be going there.
