Interesting condition there, i suspect that makes it closer however I still think it's not enough considering Mrazek is going the other way. Probably another b prospect or later pick

Gibson
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Kerfoot is a rental. By definition, any rental involved in a trade for players with 4 and 5 years' term is a throw-in. He pushes the deal under the surface because he's nowhere near the value of Comtois. Take Comtois out and I wouldn't say Kerfoot pushes the deal under water, just Mrazek.</div></div>
Lol what a stupid arguement. Really? Any rental is a throw in no matter what if there is a long term deal involved? So if Matthews had a year left on his deal and was being traded for Dahlin with 3 years left would Matthews be a throw in?

what Id expect for a return on Gibson
This seems way more reasonable than some of the other threads I've seen like Nylander, Sandin, Hirvonen, Kerfoot, and a 2nd for Gibson+Comtois lol

No kidding, that's a massive overpay lmao. Gibson has had 3 straight years of sub .905 goaltending. If that's the actual price there's no way Toronto is in on this guy. Whats the point in gutting their forward depth and losing their best defensive prospect just for Gibson? Just replacing one hole on the roster with another imo

Mrazek and Driedger are not equally bad lol Mrazek had his awful stats playing behind a very good leafs team, Driedger had to play behind the ****ing kraken. Of course his numbers took a hit.

If WAR models were actual predictors of hockey the leafs would've won a cup this century

?? Kerfoot doesn't suck lol, Anaheim could absolutely use him. Mrazek, as I explained, is for money to work. Otherwise there could be additional picks for cap retention

Leafs lines game 1 vs Tampa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logan_Ollivier</b></div><div>I am starting to like Nylander with Kampf and Engvall. It makes for a hard matchup situation. Nylander can feast on the bottom 6 and if they match up against him, then JT and Mikheyev have been building good chemistry.</div></div>
There's probably not a wrong answer here, I imagine Keefe will end up trying both at various points in the playoffs, I just think that miky-kampf-engvall has been such money every time they play it's hard to give it up.

I heard the yotes are playing Chychrun on the right as a showcase kind of thing to up his value, in any case, I think this trade wouldnt happen without more clarity on the muzzin situation

I dont see why Nashville would be interested in dealing Saros. Also, imo, the leafs need to add to both the Miller and Chychrun trades, both of those guys can fetch ~ 3 1st rounders worth of value (especially with salary retention)

I assume they only go after Miller if Muzzin is guaranteed to be LTIR'd until the 'yoffs

Thats a hefty package for Miller but i guess the canucks are in the drivers seat for a Miller trade since they dont necessarily need to. My goodness though, thats basically 3 1sts + 2nds worth of value (depending how you value Lilly).

The odds you pick 2 high-ish end prospects with 3 late first rounders is about the same as with 2nd rounders.</div></div>
Yeah I see your point. I guess it depends what the Coyotes are interested in, they already have *checks notes* 1400 draft picks this year, maybe they'd want something other than a mystery bag at this point

It would be Amirov OR Knies OR Niemela. Even with the ritchie retention combo, a 1st plus 2 or 3 top prospects is way too much for a shutdown defenseman
