Vancouver is not trading Pettersson. Assuming Vancouver has the 4th pick, I could see an offer where they offer the 2019 & 2020 1st, Gaudette, Demko

Nucks
That's a LOT to give up for a 60-ish point player, more so when Goldy is finally starting to look like a real offensive threat for the Canucks.
Schwartz is good, but I don't see how he helps the Canucks at this point in their season.

Lets see. Hes a former first round pick, has size and some scoring ability, does not skate well or set up well. Probably better as a winger, but he was brought in as a cap dump by stl to play center and take d zone starts to protect mittlestadt. It didnt work work so he got moved down to line 4 to play with larsson and girgensons where they looked decent some nights, while producing little on the scoreboard. Ive heard that he has negative corsi and fenwick overall and relative to linemates, but i didnt look at his stat sheet. What'd i miss?

Same goes with the Eriksson trade , except that contract is even worse and have no idea why anyone would touch it, let alone boston.</div></div>
I'm not saying the trade is good or bad but in all honesty calling tanev a bandaid 5/6 is laughable there's only 1 defenceman on Toronto better than tanev and that's reilly Gardiner and zaitsev may put up more points but tanev is still a better defenceman

Who has more fantasy value? Burns or EK?
If you think about it Vlasic, Burns and Karlsson would play 70 of the 120 minute of D per game. Braun would be another 20 so you only need your 3rd pair for about 15 min per man a night.

Not sure but what a great dilemma for SJ! They both will get 22-24 TOI and perhaps platoon with the 1st PP unit. I wouldn’t start them together on the man advantage.

I would think SJ plays both on their top PP unit
Kane-Couture-Pavelski
Karlsson-Burns
Unit 2 likely looks like
Meier-Thornton-Hertl
Vlasic-Labanc

Doing Steve Dangle Pyramid for Nucks, half done
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LoganOllivier</b></div><div>Demko is below DiPietro. Demko in my opinion is overrated. He has an amazing rep that I think is massively undeserved. He's thought of as the next Louongo or Schnieder by Canuck fans but he's not even the best goalie in the AHL. He was completely outplayed by Sparks who was the best goalie in the minors last year and yet Demko is a blue chipper and Sparks is a marginal prospect. Make sense of that for me.</div></div>
You also have to look at age and experience .... Demko has played 2 seasons now in the AHL improving his save % and his GAA in year 2 .... Sparks is already 25 and has already played 6 seasons in the AHL (well sort of) as he hasn't been consistent enough to stick around... and his previous season was about that same as what Demko had last year. That's why Demko is still a good prospect and Sparks is only marginal. You also have to consider the team playing in front of each goalie .... the Marlies were much better than the Comets last year.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nucks17</b></div><div>i dont see boeser being like a wheeler. wheeler is more of a power forward that drives to the net and is more or a playmaker than boeser. Boeser has more of a shoot first instinct (but still good at passing dont get me wrong), but i think Tarasenko would be the better comparason.</div></div>
I was having trouble with Boeser as I first compared him to the Sniper Sean Monahan as Boeser is also an accurate shooter. However, Monahan was a Center so that comparison was off. Then I saw that Wheeler also had a very accurate shot but barely ever used it. If Wheeler was a goal scoring winger rather than a playmaking one it'd make sense. However, I agree Tarasenko is a better comparison. In the end, Boeser will be a very unique player and one of his kind and I can't wait

Big trade with the Oil
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CzechingOut</b></div><div>Gravel had 3 points in 16 games, Hutton had 6 in 61, both are 6/7 dman
Stome and Bart both have 92 pts but Bart is a winger and Stome is a centre, points are a wash but Strome has more valuable due to being a C
Tanev has never played a full season and puts up an average of less then 15 points a season more often then not. He is an overpaid bottom pair dman on 28 teams in the league team. Nurse is a a top 4 dman. Hes also 5 years younger.
The only joke here is the thought process you used to to convince yourself that taking on Lucic's contract was worth Edmonton taking on 2 players they already have and a significant downgrade at D.</div></div>
1) When healthy*, Tanev is an excellent **** suppression partner for a more offensive-minded Dman in the top four. It’s a joke calling him a bottom pairing guy.
2) Not sure why you’re comparing Baertschi and Strome when Strome isn’t involved in the trade. The swap at forward is Baertschi for Lucic, which nets the Oilers WAY more speed on the attack and fair bit of cap space.
3) Hutton is a decent LD that was a supplementary piece to fill in for the spot that Sekera is leaving. Could be DelZotto instead though. Either way, the Oilers can walk away from their cap hits at the end of the year.

No one signs players to 4 years then trades them. Buckle in cuz Russell and Beagle are staying. Hutton on the other hand has no value. He's earning too much and no one wants him. Benning has tried moving him to no avail.
Edler shouldn't go and should be resigned for cheap with short term. He can be a solid guy eventually behind Hughes and Juolevi. Which would make a solid left side. If he does waive his no trade then canucks should look to trade him and sign a ufa to replace him

Tanev to TOR (Realistic?)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Teams do not make trades with long term trade conditions. It affects their ability to trade in the future. Leafs probably can't afford Gardiner in 2019/20 due to cap reasons. Having Tanev at 4.4m might be unaffordable too.
Leafs will have to go cheap or rather cost efficient in 2019/20 on their defence or else one of their top five forwards will have to be traded.
Despite my pleas, Canucks fans cannot find another trade partner for Tanev, which lessens his trade value even more.</div></div>
The conditional pick is 2020 but the conditions are based upon the upcoming season. Key word is "fans" can't find another trade partner. I think irl JB will keep Tanev until the deadline at least.
