need action Ehlers and UFA at D
I like the idea of trying to get Ehlers but this is not going to do it. To get him away from the peg you are going to have to overpay. Then you have to ask yourself is he worth overpaying for? Probably yes to a point but where is that point. Domi is certainly a good start. I'm guessing you are thinking of Perreault as a cap dump? I'm not sure Jets fans see it as that. We have plenty of bottom 6 guys I don't think we need to include him. So the question becomes what do you need to add.
Domi + Ylonen + 2020 2nd (Chi) or
Domi + Fluery + 2020 2nd (Chi)

The More Likely Case - No CBO and Slight Cap Increase
I doubt very much if you see a bump up in the Cap, the financial damage being caused by this virus will effect the next couple years. I would bet that to avoid the cap going down next season that they end up with a flat cap for a minimum of next 2 years.

Romanov - Weber
Struble - Petry
Norlinder - Juulsen

Honestly I think we need to trade Mete.</div></div>
I think you under value KK, IMO he will be the number one center we have longed for, for so long. He doesn't even turn 20 until next month. Either way the future looks good. It is just getting there that takes so long....lol
I'm would have no problem trading Mete, I don't see him being any more than a bottom pairing guy. He lacks the offensive side to be a top 4. Thing is we are only talking three years down the road, guys like Harris, Struble and Norlinder should all spend time in the AHL IMO, one thing having this kind of depth allows us to do is not rush guys in. Let them develop and when they do make the jump they are ready to go.... not learning on the big club.

Gallager
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LumberJacques</b></div><div>I mean theoretically they could, but the priority for MTL is keeping Gallagher around.
It would cost TOR a lot to acquire him and I doubt Dubas would be willing to give up much if he wasn't confidant he could extend him. In any case the price would be likely be the same with or without an extension in place since Bergevin would want his bases covered in the event that Gallagher didn't come back.
Also it would be hard for Dubas to justify the price paid to acquire a player in an area of great strength for the team instead of spending that capital improving areas of greater need.
All in all I struggle to see a Gallagher deal that satisfies both sides when what MTL want most is to keep him and TOR is already very strong at RW.</div></div>

Really depends on when you see this line up. If we loose to Pittsburg in the play in round and we draft at our current position of 8th, there is a chance that Cole Perfetti is in the line up sooner than later. Obviously for your CapFriendly handle you are a Domi fan, fair enough. My question about Domi has always been the same....what is he and where does he fit. He thinks he is a center but with players like Danault, Suzuki, and KK all playing center then Domi needs to play wing for us. If he can prove that he is willing to do that and produce, then I see a roll for him on our team, if not then he probably gets moved. For me I sign him to a 1 year show me deal this coming season and make him play wing. Lets see what he is.
Lets say we are talking the 2022-2023 season three years down the road, lots of things can happen between now and then. But for sake of this post we will keep most of the current guys around. Saying that I don't see all the UFA's coming back in 2021 Most likely lose Tatar.
Domi KK Drouin
Perfetti Suzuki Gallagher
Lehkenon Danault Armia
Poehling Evans Ylonen
Romanov Weber
Norlinder Petry
Mete Juulsen
I realize this leaves out a lot of guys like Fluery, Brook, Harris but these are good problems to have.

Thoughts Flat cap for 2 years no CBO
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ColonelX</b></div><div>I'm all in in your trades but got a couple questions.
1. Why not getting a 2020 1st? 19th overall so Carolina could avoid gambling next year's pick (See SJ situation) and at this spot Montreal could get a very good prospect a year earlier. Amirrov, Wallinder, Guhle or a falling Lapierre could be picked there.
2. Why bringing Paquette in this deal? He's not much of a dump for TB and I feel like Evans got full rights to fourth line duties and is ready to assume it. /// After thinking it through let's take him but put him at 4LW and let's put Evans at 4C.
Good job on bringing new stuff</div></div>
1. The bases of the Carolina trade was something in part that I had saw from a Carolina fan. I also believe that to get both a 1st round pick and Ryan Suzuki it had to be a 2021 1st instead of a 2020
2. No he isn't a huge cap dump for Tampa but for them every little bit helps. I have seen talk of bring Nate Thompson back or Dale Weise, I just think that Paquette brings more to the table. I agree that Evans is close if not ready, this upcoming playoff series with Pittsburg will tell us a lot about that.

My bad.... it was not my intension to walk him to UFA, just was going by what the Long term outlook was telling me. With that being the case, it is my opinion that we sign him to a 1 year deal to try and figure out what he is and where he fits, which at this point I honestly have no idea.

My point with this AGM is that we need to improve our LD now..... not 3-4 years from now. I personally like Skjei's game and believe he can fit right into our top four giving Romanov some time to get use to the North American game and ice.

The problem here is that no trade for Eichel makes sense. The overpay required to get Buffalo to actually move their Franchise player, especially in division is not worth it! The hole it would create in the overall roster is not worth it IMO.

Obviously Buffalo's 2020 1st would be lottery protected but if this was offered after the draft lottery for say the 7th OA pick I would do this.
There is a large group of Montreal fans that absolutely love Domi, I get it, to a point, but we need him to be a winger and he wants to play center so for me I would move him.

Domi is only useful to us if he is willing to play the wing and not pout like he did last year when he got moved to the wing. Has he got skill? Absolutely! Does he play with grit? Absolutely, sometimes too much. He takes stupid penalties, has a little to much of his old man in him. The original poster had extension in place for Brodin, that is why I said I would do this in a heart beat, no extension...no deal.
