Potential Lines Per Evason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OutCold13</b></div><div>Wonder what happens to Jost when Greenway gets healthy?
Not that interesting, the D pairings that is. The last couple years Brodin has gotten paired with Surgeon only to be undone by Suter crying or injury or even Dumba being lost on the ice without Brodin. Dumba getting lost i think has more to do with him trying to do too much when paired with a lesser talent than Brodin.</div></div>
Interesting in the sense of "will it actually work"....I'm concerned about Dumba and Midds being constantly hemmed in the zone. Brodin and Spurgeon are the breakout kings, the other two aren't particularly great at that side of things.

It's not under-rating him though. It's a spot on analysis.
Holl is <em>exactly</em> a 6th/7th d-man type.

Would this be Possible
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>No. Just for starters, Minnesota has no cap space.</div></div>
I mean, technically, sure we do. $5.7M of open availability of it, in point of fact.
Only 6 teams currently have more available cap space than the Wild do right now. Stars, Blackhawks, Red Wings, Ducks, Sabers, and finally the Yotes.
Just because we <em>could</em>, doesn't mean we <em><strong>should</strong></em>.
And we most definitely shouldn't.

Using remaining cap space
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OutCold13</b></div><div>Kerfoot isn't a big enough prize for Wild to blow their cap space on. Cap space is king in this market. If Leafs want space they hand over Kerfoot and a pick/prospect for a 6th/7th or even future considerations. Kerfoot doesn't do enough for the Wild roster.</div></div>
I couldn’t agree more!

Why would the Wild trade away a more productive, cheaper, younger player who plays center in Hartman for an older, more expensive, and less productive player who doesn’t even play effective center anymore in Granlund?

It works just fine if Heinen isn't signed, great pick up in NHL 21 franchise mode, but a bust in the real world.
Without having signed Heinen that'd give us 13 forwards and 7 defenseman with $1.4M left in cap space. We can afford Puljujärvi just fine as long as Kulikov gets moved out.
Edit: And I wouldn't move Hartman for Puljujärvi straight up.

It's not like we'd trade him for that anyway. It would take a gross overpay for us to consider it. And this ain’t it.

For sure, I just wanted to throw something out there to depict the type of thing I was referring to, but didn’t wanna get into a value argument with Sens fans.
I agree with you though

Minnesota just traded Fiala because they couldn't afford him. They won't take McDonagh. Also, if TB did get Middleton, they would play him he had a lot of interest around the deadline from teams for his sound defensive play.

Just keep Severson and everything else out of it.
Keep it simple, the NJ 1st and a B-level prospect and call it a day.

If NJ is trading their 1st for Fiala, I doubt that NJ gets Minnesota's 1st back as well, let alone Dumba, Addison and a 2nd for Severson. Greedy, keep it simple (Oh this isnt even a NJ fan's ACGM lol, why would you want to throw away assets like that)

I don’t think Minnesota takes that. They did wave rem pitlick this season, they don’t really have room for drouin.
I think they’d opt for a 10-15 1st and a prospect over this type of package.

Whistles staying in the pocket helps the blues alot

Fiala Draft Picks and Prospects
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OutCold13</b></div><div>I think Guerin would ask for Räty and possibly the 1st he would balk at Bellows discussion on here.
Räty may have higher potential but Lou couldn't care less about the future. Islanders are a team who are long in the tooth, so they need to prioritize players who can play now. A Barzal-Fiala combo might be to good to pass up for Lou.
Not sure Guerin can walk away with both Räty and the 13th pick but it is a weaker draft so maybe.</div></div>
The thing is, Raty could be playing in the NHL as soon as next year. He’s already in the AHL, as he just joined to team for the playoffs, so if things go well there and in training camp this offseason, he could very well make the team next year.

If Moose can't go I would suspect either Duhaime or D-Lo play on that line.
As for the 4th line, as good as Dewar has played this year I think it's more probable Bjugstad draws in instead to play with Jost and whomever stays on the 4th line between Duhaime or Desluariers.

Dumba Moving and Staying Competitive
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OutCold13</b></div><div>Is Spence really worth all that? The Dumbs trade is great if Columbus agrees and if Columbus isn't on Dumba's M-NTC.
Middleton can get more. Maybe he agrees to a team friendly deal for next 3 years because he likes it here.
I agree Deslauries should be re-signed he keeps Foligno in the game, unless Duhaime hits the gym and trains to become a better enforcer.
No taxi squad next year so I'm not sure if that's your AHL rotation of guys that get call ups. My point though is that Bjugstad at that price will get claimed off waivers.</div></div>
I used the taxi squad to show some of the guys I think could get called up next. Kinda like right now we are seeing with the 4th line.

Agreed. His whole contract needs to be moved. We realistically shouldn't be retaining salary on any trade made in the next 3 years. We have more than enough dead cap space as it is.

You are going to have to have a great sales pitch on Norlinder for this to make any sense…especially because he’s a LHD…which the Wild have a plethora of!
