I like Sam’s potential he was a high first round pick for a reason and the kid is 22. CBJ needs more from the center postion and Sam can be a good one for many years to come. He has the size to grind like a Dubois but the speed to match and is a great fit for CBJ style of play. I’ve seen all i need to see fron Wennberg. Bjorkstrand needs more playing time than CBJ can give and is stuck on 3rd and 4th lines. Yes i’m willing to do this trade as both need a change of scenery and we have a pipeline of young defensemen to replace Nutty.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Juice</b></div><div>Ummm. Yes.</div></div>
Then you can see why Bob would be an attractive option for Florida. Anaheim heh...maybe not. Gibson's play is holding strong right now, wasn't certain they bet the franchise long-term with him. Bob is known to have interest playing in Florida from inside sources in Columbus so he may take a slight discount to play there. By discount I mean 9 mill range instead of 10. I still think he's asking too much and his real value at this point in his career is 7.5 to 8.5 mill range.

Trade with Edmonton
Why do people think “oh just let him go free agency we can sign him next year”. Its not that easy people. Panarin will have his choice of teams and you will be in a bidding war for his services on top of that. If you make a trade you jump to the front of the line convincing him to resign. Panarin has no interest in EDM over the draw of New York or Florida anyways

Nylander has a poor work ethic and a huge cap number. I know his issues in Toronto playing his way more toward 4th line and the minors than a top line. The Jackets don’t want your baggage. On paper it looks good but I know turd we are getting, nice try

Florida and Carolina, Anaheim maybe? Not sure how Bob feels about the west coast. He wants warm weather. Its a problem for the Jackets that the two top candidates are in the Metro. We don’t want to help our division rivals and have to play against a vengeful Bob.

Let me narrow it down for you. Bob wants to be on coast, Bob wants a warm weather state. If EDM thinks their smart waiting until free agency to have a shot a Bob their also wrong. They will be in a bidding war with Carolina, Florida, and others where Bob won’t choose EDM anyway.

I like Tarasenko but this solves no need for the Jackets. Our pipeline of D-men is solid and while some wingers could be upgraded, this trade would have to be for a center not a winger.

By all account you don’t know anything. Bob is the one who wants out and is strongly rumored to want to go to Florida. Panarin is more on the fence than outsiders think he is and has been dead silent on his true intentions other than gauging how bad Columbus wants to keep him/ pay him.

We can threaten to trade him anywhere else that has the center we need. Many teams have them. Only 1 or 2 elite goalies ever come on the open market per year. Supply and demand my friend. You need a better goaltender, and so do half the teams in the NHL. Bob has said he will wave his NMC to finish the season somewhere else, meaning you risk not getting him at all. He may end up liking the team that he finishes with. Florida is on his list but so is Carolina, Anaheim and many others. If other teams show more interest in his services he could change his mind. Nothing is set in stone and free agency is a long way out. Many things will change by then, the only thing certain is a deal.

Hoffman is 29 yrs old and Bob is 30. Bob has 4-5 very good years left. Bob is an elite goaltender who will win you many games by himself on any given night. Your goalie sucks ass. Bob is worth more than Hoffman. I was being generous in that trade throwing in Milano and swapping draft picks to balance it out for us more.

We absolutely have the trade power to make the moves we need to be contenders. Our weakness is the center position right down the middle. With the current roster as is your right, but thats the point of this thing. To think what if management was bolder. The Jackets are loaded with good young defenders. Some who can’t get ice time would be in top 2 pairings on other teams. We are wealthier than you think and have what a lot of teams covet.

I hope so, but we have a log jam of good young defensemen that need ice team and Murray is injury prone. The amount of time he's missed is staggering. Will he stay healthy or is it just a matter of time? His trade value may never be higher. My feeling is something has to give

Contending without Bob
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bluejackets2000</b></div><div>Fortunately, Murray can’t just sign with another team, he is still restricted (RFA) status. He is playing well, like a top pair D man, and Harrington and Nuti too. Carlsson can’t even get a roster spot. Savard is playing well too, he made a great assist last night on Panarin’s goal. I wouldn’t write Savard off just yet. Playoffs require experience and depth, especially at D. These guys are mostly young, but really good, just not flashy. There’s a lot to be said for the scouting and development over the last 5 or so years. The next wave coming up will be goaltenders...Veeti V., Elvis, and the Kid up in Cleveland, Kivliekens, I can’t wait to see them in the near future.</div></div>
Yeah i wanted to mention Elvis Merzlikins but post got too long. Im really pumped going forward about putting our faith in Korpi and Elvis getting the call to back him up. Thats why i don’t see any reason to trade for a goaltender at all. The Jackets main priority has to be getting another elite center for a 2nd very dangerous scoring line. Best defense is a good offense cliche rings very true. This also give us so much more flexibility and balance to our lines. It may even convince Panarin to stay because it tells him we are serious about chasing a cup. The guys i really want traded while we still can are Wennberg, Bjorkstrand, and Sonny Milano. If Dubinsky wasn’t our best faceoff guy i’d dump him too.

Think about the fact that your trading Bob to another team in the Metro division. We will be playing against him many games per season. Trades with PIT OTT CAR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>The value isn't bad for Ottawa, but they decline.
I don't think Ottawa is interested in Milano. I don't know if he'll ever reach his full potential, and with Formenton, Balcers and Tkachuk all competing for those LW spots, I don't know that he'd be given the chance to succeed in Ottawa. I think Bjorkstrand is a much better fit for Ottawa. He can step in immediately to a top six role in Ottawa, and we need more natural RW players in the system.
As much as I would love to see Ottawa add Texier (I love players from non hockey countries), he doesn't address a need in Ottawa. Same with Carlsson. I'd rather drop both of them in favor of someone who can play The Right side D. Would Nutivaara be a guy CBJ would consider moving?</div></div>
I want to keep Harrington anyway. The 2 defenders I would be willing to trade are Ryan Murray and David Savard. Murray only resigned a 1 year deal last year. Why? I think he wants a change of scenery and we may lose him anyway if he tests free agency in offseason. Murray is playing great right now too but we need to get value for him. He can play either side. I think the natural born Canadian would agree to a new deal with Ottawa.

Contending without Bob
We don’t want Sam Gagner back, he gave incosistant effort and was often just plain not good. Harrington is becoming a good young defensemen in our starting rotation. I would trade Murray who is on a 1 year deal, is injury prone, and is probably signing with a new team this offseason anyway (even though he is playing well now). Savard could be traded too, he is a slow skating defender that gets beat by speed too often but plays well below the blue line and in PK. I think our most likely trade partners will be Florida Panthers, and Ottawa Senators. Werenski is actually our worst defender by goals allowed while he’s on ice. Seth Jones, Nutty, Harrington, Werenski, Carlson and Kukan are all 25 or under, most haven’t reached their prime and are the future of the Jackets.

If Panarin Leaves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Flyers2000</b></div><div>Idk what Bobrovsky wants to do but I’m pretty sure Panarin wouldn’t want to re-sign with Ottawa. Unless it’s a sign and trade Ottawa wouldn’t want pending UFAs as the main return for Stone and Duchene. As for Calgary, I just don’t see why they would make a big trade like that when they are doing as good as they are. Bringing in a good player makes sense, getting rid of one or more of their key guys doesn’t</div></div>
Did you read the trade details? This is a potential 3 way trade setup for Ottawa. It is also about what is possible. Not, lets be ultra realistic about everything. The trades themselves are relatively fair value. Calgary will be bounced in the first round of the playoffs by the Sharks because they have no defense. This trade addresses that
You do realize Tkachuk is on the last year of his deal? Ottawa is desperate after their “uber incident” and has a rapidly aging roster that needs to get younger with few high draft picks. Bob might resign because at the end of the day he wants to play and Sens need a consistent guy between the pipes badly. Like i said in description though, Panarin and Bob can be flipped and Ottawa may not be their final destination, but demand for their services will be high. This will get the Sens what they need in a 3 way trade. I just could not speculate what that is since I don’t know their needs and don’t watch many games in that division. I knew these trades would be radical when I posted it, but was having fun thinking what would be crazy yet still in the realm of possible if the Blue Jackets went big.

Trade with Senators
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jacketsman61</b></div><div>Interesting deal but two issues here. One is the Jackets are in a playoff run and the Jackets can't just go with Korpisalo. They would need another deal to bring in a goaltender for the playoffs. Two is Bobrovsky would have to waive his NMC. Not sure he will do anything to help the Jackets in this regard. He will get a better chance to make more money on his next contract if he shines in the playoffs.</div></div>
Bob shine in playoffs? We’ve already seen he can’t do that. Bob has not got it done in the playoffs. He just doesn’t have that “it factor”. We have not won 1 series with him. So why not give Korpi his shot to be the man. Also we have Elvis Merzlikins a top goalie prospect playing out of his mind right now and should be called up when Bob leaves. If Bob is as unhappy as he looks why wouldn’t he wave his NMC?
