Lindholm for Byfield amp Iaffalo
If this trade happened, Calgary's Top 6 would most likely consist of (in no particular order) Huberdeau, Kadri, Pelletier, Dube, Mangiapane, and Toffoli, all players who I see to be better/can be better than Iaffalo and Byfield right now. While I do think Iaffalo is a solid third line player and Byfield has Top 6 upside, it doesn’t make sense to me why Calgary would do this deal when they can have Kadri and Dube as 1C and 2C. I do agree that the value is fair, but I don’t think Calgary would trade their 1C for two players who would be third liners next year, nor do I think that Byfield would do any better on Calgary’s third line than he did on LA’s.

Lafreniere to Toronto
Conditions:
If Acciari doesn’t resign with NYR, Toronto’s 2024 fourth round pick becomes their 2025 3rd
If Kerfoot doesn’t resign with NYR, Toronto gives up their 2024 first round pick
If neither player resigns, NYR gets Toronto’s 2024 first round pick, their 2024 third round pick (via NYI) and 2024 fourth round pick

Kaapo to the Leafs
I hear rumors all the time that Robertson could play in Leafs Top 6 next year, depending on how he develops. I wouldn’t trade someone with that potential for a backup goalie. Besides, Big Save Dave will probably be a FA lol.

The rebuild is “probably over”, is a bit of a stretch, albeit a noncommittal one.
Are we expecting to hit on our 1st round pick this year to break out for another ROY run in 2023? Is Rasmussen, Veleno or Zadina going to magically ‘figure it out’? Are we expecting Edvinsson, Berggren, Wallinder, Soderblom & Johannsen to come in and play like studs this year and/or next? It’s possible.
But if a majority of that doesn’t happen, Wings won’t make the playoffs, which is what I would consider exiting the rebuild, until 2024.

Bertuzzi in place of Fabbri would make more sense from a value perspective, but I also think this all comes down to money. If both teams can afford these players, it’ll benefit both teams. If not, the deal is probably off.

Detroit’s rebuild is probably over by the start of next season, and Larkin is not someone who should be playing in a bottom 6 role, so I think both teams say no.

NYR On Tilt
Being a Rangers fan, I don’t want to see this go down. If this deal happened, we’d have either Scheifele or Zibanejad on our second line. If you were GM of the Rangers, would you really trade a recent 2nd overall pick, two top 60 picks and a young winger for someone on an expiring contract who potentially will play on your second line? I don’t think so.
I don’t hate the idea of Kakko getting traded, I just don’t think this is what a trade for him would look like.

My Oh My
Mrazek was recently placed on waivers, so Toronto wouldn’t have the option to trade him until he clears waivers (if he does) at 2pm ET. And honestly, after Georgiev’s 44 save shutout vs. the Canes last night, the Rangers are either not going to trade him or they’re going to ask for a higher price than that.

Domi to NYR
Being a Rangers fan, I can’t see Domi getting traded to New York and seeing him fit. Our Left Wing depth is already stacked, with Kreider and Panarin in the top six. And with the new acquisition of Frank Vatrano, I can’t see Chris Drury trading a second round pick for a bottom six forward. I don’t know where Domi will get traded (if he does), especially with the Leafs running low on draft picks now, but it most-likely will not be Manhattan.

TOR DO SOMETHING
While I do think Crouse and Chychrun would be good fits on the Leafs, I’m not sure if this is what the trade would look like. For Chychrun, part of the return Arizona wants is a high-end prospect. I wouldn’t exactly call Hirvonen a top-tier prospect, as he was a late second-round pick (he’s doing good in Finland though, don’t get me wrong). I’m not sure why you included Dermott and Kerfoot in the deal, aside from if it has something to do with salary cap and/or roster space, but if the Yotes don’t have interest in those two, they could be sent somewhere else as this could possibly be a three-way deal. Other than that, I don’t hate the idea of Toronto bringing in these two guys.

Vegas doesn’t accept this deal because they already have good right wingers on their depth chart. Also, acquiring Kessel puts them over the league maximum salary cap.
Ottawa doesn’t accept because they wouldn’t just give away their newest first rounder plus a second for Dvorak, who showed the entire league he’s just a middle six guy. Many scouting agencies projected Boucher to go in the 30’s and 40’s, so Ottawa wouldn’t draft him 10th overall if they didn’t know he was a hidden gem.
Arizona just takes this deal and runs.

I wouldn’t say he’s a SUPERSTAR. You gotta remember that this is a guy who fell from a 1st line center to a second liner, plus he’s obviously had some off-ice issues in Washington. Other than that though, I kinda see your point. I just thought it would be a good idea to through Washington in the deal because Washington wants nothing to do with Kuznetsov, and Arizona may have trouble finding a good replacement for Dvorak, because there aren’t many players like him.

Jack Eichel to the wild

Quoting: RazWild

What? The reported original ask was the equivalent of 4 1st's, and has since dropped to 3 1st's.
Let's add this all up, shall we?
Addison = 1st
Rossi = 1st
Wallstedt = 1st
Total so far = 3 1st's
2022 1st = 1st
2023 1st = 1st
Total so far = 5 1st's
We're already in overpay territory...
2022 2nd
+
2023 2nd = 1st
Total = 6 1st's
+
2022 5th
2023 4th
In what universe is Eichel worth 6 1st's plus a 4th and a 5th. Don't be stupid, he's not McDavid!
We also can I'll afford to lose Rossi, Addison, and Wallstedt. Boldy is easily the most replaceable of the bunch. Holding onto Boldy means absolutely nothing if the rest of our high-end prospects are wiped out in the insuing trade. Eichel is not worth TWO top 50 prospects let alone THREE.
Jesus....

When it comes to the draft picks, its really just five first rounders. You can’t really add the second rounders and make them a first. In fact, the 2nds, the 4th, and the 5th are all pretty much just crap shoots.
However, this does not take away from the fact that this is a ludicrous overpay from the Wild.
