Yeah their forcheck is gonna be relentless. The bottom six was a glaring weakness, pretty much all players outside the first were playing up a line and the depth suffered as a result. Cmac made some great moves the past few days.

Blues decline. Toro is a cheap bottom 6 player who played well for us last year. We have no reason to trade him and especially not for a 4th.

22 - already has a 20g season, win 52% faceoffs, doesn’t suck defensively.
Already proven he can handle middle 6 center role. Will he be a #1? No. Will Boston get a #1 for Swayman? Probably not, unless they get lucky with a pick or prospect they get in return. They could get a 1st or high end prospect for Sway and they could bust. Pinto is safe as we know he can play, and can step right into lineup.

Yeah, I heard it too, but the pundits have been saying he is on the verge of a trade for 5 years now, just last year some pundit or insider claimed he asked for a trade, and he and his agent immediately shut that down as fake news.
To be fair to Friedman, there hasn't been many talking points of excitement this year with the Ducks. Terry repeated last year, Zegras spent more time at center, McTavish and Dostal both had promising rookie campaigns, Verbeek went 2 for 4 on guys he brought in (Vatrano and Kulikov worked, Strome and Klingberg didn't). Only other talking pieces are will they/won't they trade Gibson and will we land Bedard.

Cool story bro, our GM said this at a season ticket holder only event two months ago, so we're going to take his word over your speculation. He's not available, definitely not with retention, and sure as sh*t not for that paltry return.

Detroit gladly accepts.
FYI all Canadian teams are on John Gibsons no trade list. So he won't waive.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>StephL05</b></div><div>I've been seeing a lot of LA post just looking to dump him, you don't think this is a decent offer?</div></div>
No. He's our most underrated player -- an excellent two-way forward who kills penalties and is defensively highly responsible; as shown by his overtime-game-winning goal this series, he has some offensive skill, too. He used to play on our first line with Anze Kopitar but the acquisition of Kevin Fiala and emergence of Adrian Kempe and now Gabe Vilardi have caused him to be shifted around a lot; the fact that the coaching staff have chosed to use him to play up or down the lineup is a measure of his versatility and compatibility.
The reason why you see LA constructions trading Iafallo is due to our cap problem: I won't bore you with the details, but essentially we have to move out one $4 million contract in order to address our needs at #2 LhD (which I don't think that Brannstrom will be) and the vacancy in starting goaltender. So we have basically three choices: move Cal Petersen, at what would certainly be a significant loss, or move Viktor Arvidsson, who is also a fine second-line forward but won't bring back much because he's a rental, or move Iafallo, who would bring back the greatest return. I personally think that Iafallo is worth a 2023 second and a third -- but then again, I'm a Kings fan.

Comes down to this for Sens fans:
Which of these would you rather on opening night:
DeBrincat, Joseph, Sogaard, Brannstrom, and a Patrick Brown/Brassard type guy on the third line.
Or
Iafallo, Sharangovich, Varlamov, Holtz, and Kleven.</div></div>
Don't worry -- we won't be trading Alex Iafallo in some deal where the draft pick is an over-the-horizon second. I'm hoping that Blake manages to find a trade partner who'll give us a player and a 23 second.

OTT declines DET trade, they will NEVER trade Cat to DET unless a massive overpay, and OTT will keep their best D prospect and 2nd best G prospect over a G that has sucked the last 4 years

Possibly close but cat should def bring more. Like an extra decent piece. Something like :
Wahlstrom/Dube/Bjorkstrand
14-18 overall in 2023
Would def be fair for both teams . And the other team could upgrade on their middle 6F for a middle of the pack 1st rounder

I think if Boston trades Swayman they would want a very good, cheap, NHL ready or very close to it player as the primary piece as opposed to a 1st.
Zero interest in a goalie coming back.
There is a good chance that Boston will be forced to trade a G and Ullmark could make himself untraceable with his NTC, leaving them with no choice but to move Swayman.
Ottawa has many attractive pieces to make it work if it comes to that.

The Bruins are absolutely not trading Swayman. If they did ever trade a goailie, it would be Ullmark, just from a cap saving as well as building for the future it makes more sense. They also have 3 good goalie prospects so I don't think that would interest them. It would have to a top 6 center prospect or a RD prospect.
