Regardless its going to take way more than one year of PLD to get Schneider away from the Rangers. Rangers need a solid 6th defenseman. Trading Schneider for what amounts to a rental forward doesn't help them.

Buffalo Sabres signed Kyle Okposo (1 Year / $3,000,000 AAV)
Perfect contract. Great captain and leader. Plays humble minutes on the 4th line and everyone respects him. At $6mm, he was a bit much, at $2.5mm for 1 year? Perfect.
If he matches his 28 points from last year, that puts him at ~$89,000 per point. That's Matthew Tkachuk, Eberle, Marchessault, Rantanen-level for reference,

Grew up a wings fan, I’m sure he’d like the idea of playing here… his wife on the other hand 🤷. I’m not sure where she sits on it, I know she had her residency in NY, is she able to move yet?

Control the Inevtiable
If Miller is such a liability on defense, I doubt Seattle will be willing to give up Wright for him. If they are going to make a defensive upgrade, I think they'll target a more complete and reliable player, and at a price tag that doesn't involve Wright. Otherwise, they're probably looking at a veteran stopgap until Ryker Evans is ready for a full-time spot on the blue line.

Next Year 2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Swampy_Rabbit</b></div><div>Agreed. He certainly ranks higher than Hijack and Robertson imo. The ACGM in me has wild idea of trading Miller for copious amounts of picks/players whatever and giving Jones more playing time. Sign Mikkola cheaper than you would Miller.</div></div>
Yeah, Miller is such an intriguing player. If you asked me last off season, I would say he should be locked up long-term as he is going to be a star. After this season, I am not so sure. I am not sure if Trouba is weighing him down or what the case is. I don't hate the thought process, even though it is unlikely!

Next Year 2
I think most Rangers fans like Jones, he just has had a harder time cracking the line up due to the coaches going with a bigger, more defensive guy. I would love to see him play now that we are going to have a new coach.
His contract would definitely be less than 1.2, probably closer to like 800k tbh

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyScotty</b></div><div>In a vacuum this isn't bad but coupled with Goodrow the bottom 6 is getting expensive and there are 2 vacant spots next year to replace Kane + Tarasenko at RW in addition to RFA deals for K'Andre Miller and Alexis Lafrenière there just isn't enough to go around so something has to give.</div></div>
They have Othmann/Cuylle for the two roster spots (cheaply I may add), it's more figuring out what the lines will be. Here is hoping Kane signs a minimum contract to stay in NY with Panarin

Yea that’s their only goaltender, I was surprised too. I think Minny has the better team.

I dont think the Dfence needs to be bolster with a BUY in megna. Granted he is better than Hajek but the Harpur-Schneider pairing has been good.
Thus this is the only trade I am iffy about. The others are decent. Granted not committing to all these trades would create a log jam of sorts. so... que sera sera</div></div>
i feel like only the cbj trade is worth it bc like u said gauthier has been good and yea Megna doesn't really do much for us...also i can't believe u said the arz was decent(not criticizing...just giving my opinion) bc bjugstad kinda mid and korczak is actually pretty good.

Which would be the primary reason the Blues would ask for a 2023 Pick.
While I agree with the 2023 Draft class being stronger, it's tough to rationalize giving away the one Pick you have in a certain Class, when you have a 1st to spare in the other.

Unrealistic cause of NTCs. Say hell froze over, we'd have to retain or take back term anyway. Leaving us with even worse depth, lack of important core players,..., if we were tanking sure! Just for what? Just to sign a Horvat @7×9m lol

The Breadman certainly earns his paycheck, right now.
What does his production look like in the last year or two of that deal? Ducks would be getting over the hill Panarin while still paying prime Panarin AAV, and we can't sunset him in the minors in case he completely falls off a cliff. He's on our roster until his deal ends or we buy him out. If I am Anaheim, I am probably staying away unless you offer him up for scraps, as the risk is too high.
The biggest part of your return would be the 11.6 mil in cap space you open up for the next 3.5 seasons
