(MTL/CAR) - 2020 5th round pick for Edmundson
So you paid the same amount that Philly paid for KEVEN HAYES to get an at best 3rd pairing Dman, who I assume you are now going to overpay.
And what does this mean for Mete? Be very, very afraid MTL fans.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Joel Edmundson (UFA rights acquired by MTL) was one of the worst defencemen in the league this season. Would it be worth trading 2-3 for 1?</div></div>
Nah it wouldn’t. Draft Byfield and one of Stutzle/Raymond. Then take one of Barron/Schneider with the Isles pick and take a sniper with the early 2nd, plenty of guys will drop

They're more or less ranked.
And my opinion on Drysdale is that he's not someone the Sens should really be considering with their two top 5 picks. The Forwards available are <em>that</em> much better in my opinion.

The only Domi trade that makes sense IMO
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ThatGuy</b></div><div>I could see Perreault becoming (maybe to a lesser extent) a version of Tatar. A change of scenery with a different role can really help players find their game.
And like you say, a 1-year commitment is a none issue. Very low risk. Worst case, you get rid of him before the 2021/22 season</div></div>
A very very lesser version of Tatar.....maybe. Perreault is much older than Tatar was and hasn't been as prominent at scoring. I wouldn't compare him to Tatar actually. But being that he is from Quebec, only has one year left and the Jets probably would expect some cash coming out if they are taking Domi's in, its a small price to pay for a player whose not a cap dump style player but isn't exactly a hot commodity either.

Just easier to @ all of you.
Perrault is simply there because:
- Teams rarely ever make trades for high priced players without some cap coming out.
- The french factor looks good on MB and the franco fan base.
- Losing Domi means needing a live body that has experience to at least help replace his time on the roster.
- Habs have oodles of cap space so adding 4M Perreault for one single year is not a big deal.
- If he plays well but habs don't make the playoffs, they get another player to flip at the TDL for a pick. (See Scandella)
- Plays all forward positions. Habs could always use depth. Or is playing Weise acceptable to you?
- Also if I trade Domi i want him out of conference and WPG makes a lot of sense for them and us.
I don't like Perreault. I don't want Perreault. The only reason he is here is that he checks all the boxes of the Habs.
<a href="/users/Csick" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Csick</a>
I prefer this trade to Philly for Ghost and Ratcliffe becuase Domi on the Flyers is going to haunt the Habs for a long time and Habs need to build for the future. Adding Ghost means they want to try and be good now which I DONT want them to think. IMO.
<a href="/users/pinslack" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@pinslack</a>
I don't want to do what MB wants because that means failing lol so Im giving my interpretation of what would happen if I could whisper in his ear my advice. :awesome
<a href="/users/IVTEJ09" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@IVTEJ09</a>
I agree, If the goal is try and get Ghost, I would prefer to trade Drouin. That is a better comparable. Domi should bring back a much better package than Ghost IMO.

What could have been
To be fair, this isn't a team that would go deep in the playoffs, and next year would be absolute cap hell with hoffman, brown, pageau and chabot all lined up for / expected to get significant raises. The Brassard trade is the only one that, looking back, certainly harmed the Sens

A lot? It’s not close for ekblad. He’s a top rhd with term and is still young and having his best season yet. And they’re giving up a player who isn’t living up to expectations and mid range first rounder, duclair was a bottom forward up until this year only thing I don’t know much about is pinto but he’s no d prospect so it doesn’t work in this trade at all.

Ottawa 2021 - With Lottery Luck
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ThatGuy</b></div><div>You'd trade away L. Brown to move up 20ish spots in the draft??</div></div>
As previously mentioned by Csick realistically you'd probably have to trade up to 9-12 to get Quinn but i was using the ranks on tankathon and as such it would be 20ish spots but could be upwards of 30+ spots. As it stands Logan Brown has only proven to be able to play in the AHL and seems lost in the NHL. I hope he gets another chance before the end of the year to prove us wrong but he's had ample opportunity and hasn't been able to deliver and if we pick up a Stutzle or even a Rossi/Perfetti/Byfield etc. they quite possibly all end up slotting above him and Logan brown i dont see in a bottom 6 Role and we are light on Top 6 wingers. We could move him to the wing maybe but even this seems unlikely. As said this is a less is more and moving up into a deep first round could be worth the gamble and I dont see any other players valuable enough to move up with.

Every single game I like him a little more as a player.
The habs game over the weekend is the game that sealed it for me as the future Sens captain over Chabot (taking nothing away from Chabot)</div></div>
Brady Tkachuk has been the Captain from the moment Stone was traded.
There's a good chance that Chabot will be the better player, but Brady is the clear choice for the C. Brady is the one who can drag the team into the fight. Even when nothing is going right, Brady is still in the muck dropping big hits and rattling goalies.

As much as I like Brannstrom, the only trade I'd like a redo on is Stone. He was the future Captain but Ottawa/Melnyk walked him out the door via arbitration. Ottawa offered what Vegas gave him except the most important factors in a contract; security via a NMC and NTC.
Karlsson was difficult at the time, but look at it now. He is half the man he was because of his entire leg. Basically, what made him dynamic and exciting is no longer there. He just can't skate. Don't get me wrong, he's still a really good player, but not anything near what he used to be.
This team here finished dead last. Even with all these players. Dead. Last. Maybe things would be different. But as it stands, Ottawa is going through this rebuild.
Ottawa is in a position to really rebuild from scorched earth with two really exiting young guys in Tkachuk and Chabot... + 2 top 5 picks possibly.
