Gryz bad game
Edmonton spotted Boston two easy goals and McDavid had his quietest game all season. What happened? Surely you can't blame the results on Gryz.

Imaging thinking a team with Nurse and Ekholm patrolling the left side with Kulak and Broberg sharing 3rd pairing would want an overpaid Ben Chiarot for the next three years!

Fully agree, but Campbell isn't getting moved or bought out this summer. He'll get a 2nd chance, it's Holland's MO.

If you replace Kulak + Holl + Rittich with Broberg + Desharnais + Campbell you will (1) SAVE $375K, (2) keep the high draft picks, and (3) have a better team. Plus if you still want to move Yamamoto you'll get assets back for him.

Edmonton won't be trading their 1RD for Mike Hoffman. Nor will they trade a 3rd for Chris Wideman.

IF YOURE GOING TO TRADE FOR WILSON READ THIS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ClockReads2113</b></div><div>Kane and Anderson are not even close to Wilson. Kane doesn't have the hitting ability and Anderson isn't even as close as skill. The Tkachuk brothers are the closest but that leaves 3 players, so I'm right in saying no one is like him.
And again, you're not getting, it's not about what YOU think, it's what every GM thinks, and every GM is obsessed with Wilson and know how unique he is. If Wilson is ever traded (doubtful) his return wiill be massive. Think Jeannot, but at double.</div></div>
You're right that Kane isn't close to Wilson - he's twice the player Wilson is. Wilson has three 20-goal seasons, Kane has EIGHT plus 4 more where he was on pace to score at least 20. In fact, his rookie year was the ONLY season of his career when he scored at a lower pace.
The Tkachuk's are another level up again. You're deluding yourself if you think Tom Wilson is in that company - just willfully ignoring the facts. He's just the next Milan Lucic.

Ceci is better and cheaper than Gudas, so you've made the defense corps worse.
Konecny is an upgrade on Yamamoto though, so it's probably a wash. All it cost was next year's first to not improve the team.

Yes, Rust is basically a cap dump at this point. Why do so many people on this site think Edmonton is a place to send cap dumps? They're a contender and they have virtually no cap space already. They wouldn't take Rust even if he came with 3 first round picks.
Try Chicago.

Bouchard's closest comp is Dobson. Dobson scored 50+ points in his contract year and got 3x$4M. I'm thinking Bouchard will come in at or close to that number - depending on how the rest of the season and playoffs go.

Not even close. Your whole premise is that he's unique and there's no other player like him, which of course is false. There are plenty of other players like him Evander Kane, both Tkachuks, Josh Anderson, etc. They're nice players to have around, but at the end of the day Nylander does WAY more to help his team win than Wilson does, so he has more value. And that's without talking age & contract.
A 28 year old (soon to be 29) who has a career high of 24 goals just doesn't have the kind of value you're ascribing to him, no matter how physical or how many fights he has.

Why is Janmark getting so much? You can find 6 goal scorers for a lot less. Interesting that you have him ahead of Kostin, who has been much better.
This looks pretty reasonable though. I do expect Holland to make some larger moves in the summer.

Olofsson with $2M retained has the same cap hit as Warren Foegele. I doubt Edmonton would trade Foegele for Olofsson 1 for 1.

Their production is fairly close, edge to Foegele. But Foegele brings <strong>much</strong> more physicality, goes to the net, wins board battles and has a reasonable defensive game. All of which playoff teams look for in a player.

You're over valuing Lindgren by a lot. Even switching the 2nd to a 1st likely isn't getting your calls answered in Nashville. Saros is the real deal - a top-5 goalie and young enough to fit the Sabres timeline.

Foegele will NOT get dumped like Kassian. GM's have repeatedly shown that a big, fast and physical guy with a good motor and decent hands is valued around the league.
Look at the Oilers forwards 5v5 goal scoring this season, Foegele shows well despite rarely playing with McDavid or Draisaitl.
1. McDavid: 1.60 goals/60
2. Kostin: 1.38
3. Kane: 1.13
4. Foegele: 1.04
His points/60 is a hair above RNH's for the season, he leads the forward corps in takeaways and is near the top of the list for hits. He's well worth his remaining $2.75 x 1 contract.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TraderJoes</b></div><div>I think the player to go is more obvious. With Nurse, Ekholm and Broberg on the left side, Kulak is the contract that will be divested if Holland needs to clear one.
