My fault on the # - was thinking Edmonton, still have to get rid of salary, and Kerfoot is the most likely candidate.

<em>Zuccarello is everything to kaprizov</em> - this is the same GM who has quotes such as "we don't have time for petty bull****" or "this is about F**king winning", etc, you don't think that if he could get a significantly better player to play with Kirill at a net pretty much even all around in this world, that he wouldn't do it? I completely and utterly disagree.
Also, Dumba will absolutely get traded if he does not like the $3.5M contract that's put in front of him, as that is the amount the wild can afford to pay him.

I mean, and Kadri isn't a product of Mackinnon, Makar, Landeskog, Raantanen, etc? Also, has there been a 35+ player that has been traded that has had 1+ppg?

I didn't realize the cap crunch the Isles are in to be completely honest, I mean the Wild could take bailey on in that deal, they still have the cap space and could move him at the deadline, etc, or just hold him for a year, I don't think that would be overly unrealistic. I also don't think it would be unrealistic if he bounced back a little bit.

How to get Dumba
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>User123409871234</b></div><div>Im not a Holl person, and it just continues to clog up the right side for Addison and Faber, which I believe Addison might become the new Dumba in terms of name always being tossed around, as I think Faber will likely take the spot next to Brodin as 2 unreal skaters with great puck ability but limited offense, maybe I could be wrong but I don't see Faber as their "long-term" 3rd pair RD.
So, all that being said, if you could get Knies for Dumba 50% retained, I would do that in a heartbeat as well.</div></div>
Holl was simply to make the money work. He's pending UFA at $2M. There would be no intention to re-sign him, purely a cap balance part of the deal. Entirely optional - TOR could probably just separately move him for a small return, if they'd prefer.
edit - it wasn't just Dumba 50% for Knies though. It was O'Rourke as well. Not a nothing piece at all. Captain of the Soo, which was intentional to play on Dubas' heartstrings.

How to get Dumba
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>User123409871234</b></div><div>Correct, and in that, the only team that he alluded to being a possibility is TOR, and everyone knows it. Dumba is not as valuable as Wild fans believe, maybe if he has a decent offensive season he could garner a first at the deadline or a first and a prospect if the wild retained half, but his value is definitely not higher than Knies</div></div>
I agree, I'd trade Dumba for Knies 1-1 in a heartbeat, but that's never gonna happen.
I proposed Dumba @ 50% retained + O'Rourke for Knies and Holl as a TDL deal, and even that I didn't feel was very likely for Leafs to agree to. I don't think TOR should be dealing Knies for anything less than a pretty significant piece.

That's what I would do if we keep Fiala. Rossi shouldn't see any minutes on the 4th line IMO, his game does not fit that role at all. If they aren't comfortable with him in the top 6, I'd just let him marinate more in Iowa getting top line minutes and 1st unit PP time.

Actually agree here. He's not worth keeping and it's only becoming more apparent. Especially at his cap hit. If you could re-negotiate his deal this summer down to about 4M it might make sense, but even then you still have to move Fiala, and it's not worth it.

Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>User123409871234</b></div><div>Is that enough to keep Fiala is more my question then.</div></div>
No. We have $8,183,912 in projected space next year. Making this trade gives us $9,508,912 but we would still only have a 17 man roster. We'd need to re-sign Fiala, Middleton, and Dewar as RFAs, find a backup goalie, and replace Deslauriers and Bjugstad. We likely need to clear Dumba's contract and then some to be able to comfortably re-sign Fiala and Middleton with room to spare for Boldy's new contract next offseason.

Nah, I don't think Dumba is the guy. Looking for a stay at home right d (physical with size if it's on the menu), we already have dahlin and power to do the heavy lifting, just want a guy to help out in our end. No point paying a premium for a skill set we aren't looking for.

Someone has to move out of the top 6 - you could get a lot more for Hartman at 33 and counting than you could Gaudreau and you give Gaudreau the opportunity to become the next Hartman. At the end of the day with the amount of people in the pipeline getting ready for real NHL minutes - in terms of asset management - Hartman is as high of a value guy right now as he will ever be with 2 years left at 1.7M</div></div>
Makes sense, but since Hartman signed that team friendly to stay in MN it would really set a bad precedent when asking future free agents to sign a team friendly.

Yea I think Guerin's price will be huge for Fiala - like trying to get Ottawa's '22 1st huge. The top of Ottawa's prospect pool, outside of Greig, are all defensemen - which the Wild already have a lot of.
Could definitely see Kulikov getting moved, regardless of his relationship with Kaprizov. Especially if Middleton keeps impressing here, I'd think that becomes more likely this summer.

2022-23 Wild
Buffalo is a place that could use a veteran RD, to help anchor their young LD. But he does have the NTC which could make this more difficult. Dumba for a second Buffalo would do it one phone call no problem, but he would definitely demand more a 1st for sure and a prospect. But I do think Guerin wants to and will resign him even though his offensive numbers have dropped a bit him and Brodin make a very good line. I just hope the next contract is for less then 6 mil. He hasn’t been playing up to that number in my mind and with the cap crunch ahead.
I wouldn’t be surprised to hear Buffalo inquiring about Fiala and his availability. Prospects and Picks for the Wild and cap space could be a good match.
